Texas Board of Education Revises Textbooks: Slaves were ‘Unpaid Interns’

DALLAS — The Texas Board of Education has drawn scrutiny in recent years for its efforts to revise its curriculum to favor more conservative-friendly versions of history and science. After revising textbooks last year to emphasize Christian influences on the Founding Fathers and introduce Intelligent Design to biology classes, the Board voted nine to zero today to change official nomenclature regarding slavery. In Texas, students will now be taught that slaves were not kidnapped and exploited against their will, but were actually “unpaid interns.”

“While African workers were not compensated monetarily,” the new curriculum guidelines acknowledge, “by working outside picking cotton, they gained valuable career experience and were provided with ample networking opportunities.”

Charlie Schuster, a three-term board member from Dallas, introduced the motion. For the incredulous Schuster, the idea that the Founding Fathers were involved in a system of owning fellow humans simply was too much to believe. “Either the Founding Fathers were divinely-inspired statesmen,” said Schuster, “or they endorsed slavery. That’s a pretty glaring contradiction. So obviously slavery didn’t exist.”

“Sure, these plantation interns had it harder than today’s modern college students,” Board of Ed member Alan Wixom told Newslo. “They didn’t have coffee breaks, they couldn’t goof around on Facebook, they were frequently beaten within an inch of sweet merciful death — but they made lifelong connections and built some strong resumes in the process. Not to mention the acclaimed music they were encouraged to write!”

Schuster’s motion reportedly included several primary source documents provided by revisionist historian David Barton, which lent credibility to the Board’s interpretation of slavery. One of the documents — a diary entry supposedly written by a slave in Virginia — proudly describes the glowing letter of recommendation he was given by “the man with the bullwhip.”

But the Board’s critics were vocal in their opposition to the changes. “Look at this garbage,” said education activist Javier Narilla, reading from the new curriculum. “‘History textbooks should mention that the international slave trade was merely an early precursor to modern study abroad programs.’ This is the law now.”

Added Narilla, “I hate this state.”

Whether liberal or conservative, political and pedagogical experts agree that the implications of this decision are monumental, Texas State Senators are already considering legislation that would award slaves retroactive college credit in lieu of reparations.

THE BLACK RACE IS AT WAR

FIRST WORLD WAR:  THE APPROXIMATELY 6,000 YEAR WORLD WAR ON AFRICA AND THE BLACK RACE

Original Post

Here is a KEY  ISSUE. We must first recognize that the Black Holocaust is not acknowledged in the so-called culture.

Here’s what I mean. When people in the mass culture think of the Jewish Holocaust, they’ve seen enough evidence to know that it was a mass scale human murder horror visited upon millions! Yes, it was a horror. When many people in the mass culture think of African Americans, they don’t have the same sense of horror as is evoked by the psychotic German-Jewish Holocaust.

Now there's a (first of its kind!)  movie, 12 Years a Slave. This hell realm must no longer be kept as if a secret. Griots speak up. Let the horror be depicted through the mass media in order to correct history!

That which was visited upon African Americans also remains a problem because the Nation  does not acknowledge this. This is human nature in general, not just of whites but applies without exception every one! We need  to tell the Story  with Power in Our Voice.

We know that the Turks still refuse to publicly confess that they committed genocide to over one million Armenian souls. Too much to face! The German people seemed not to notice whole trainloads upon  trainloads of Jews being shipped out  in cattle cars. Of course, they knew but likely did not want to admit it even to themselves.  That’s how horror works. “We didn’t know”, they say.It did not compute. Too many contradictions to face.

It STILL has to be put into our nation’s psyche. Truth counts. The hundreds of horror years inflicted upon enslaved  African Americans  is without doubt, an EQUAL HORROR to the JEWISH HOLOCAUST. Obviously . . . to some of us.

The Germans have worked on facing their Inner-Nazi. They do not deny the UNSPEAKASBLE HORROR  executed by the Nazis. Compare this with the American tragedy,  centuries  of holocaustic  horror and wrathful terror hurled upon African slaves,

Can we as a nation, solely in terms, of being historically honest, see the universal human tendency not to face facts. Not so much.

Holocaust denial is the norm for nation killers. The story has to be made even clearer. How many black rightists, as said by Koco, even discuss Leopold II of Belgium?  The story must be told in boldface.

The majority of holocaust/genocide denial is purely out of sheer arrogance and propaganda psychology designed to make the Victims look like liars or exaggerators or that they deserved to be done that way if anyone does believe it is true.  It is only a fringe benefit that it also serves as coping mechanism for the descendants of the perpetrators of such primal, sub-human, crimes against humanity to keep them from questioning their "leaders".

Years ago in college...I took a history course.  It was suppose to be about the entire history of America...but!  African American history was excluded.  I went to the department and ask why.  Didn;t know I was getting someone in trouble.  I was very young then.  But come to find out the teacher did it deliberately.  He was repremanded[sp] can't remember what happened to him but I do know something was done.  But this is like deja vu all over again.  Interns? Us.  Unpaid interns? Wow!  Now that's special.   Massa will do EVERYTHING he can to mask his horrific crimes against humankind.      He just can't face it.  Most cowards can't.   But!

Yeah, the TRUTH about Slavery exposes just how abnormally high the percentage of psychopaths and sociopaths and mental derangement there has to have existed within the group of perpetrators; since they still exists, and in high places in society, like those of teachers, police officers, judges, politicians, legislators, and even doctors and psychologists, they have to continually white-wash all they can to cloak that fact from normal, sane, human beings, or it would be they, the sociopaths and psychopaths and mentally deranged that are not accepted by society and force onto the fringes of existence, instead of their victims.
