You know the one...

That song that plays in the background when you're walking down the street. The one that tells everyone watching the movie who you are and what you're about.

Here's mine...

Headstrong
by Trapt

Circling, you're circling, you're circling you're head
Contemplating everything you ever said
Now I see the truth
I got a doubt
A different motive in your eyes and now I'm out
See you later
I see your fantasy, you wanna make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, inside of our heads
Well now that's over
I see your motives inside decisions to hide

Back off
I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong, headstrong, we're headstrong
Back off
I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong, and this is not where you belong

I can't give everything away
I won't give everything away

Conclusions manifest
Your first impression's got to be your very best
I see you're full of shit and that's all right
That's how you play I guess you get through every night
Well now that's over
I see your fantasy, you wanna make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, inside of our heads
Well now that's over
I see your motives inside, decisions to hide

Back off
I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong, headstrong, we're headstrong
Back off
I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong, and this is not where you belong

I can't give everything away
I won't give everything away

I know
I know all about,
I know
I know all about
I know all about your motives inside
And your decision to hide

Back off
I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong, headstrong, we're headstrong
Back off
I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong, and this is not where you belong

I can't give everything away
This is not where you belong
I won't give everything away
This is not where you belong
This is not where you belong

Original Post
I have a few - depending on the circumstance.

Before I enter a professional battle it is "Deacon Blues". Upon winning, they are "Another One Bites the Dust", and "We are the Champions".

When I am just chillin', all is right in my world, they are "Cherish the Day", "All Day Music", "As","and "Golden Lady".

When I am feeling sad, they are "King of Sorrow" and "Only Love can Break Your Heart".

When I am feeling great and in the mood to party a bit, they are "Yeah", "No-Diggity" or almost anything Parliament/Funkadelic/Bootsy, Tower of Power, and EWF.

My spiritual themes are "Melodies From Heaven", "Unspeakable Joy", and "Thank You".

Theme From Shaft

Who's the black private dick
That's a sex machine to all the chicks?
SHAFT!
Ya damn right!

Who is the man that would risk his neck
For his brother man?
SHAFT!
Can you dig it?

Who's the cat that won't cop out
When there's danger all about?
SHAFT!
Right On!

They say this cat Shaft is a bad mother
SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
I'm talkin' 'bout Shaft.
THEN WE CAN DIG IT!

He's a complicated man
But no one understands him but his woman
JOHN SHAFT!

PS: Even without the lyrics the instrumentals say it all ... Smile

TRUE STORY: Watch the movie and if you look at the wall calendar behind Shaft's desk, the month and year is January 1971: the month and year of my birth ... Big Grin
A man walks down the street
It's a street in a strange world
Maybe it's the Third World
Maybe it's his first time around
He doesn't speak the language
He holds no currency
He is a foreign man
He is surrounded by the sound
The sound
Cattle in the marketplace
Scatterlings and orphanages
He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says Amen! and Hallelujah!

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al
Call me Al

Theme from Shaft is one of my theme music. Particularly when walking down the street after acomplishing something huge. Actually, I have more of a soundtrack than just a mere theme song.

When I get a date/the digits of a beautiful woman, theme from James Bond 007 plays. When I'm sad, I play REM's "Everybody Hurts."

When super-pissed, usually PE's "Fight The Power" or DMX's "Party Up (Up in Here)".
Freeedom oh!

We were taken away from Africa
and scattered all over
They even tried to take away
our roots and culture
They can take away from us,
our many many men
They take us from our lands and plans
and leave us to suffer

Africa, oh!
calling her sons and daughters
Africa, yah!
We want to go home

So don't congregate Babylon ya none
Repatriation is a must
Don't congregate Babylon ya none
No make no fuss

Set up in a Mozambique
Set up in a Zimbabwe
Set up in a Batswana
All over Africa

We were taken away from africa
and scattered all over
Taken away from Africa
Auctioned on the auction block

They take us on the rocks!
take us on the rocks!
They want us to loose our tacks!
Take us on the rocks!
take us on the rocks!
They want us to stay like that

So don't congrgate Babylon ya none
Repatriation is a must
Don't congregate Babylon ya none
No make no fuss

As we set up in a Nigeria
Set up in a Ghana
Set up in a Ethiopia
Set up in a Keya too

Africa, oh!
caling her sons and daghters
Africa, yah!
We're coming home.

-Augustus Pablo
This is for when I'm angry.... Yep ... I play this when I'm upset ...

Swordsman
Genius/GZA

Chorus:

When a motherfucker steps out his place
And gets slapped in his motherfuckin face
Just because the motherfucker tried to base
The G.O.D., the G.O.D.

And while I see his whole click passes by
Motherfuckers think they qualify
And for those niggaz want to try
The G.O.D., the G.O.D.

Verse One:

Yo
I'm not caught up in politics
I'm no black activist on a so-called scholar's dick
I come through with the Wu and drop math
And versatile freestyles bombs and phonographs
and deliver, all things and other in weight
searched to death, on how living things relate
Cause at a young age, I was molded in a religion I relied on
and got caught up in superstition
Scared to split pole, duck black cats
Once in a while, threw salt over my back
But with knowledge of self from off the shelf
Made things seemed complicated now small like elves
So turn off the lights light a candle, and have a seance
Pull the lid off the Dean Martin scandal
Witches warlocks spooks and holy ghosts
RZA lets defraud the hoax

Chorus

Verse Two:

We were on the same ship when the slaves were checked
I had to pull your card you was on the top deck
So I plotted my escape, I saw the Thin Line Between Love and Hate
And fast from the hog on the plate
I suffered brutal pains, from whips and chains
Punishments that were set to wash the brain
So look listen observe and also respect this jewel
drawed up, di-tect and reflect this
light I shine, that cause my power to be find
through the truth, which manifest through eternal minds
Purified gases and masses the same elements
that helped spark civilization classes
I see brothers quote mad plus degrees
These professin ass niggaz can't feed they own seeds

Chorus 2X
