After reading the long thread on gay marriages and the subsequent discussion about children in same sex unions, I had to ask:

Do you believe that gender exposure is important to a child's development? I want to know do you think boys should have positive male role models to emulate and girls' positive female role models. Do you think that lack of exposure to the same sex role model can have an affect?

I truly believe that gays should be allowed to adopt and raise children.

I know a few gay men who would make TERRIFIC fathers. It's a shame that no one is calling them daddy.

They are great with their nieces and nephews, taking them to the park, out for pizza and ice cream. Spending quality time with them. Being more of a father to them than the men who sired them.

Additionally, what about these troubled women who kill their babies? How sad is that?

What about people who maltreat their children? Just because someone is straight doesn't mean they would make an ideal parent.

The only thing that bothers me about gays raising children is the teasing that children will undoubtedly experience because they have two same-sex parents. But I'm sure it could be worked out.
