Anyone see this below article? Am I wrong for being annoyed by this? R.Kelly is still making millions off of record sales right?

R. Kelly, who gained fame with songs such as "I Believe I Can Fly," now compares himself to Osama bin Laden (news - web sites).

The R&B singer was indicted last year on child pornography charges after a videotape purportedly showed him having sex with an underage girl. Kelly, 36, who's free on bond, denies the charges.

"People can say whatever they want about you without knowing the facts," Kelly tells Blender magazine in its October issue. "They can criticize you without even knowing you, and hate you when they don't even know you. All of a sudden, you're, like, the bin Laden of America. Osama bin Laden is the only one who knows exactly what I'm going through."

He boasts that song ideas come to him in the kitchen, on the basketball court, everywhere.

"I love music, and music loves me back. We're kind of married, and I'm pregnant by music," Kelly said.

Some of these 14 year olds look like they're 30 and act it. Where was her mother/father? He didn't do this by himself. He's one of millions of sick muthas on this planet and millions of equally sick females are available to help 'em engage in their sexual deviations and beyond. However, I love his video where folks are dancing on a yacht, and he dances by himself at the end. Saw it for the first time last week. Don't know the name; love the video!!
It's good to hear R Kelly denies the charges. For all of you who are quick to denounce your own kind, how about innocent until proven guilty heh? With fellow blacks acting like this who needs enemies.

I agree with Norland until you have seen it with your own eyes and experienced it you would not believe how MANY 14 year old girls look act and generally behave.

In my time a girl waits until a man comes along and shows an interest in her. Not anymore, I have had teenage girls wolve whistle after me when I have gone for walk in my neighbourhood. My 11 year old daughter goes to a girls high school and when I go to pick her up after school on many occasions girls between 14 and 16 years brazingly come up to the car to actually chat me up. Like I said you have to see it or experience it to know who actually is the victim here. Talk of entrapment, the whole incident smacks of it. This I do know if R Kelly was guilty and being a blackman and they have proof of his guilt, he wouldn't be walking free.

Only in America is where when a Kennedy is accused of sexual misconduct he walks free because he is white. On the other hand a blackwoman invites herself to a black boxers hotel room at 2.00 in the morning then accuses the poor guy of sexual misconduct and he is sent to jail.

Like I said who needs enemies when we are busy tearing each other down like crabs.

Hold up, if the shoe was on the other foot what would be saying? For example if an entertainer like Janet Jackson, Mary J Blige went out and found a 14, 15 or 16 year old boy and had sex with him, videotaped it and then denied the entire thing would you all be so forgiving? Would you say Mary or Janet, they didn't do it? That young boy was very mature, he had an athletic build, he looked older than his age, he was hanging out all times of night with his boys. Would you be as condescending as I hear you all are now? I expect this "he's not guilty" attitude from the brothers, at least some of the brothers. I can't see it coming from a sister! I don't give a damn if a girl is out there trying to be grown, the point is they are trying because they are not adults. When you become an adult you're supposed to put away childish things. What in the hell was R. Kelly doing screwing a 14 year old girl?! And videotaping it none the less?! He is a grown man and as such has the responsibility to act like one!
Misogyny from brothers is SO disturbing! Please save that R.Kelly is innocent bullshit for somewhere else! Especially in light of all the sexual assaults that happen in our community each year. Give me a F***ing break!

Our people have made the mistake of confusing the methods with the objectives. As long as we agree on objectives, we should never fall out with each other just because we believe in different methods, or tactics, or strategy. We have to keep in mind at all times that we are not fighting for separation. We are fighting for recognition as free humans in this society

Yssys I think you are missing the point. No one is forgiving or excusing anybody. The point is a person is INNOCENT until proven guilty. Until that day he is innocent and should be treated as such, especially by his own people. What is wrong is for fellow blacks to act as a lynch mob without the accused having his or her day in court, that is the point.

Maybe I have a differing view on this. I don't know how much you know about American "justice" (I'm using this term loosely.) But R. Kelly has already been indicted, which means that the charges were enough to have him taken to criminal court. It has been almost a year since the indictments. He has NO court date as of yet and has been allowed to roam around the country promoting his latest CD and have concerts. Yet you have Kobe Bryant who's court date was set in less than 3 months after the accused filed a report against him. Now what in the world is the difference between Kobe and R. Kelly? There are a bunch of hankerchief head negroes in Chicago rallying for this man's innocence when they've got the acts on videotapes being SOLD on the internet! And Kelly is hiding behind his supporters. If that's not racial/sexism I don't know what is! At least Kobe is willing to stand up like a man and admit that he did wrong. While R.Kelly's trifling azz is hiding behind the alleged "fastness" of a 14 year old, high priced record label lawyers and dumb negroes. It's time to stop this madness and get his ass in court, find him guilty as charged and let these folks get on with their lives!
I see. That puts a different stance on the whole case. Nothing like you mentioned has been revealed in the original post. This now confirms in my mind that he has to be innocent because no sane authority would allow the evidence to circulate in the public domain like you have described.

Your way of doing things in the US is very strange. For example in the UK if this video is circulating as you said it would destroy the case and the Judges would throw the case out when it came to a hearing as they jury would be prejudised. To prevent this the prosecution would take out injunctions to stop such a thing from happening unless they know the video out there is not genuine.

American justice sounds more and more like the laws of the jungle the more you hear about it. One law for the rich and influential and another for the poor.

Despite this I would still stress let the man have his day in court. If he is guilty he would go down. I also believe that if the video you say is circulating is genuine the authorities would have had the case done and and dusted by now because that is the evidence and they have it.

What I know is I am a professional myself in computer graphics and video editing. I can show a clip of you having sex with Dubya himself if I lay hands on an original video clip of you. All I would do is manipulate the footage using some powerful computer software out there. The video is more than likely a fake and has been put out by people hoping to make a fast buck.

My suspicion is the authorities do not have ANY evidence that is why the there has been no date set for a hearing. Talk to any lawyer and they would confirm what I am saying that the prosecution does not drag its feet when they know they have a solid case and are going to win in court.

I believe this why there is support building up for the brother as you say. I believe these brothers can see it is the system out to destroy one of our own that is making it on his own.

Henry, in the US, "Innocent until proven guilty" is a concept in the court room only, and it has no bearing on public opinion. It means that the jury must consider him innocent under the law until proven guilty under the law. I could believe in my heart that a person is guilty, but if I'm on the jury, I must only vote him guilty if the evidence presented in court meets the legal standard of proof that the judge teaches me and the other jurors. The term "innocent until proven guilty" in no way acts as a limit on public opinion. And it SHOULDN'T be. To suggest that a legal doctrine should limit opinion is fascist. In the US, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Yssys and myself believing a person is guilty before he's proven guilty in a court of law. And, for that matter, there is nothing self-hating about believing it as well. I never saw the video, but a lot of people I know did.

And anyway, the video circulated before he was charged, and if no date has been set yet, it probably has to do with the problems arising from the video being in such mass circulation.
Yssys, I'm sorry that R. Kelly sexed that 13 yr. old girl; I feel sorry for her and her parents. I feel sorry for the whole deal and the way it did or did not go down. I apologize to you. Butttttttttt, R. Kelly looks fffffiiiinnnnneeee in that white suit; white hat, yella bandana. The boat is beautiful. The folks are dressed fine, fine, supa fine. Everyone looks elegant. When "Step in the Name of Love" or whateva the dag-gone name is, comes across my TV, Norland goes to another planet. I lubs dat video. I steps allllll ova da houze!!! Shoot, nowadays, there's only 1-1/2 folks that can sing. Sorry, but that's just my opinion. If I saw a brotha walking in my direction, dressed like he is in that video, equally as handsome, I'm sorry, but I'd forget my age in a heartbeat; age be damned!!!!!!!!! fro
Aight look, I'm from Chicago. And every black person in Chicago, in the ghetto that is, knows R. Kellly's business. I can tell you the girl's name, what high school she went to, what kind of car R.Kelly bought her and what her parents really had to say about it. But that would be spreading gossip. I will say this though, NOBODY believes he didn't have sex with that girl. The pastor of my church preached a sermon about the video and R.Kelly's wicked ways. Also, I know for an absolute fact that R.Kelly has and continues to hit on girls who he knows are underage. What else can he expect when he picks up girls at his ex-high school? Don't get me wrong, I love his music. But like my aunt said "I can still buy his cd's while he's in jail".
