Remember that George W. Bush was elected as a "compassionate conservative"? That lasted for about 10 minutes and then we've pretty much had marshal law since for all intents and purposes!

Barack Obama ran on change. That change is from the hard right, neo-con ways of the current administration. That means that the new president has a mandate to enact a liberal agenda. That's right, I said it. The "L" word: LIBERAL.

This country has had enough of the right's laissez faire, do whatever, Gordon Gecko-esque hands off approach. It's nearly tanked the economy. It's gotten thousands of Americans killed in Iraq. It's wasted billions of our hard earned tax dollars. It is responsible for hundreds of thousands of lost American jobs. The people are crying for change . . . from that.

President Obama has a mandate. I certainly hope that he doesn't dilute his liberal agenda for things like universal health care, tax fairness, bringing jobs back to America, stimulating a green economy etc. with all this talk about "bi-partisanship". IMO, bi-partisanship is an approach. It's a collegial way of getting things done. Sure, Barack will continue to smile. Sure he will listen to all manner of arguments from both left and right. At the end of the day, however, let's not be confused about the clear message that Americans have given him.

Time to pivot LEFT President Obama. Let's do this! tfro

Beyonce has been hinting at an invite to the inauguration. Maybe she can do a special rendition of Irreplaceable, ...."to the left, to the left." daz

I might be misunderestimating Beyonce. But for some reason I can't see her doing a credible or insightful political parody of that song.
Do you think his taking in Clinton will help him do that?

There's been a lot of argument that he's "remaking" the Clinton era.

I don't necessarily agree with that but I do believe he is on point bringing in people who are experienced, on their game and DIFFERENT from the norm in most ways.

If you knew he was reading your post, what suggestions would you give him, to keep him repeating "the L word"....lol...???
