St. Jerome's Immaculate Error [Revised]

In error, I posted the name St. Augustine, I apologize -- Also see "THE SEPTUAGINT AND THE "VIRGIN-BIRTH" FRAUD."



St. Jerome anticipated the dogma of the immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary, and his ominous word, Roma locuta est, causa finite est, might almost be quoted in favour of the Vatican decree of papal infallibility." --

Schaff (op. cit., p. 98) says Harnack


Lineage--If Jesus [Iyesu] was born of a mortal woman (Mary) and an immortal spirit (GOD) then ancestral ties to David or Joseph are not applicable.

If [however] Jesus was born of a mortal mother (Mary) and a mortal father (Joseph) the lineage is applicable and therefore speaks to what all "Afrikans" borne in Africa have known for over 4 thousand years --Jesus had a mother and a father whose name was Joseph [Osafo]. -- "The Africans Who Wrote the Bible" by Dr. Alex Darkwah, page 15.

Also, what does the Immaculate Conception have to do with this.

My point was that the doctrine of Immaculate Conception has to do with Mary being born with out original sin in order that Jesus would also be absolved of this "stain". Many people, however, confuse it with doctrine of the virgin birth.

Further, lineage is not compromised given that Mary is a descendant of David, a relationship that she then shares with her son.

But Augustine has no teaching on the immaculate conception of Jesus. The immaculate conception teaching is in reference to Mary, who is a decendant of King David, a lineage she passes on to her son.

Finally, as I have stated in other threads, this Akan ascription is beyond dubious. When Darkwah has any scholarship recognized by the Society of Biblical Literature, the American Academy of Religion, or published in any refereed journal or academic press, I will take him seriously. Until then, his claims are less than specious.
