Ahhh well .... I guess we can dream!
Since we'll never know what something like that looks like. I was just thinking today how TOTALLY ridiculous it is that - mostly our media ... but really our entire government environment - is ALREADY starting to gear up for the 2016 presidential campaign!!
I mean ... do these White people not understand that we have REAL problems ... that need their professional and political attention .... RIGHT FREAKIN' NOW!!! Yet, instead, .. for the next 2 1/2 years, they'll be focusing their/our (i.e., the public's) attention on a damn election happening in 2016.
Not to mention that there's one even MORE politically important happening in 2014 ... with the mid-terms. And the prospect of giving the President a favorable Congress (probably when pigs fly, though, if you're depending on the Dems to do it!), But it's an important election, nonetheless.
I also read today that the Benghazi Bug is apparently still buzzing in several Conservative Republicans asses .... and they intent to bring that up AGAIN ...and waste more taxpayer money and time ... on something that N-O-B-O-D-Y in this country gives a flyin' damn about (considering things like, oh ... our daily lives!! ).
We don't need the media to tell us what our "issues" are. It's obvious they don't know, anyway. But ... we can't afford to let them distract us with mind-numbing, insignificant BS like 3-years-in-the-future-election-results like they're trying to throw at us right now.
It's time for there to be a revolution in America, one that will turn our government back over to the people, one that will rid our government of corporate puppets and race-baiting con-artists. I really don't know what it is going to take for the American people to see that our politicians and their being under the undue influence of corporate American and diabolical billionaires is not going to do anything but run our government, economy and our Constitution and Civil Rights further into the ground. Common sense would say that Americans, regardless of party would see that this is a dangerous road for America to be on and one that is going to lead to eventual destruction of "America" as we have known it if trainwreck of politics is not stopped. America's politicians are trying their damnest to turn over our entire government and our public school system into the hands of private corporations. Our police forces have already been militarized [for use against WHO par tel?] America's financial worth needs to be taken out of the hands of the private Bank, The Federal Reserve. American companies should not be getting tax breaks, and government subsidies to send American jobs and manufacturing overseas. American politicians should no longer be allowed to fabricate "Wars" in order to dole out government contract to their friends, family, campaign doners and to their own private companies or companies they have investment in. Politicians should no longer be able to run for or hold public office without a public accounting audited by the I.R.S. or have bank accounts in any country other than America. . . . Those are just a few just to START to get America back on the track to take the country back in the right direction.

When are people going to figure out that science and technology are more important than politics and economics? This ain't 1900 anymore and we ain't in Kansas,
The Wizard of Oz has taken over.
In 1900 there were 8,000 cars in this country. In 1995 there were 200,000,000. What does the economics profession say about the depreciation of all of those cars? I just found something very funny. Robert Heinlein is a famous science fiction writer. But his very first novel, which was rejected multiple times, was lost for decades. Someone found a copy in a garage and it was published in 2003. I just read it. It was written in 1938 and he used the word DEPRECIATION four times in one short novel. Most economists don't discuss that in economics books with hundreds of pages. 1939 was before WWII and the Depression really ended.
I was just watching the movie Fortress on my Nexus 7 last night.

World War II heavy bomber. Maximum speed 285 mph. The first one started flying in 1935.
Why have we been going into debt for useless variations in cars that roll along the ground at less than 120 mph for the last 50 years. Are our economists so stupid that they don't know about planned obsolescence? What about the politicians? And now our physicists who talk about Higgs Bosons can't explain why airliners can't destroy skyscrapers in less than two hours.
What did Malcolm X and Martin Luther King ever say about SCIENCE? MLK kept Nichelle Nichols on Star Trek. I wonder if he cared about it being a SCIENCE Fiction show?
I say the country is going to come apart in this century because the nitwit politicians can't figure out the importance of science and technology. What about Black Americans?

He uses the word "science" but he does not impart or advocate scientific knowledge but makes comparisons between it and religion and attitudes about it.
But he does admit it gives people power so how are Black Americans supposed to engage with it? Trust White folks to teach us science? ROFL
I consider 9/11 to be the perfect example of White folks and science. Most of them can't figure it out and their "scientific authority" is either silent or BSing. It looks to me like the vast majority are silent.
What are all of the non-White nations around the world saying? Is physics the property of White folks? Are we supposed to trust them with it? If they wreck the planet we will be stuck with the result.
The science has gotten freaky since the 60s.

It is tied up with the economics and politics more than ever.

Yeah, well ... good luck with that one!
I think the best chance for that would have been the Occupy Wall Street movement - had it been started/created by people who knew what they were doing!! But with three young, White, Canadian college students as the mastermind .... the prospects for success, unfortunately, never had a chance.
Too many of the voting-age American population are just not intelligent enough (at least politically speaking ... but, really, when Kim Kardasian wearing a tight dress over her 'baby bump' is the most important news story in the country/world and tops the three biggest news sources as "information" .... we are in big ass trouble!! ).
"Common sense" is missing from the minds of too many of our fellow citizens ... and especially so with many of our kids ... that they simply don't think of things like "cause and effect" or "classism" or "fair distribution of wealth."
If any of those people were just stopped for one minute to really think about the level of corruption/lobbying/bribery that goes on in Washington to our politicians ... if we could get them to care ... then I don't think starting a "revolution" against it would be all that hard to do!

I know your right, but when he says " Science gives man knowledge which is power", I think that he fully understands science and its implications for a people, however, it may be unfair to expect MLK or Malcolm to be too concerned with promoting science all out, at a time when, first, their main focus has to be stopping Black people from being hunted down and lynced or from being dscriminated against having the tools to study science in the first place. Had both or either man lived, I'm sure that Science would have become very high on their agenda, and also Mathmatics, Law, and Entreprenueurship.

That is one of the peculiar things about European culture. Why is mathematics separated from science. Why not just teach science and do the math when it is necessary to deal with the science. But we have kids spend hours doing mathematics which does not seem to have anything to do with anything.
But no, we must continue the Greek traditions.

"But we have kids spend hours doing mathematics which does not seem to have anything to do with anything."
This is so true. Most teachers can't even tell their students why they need to know any mathmatics beyond arithmetic or relatate it to anything tangible.
