Yeah, that site is correct. Whoever thought it ended up 1865 was completely wrong because it still continues. Reading about Francis Bok seriously put tears to my eyes because it's so hard to imagine someone had to go through that -- being kidnapped/beaten, forced to sleep w/ animals, being called degrading names and so on. It's very sickening. Even though the war in Sudan is supposed to be over, things like that will probably continue to happen between the Black Sudanese & the nothern Arab Sudandese. I also believe the genocide against Blacks will continue even though the UN cleared the Northern Arabs of genocide Ugh...
I see now they have added another story about a Sri Lankan woman who was enslaved by a Lebanese family...I'm going to read about it now! Stuff like this is pretty common, especially in Saudi Arabia =/

I think the most important part of this issue is know that as principaled people, we have to not let this escape our consciousness. We have to advocate on their behalf.

Slavery is still prevalent in many parts of Africa it's known as house-helpers.

It's sooo disturbing, I am just apalled and DISGUSTED that stuff like this is actually still going on as we type
