Does your religion play a significant impact in how you perform social action if so how? If not why?

From my perspective, as a Christian I believe in service to the world as a representation of the love of God, and the love that God has provided for me for my fellow man.

It is my psychological base, and guides my worldview and allows me to understand that:

Sacrifice is imperitive to create change
Grace should be given because grace was received
I am accountable not to my whims and lust, but to a higher power
Love is explempified by the actions you take on behalf of others

How about you and yours?
