I am just now reading the August 05 edition of Black Enterprise (yes a brother is behind in his reading).. They haven an article on a company out of Maryland owned by a brother and sister, that helps you find what part of Africa you originated from. They have a database of more than 25K folks from Africa representing 200 indigenous populations. Basically they match you up against the database.. 85% of the clients find identical matches..

The company is called African Ancestry. It only costs 349.00 per test.. Here is the website:

http://www.africanancestry.com/ and the article is here:

I think I'm going to do it since I have a family reunion coming up this summer..

Didn't anyone watch African American Lives with Henry Louis Gates on PBS in February?? This company was an integral part of the second part of the documentary. Also Dr. Kittles was interviewed extensively for the program. If you want to get more information about what they discussed on the show related to the DNA or want to find out any resources about tracing your family history you can check out the web page for the documentary: African American Lives
Peace

I actually watched but I do not actually ever remember them stating the name of the company. I could be wrong. They just kind of said genetic expert such and such..
