Ever... Just wondering...
Egungun, Egungun ni t'aiye ati jo! Ancestos, Ancestors come to earth and dance! "I'm sick of the war and the civilization that created it. Let's look to our dreams, and the magical; to the creations of the so-called primitive peoples for new inspirations." - Jaques Vache and Andre Breton "Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone." -John Maynard "You know that in our country there were even matriarchal societies where women were the most important element. On the Bijagos islands they had queens. They were not queens because they were the daughters of kings. They had queens succeeding queens. The religious leaders were women too..." -- Amilcar Cabral, Return to the Source, 1973

Uhhhm. I got that RR(It's kinda obvious). What I was saying is when I thought about who would respond that they hadn't cheated, I predicted everyone that responded so far except you.

Hey, I'm just being honest.

Thanks for responding. Honesty is a good thing. If you can reflect on your past self and admit you were a serial cheater, it means you more than likely stopped the behavior. It's those that deny their previous behavior that don't change it.

I do hope that the part about 'depending on what one considers "cheating" doesn't apply to the current relationship! Eek

In RR's defense, it's us brothas who mind our p and q's (and consequently don't have plenty happening on the side) that make do by enjoying a picture ... or two.

Unlike RR, I don't advertise it all over the internet and generally keep that to myself. Big Grin

Lol, thanks for answering RR's question for me.

Isn't that called "Moving on"?

Like I said, depends on your view. I was still "legally" married but in my book once the vows have been broken it's every man for themselves. Of course some argue that since I was still married I was wrong and 2 wrongs don't make a right

I pray you don't mind ocatchings...

but...

How can you be loyal to something that doesn't exist? (is my first instinctual response)

However,on the other hand, perhaps one can continue to be loyal to the principle... The principle of marriage... I can understand that... meaning loyal to the idea that one has given their word whether or not the other party maintains their word....

and yet... I certainly understand why it could be considered moving on once one party breaks their vows and the other party "moves on" away from the attempt to stay together in response....

Cheating is having, for any length of time whatsoever, an attachment (of a sexual and/or romantic nature) with a person other than your significant other who (understood within the confines of monogamy) has every reason to believe that they are the sole person with whom you share such an attachment.

By that definition, I have never cheated. In college ... or otherwise ... Smile

Even though I was just brutality assaulted by ATPWordPro, I will respond. laugh
Wthout trying to hijack the original thread, the subject in itself is a touchy one. If I choose the religious route I guess I could claim that we were not "equally yolked" therefore I was free to do whatever. But from the moral sense I was still legally married so when do the vows no longer matter? Once one partner strays or when the divorce is final?
The decision was easy, why hang around to salvage something when it takes two. The way I see it leave before something bad happens.

If the relationship is already pretty much dead and the other parties actions are especially egregious, waiting on a judge to confirm extends the pain for both parties unnecessarily.....

Well, if we are going to start getting technical and talking about what the definition of the word "is" is, then I might just have to change my answer...

I was living with another woman while I was still married to my ex.

~ ConfusedThennnn....yes, I have?....annnnnnd...no, I have not! Confused LOL! No, seriously, I totally get what you're saying, Khalliqa. It's perfect. I agree. So, I'd have to say "NO" I have never cheated on the marriage, but I have "tried" to cheat on the principle [as retaliation]. It didn't work. It's not in me to cheat. I can't even function in that capacity. I don't see how people do it.*shudder* And prior to marriage, I never cheated in any way shape or form , nor in any following relationships since the marriage was over. girl Whew!~
I've never cheated, or ever even considered it. Sexual responsibility is extremely important to me and always has been.

However, every relationship I've ever been in (with one exception... college if you can believe that) ended with her cheating and me kicking her to the curb with a quickness.

Not only will I not do it, but I won't tolerate it.
