Mission Statement

Founded in 2008, The Zeitgeist Movement is a Sustainability Advocacy Organization which conducts community based activism and awareness actions through a network of Global/Regional Chapters, Project Teams, Annual Events, Media and Charity Work.

The Movement's principle focus includes the recognition that the majority of the social problems which plague the human species at this time are not the sole result of some institutional corruption, scarcity, a political policy, a flaw of "human nature" or other commonly held assumptions of causality.

Rather, The Movement recognizes that issues such as poverty, corruption, collapse, homelessness, war, starvation and the like appear to be "Symptoms" born out of an outdated social structure. While intermediate Reform steps and temporal Community Support are of interest to The Movement, the defining goal here is the installation of a new socioeconomic model based upon technically responsible Resource Management, Allocation and Distribution through what would be considered The Scientific Method of reasoning problems and finding optimized solutions.

This "Resource-Based Economic Model" is about taking a direct technical approach to social management as opposed to a Monetary or even Political one. It is about updating the workings of society to the most advanced and proven methods Science has to offer, leaving behind the damaging consequences and limiting inhibitions which are generated by our current system of monetary exchange, profits, corporations and other structural and motivational components.

The Movement is loyal to a train of thought, not figures or institutions. In other words, the view held is that through the use of socially targeted research and tested understandings in Science and Technology, we are now able to logically arrive at societal applications which could be profoundly more effective in meeting the needs of the human population. In fact, so much so, that there is little reason to assume war, poverty, most crimes and many other money-based scarcity effects common in our current model cannot be resolved over time.

The range of The Movement's Activism & Awareness Campaigns extend from short to long term, with the model based explicitly on Non-Violent methods of communication. The long term view, which is the transition into a Resource-Based Economic Model, is a constant pursuit and expression, as stated before. However, in the path to get there, The Movement also recognizes the need for transitional Reform techniques, along with direct Community Support.

For instance, while "Monetary Reform" itself is not an end solution proposed by The Movement, the merit of such legislative approaches are still considered valid in the context of transition and temporal integrity. Likewise, while food and clothes drives and other supportive projects to help those in need today are also not considered a long term solution, it is still considered valid in the context of helping others in a time of need, while also drawing awareness to the principle goal.

The Zeitgeist Movement also has no allegiance to a country or traditional political platforms. It views the world as a single system and the human species as a single family and recognizes that all countries must disarm and learn to share resources and ideas if we expect to survive in the long run. Hence, the solutions arrived at and promoted are in the interest to help everyone on the planet Earth, not a select group.

Technology and Cultural Lag - Zeitgeist Movement 1/4

We need to distinguish between BAD sci-fi and GOOD science fiction and understand technology applied to physics.

I didn't see any passive solar house designs in that circular city.  The Sun follows a pattern in the sky through the year and any society talking about energy efficiency should be designing all building to take advantage of it.  Instead we have these Roman rectangular grids with houses facing toward the streets regardless of solar movement.  But a circle is not any better than a rectangle.

But we do need to get our culture synced up with our technology and make the economics fit both.  Instead we have economic power games with most people brainwashed to lose.

Try some Mack Reynolds for a little zeitgeist updating.

@ Xum....I totally AGREE!!!  And once oil is not a demand or issue....then maybe we can start looking at the human atrocities on the other side of the world nobody's talking about.  Maybe we can address the REAL social decay that has been stunted cuz the power's that be don't wanna make waves cuz these folks have lots and lots of oil....not common sense...but!  Lots and lots of oil.  Maybe if we use the brilliant mind that the universe gave us to create a lifestyle that will guarantee us in the future long term, we can REALLY become human and connect with the world the right way.  But until then, it's greed and a blind eye.  But!  I'm just sayin

White people ARE in fear cuz they know the jig is up!!!  Black people can read....and one day they i.e. Black people will finally STOP killing each other and come together and create freely-not create as they once did as slaves or when they were under the hammer of Jim Crow.  But Free!  When we begin to CREATE freely.....those neanderthals now Europeans and Semitics will began to fall or even crash behind.  Cuz why?  They. do. not. have. the Brilliant.  gene.  They are not truly homo sapien.  Every thing they have now in terms of intelligence or some form of high technology have been stolen or exposed to them by chance[and a black somewhere was behind the discovery or invention of whatever it was-trust me.]  So far these white geniuses haven't come up with anything new.  Cuz the computer[that everyone is given the white man credit for] was designed by a what?  BLACK.  MAN. Yup!!  Of course he didn't get the credit here in the states as he did aboard but I'm just pointing out that real brilliance comes from us exclusively.  And that is why white people are afraid...cuz this time around they cannot legitimately "steal it" from us.   Nope.  The only thing they have left is their "white skin."  When that 2,000-year trend is gone and folks start loving who they are naturally-black/dark/swarthy skin in all..... well you're gonna see a lot of white suicides, destructive living-alladat. Watch.  Cuz it's not just Arab Spring waking's everybody!  The shift is here.  But!

They didn't really give any details ... or clearly state their mission ... so, I'm not really sure what it is they're proposing!!

They kinda talked in a circle .... so, I'm not sure if it's really a good - or viable - idea.

But if they're talking about being an "all-in-one" solution for every societal problem ... they've definitely got their work cut out for them!!

Or maybe it's just their strong and diligent Christian teaching that suggests there should be "an eye for an eye"!!!

I'd be scared as shyt, too .... if I thought people wanted to 'do unto' me what they've 'done' to everybody else on the planet!!

I saw that Kocolicious.  I saw it on BlackMediaScoop (I think that's how it's spelled).  That was despicable.  Something's really going horrifically wrong with Caucasians at this time.  Their racial hatred's driving them beyond insane and it's extremely dangerous for Africans here and everywhere.  They were mean as hell during slavery and it hasn't waned one bit.  It's worse now, I believe.  I wish to hell they'd never discovered Africa nor Africans, elephants nor lions.  After they slaughtered the Natives, they should have left well enough alone, found a way to BEND DOWN and pick the cotton and tobacco themselves, and kept this mofo WHITE.  Who needs this racial hatred every single day of our lives.  I know I don't.  My mother gave birth and here I am.  Didn't ask for it and am trying not to leave before my time.  Fluck these retarded ex-European haters.  I apologize for being here, but unfortunately, I'm not as rich as RMoney, 'cause if I was, I'd have long been GONE.  Don't know where, but SOMEWHERE other than here.

MICHELLE Obama is a woman of the world, and will dismiss her portrayal as a slave-woman without so much as pausing to confer contempt on it.

Nevertheless, the partially nude portrait of the First Lady does pose philosophical and political questions: how long must Afro-Americans keep fighting for the equality they have supposedly already won? How long must a black woman be forcibly reminded that she is descended from slaves?

No matter that Michelle Obama is a poised and accomplished woman whose husband is President of the United States of America. Just don’t let her forget her roots, boy.

In portraying the First Lady in the manner of Portrait d’une negresse by the French academic painter Marie-Guilhelmine Benoist, Karine Percheron-Daniels performs a hollow joke and denigrates the humanitarian struggle of generations of Afro-Americans.

It could be that Percheron-Daniels was inspired to produce this portrait by the recent release of a book purporting to prove that slaves and slave owners were both among Michelle Obama’s ancestors.

If so, depicting the First Lady as a slave with one breast exposed was in bad taste.

I mean....most of the world has a history of slavery...but! That's not what really got me streaming...her being depicted as a "slave."  It's the WAY it's dehumanizing. Did  she have to use this model?  Did she have to show nudity?  It is soooooooo many beautiful images of black women dressed in African wear....why did she have to show her breast hanging out?  What is the purpose in that?  Cuz me there are a lot of things Spain doesn't want the world to know about it's pederastic history.  What if a "black" artist depicted Spain raping little boys inone of their villages?  Which they did a lot but they didn't call it "rape"  they called it initiation into manhood.  What if  a black artist decided to reveal this in such a monsterous manner...would the Spaniards be upset?

No matter Percheron-Daniels reasoning or her poetic license to do was WRONG!!!! Disrespect!!!  Inhumane.    Cuz children are looking at that...even Michele's own children can one day see that.  How cruel and dishonorable for a mere artistic peasant [in the realm of things] can be sooooo heartless and insensitive.  Shock value my ass!  All it JEALOUSY.  Envy. And European arrogance.  This whore just don't know.  Good thing her azz is in Spain.  Or is she?  Let her show her face up in my neighborhood.  Trust me it would be pretty..not at all.  Plus this is a total betrayal for women all over the world.  For controversy you're willing to throw us ALL under the bus just to get some cheesy form of notoriety?    Pitiful. Most times it is not the MEN who keep our image sold [as a slave] is the WOMEN!!!! And this is a GREAT example of that. Heifer!!!  But!

BTW:  Thanks sista Sunnubian.  Good looking out!

Well, what I want to know is .... What the &%*(^^ was the purpose for doing that??    What the hell is this so-called artist trying to say or "express"???

To me it says, "I want somebody to come and put a foot in my ass!!"    But, I'm sure this person was trying to convey some other idea.  Just can't imagine what that might be.
