I'm listening to Prince's Greatest Hits. 1999. Makes me remember back to my New Year's Eve. The BIG ONE. Y2K.

After all those years being conditioned that I needed to "party like it's 1999" ... I even bought a $100 bottle of French champagne.

Then I got the flu. I spent that night with a 102 degree fever and the chills. It really really sucked.

Then I spent $200 so a doctor could tell me what I already knew and prescribe some drugs ...

It really really sucked ...
Peace....

People are becoming too impatient...

Nowadays when the signal at the train tracks warns of the coming of a train, and the safety arms lower to prevent drivers from going across, people just veer around the arms, and race past anyway...not just one person, but several people do this...

People weren't always in such a rush...

Kai
Male or female, and no matter how ordinary a person may look.... when you are face to face listening to someone speak about a topic they are passionate about* and their face lights up a smile... for a moment, a true and unique beauty shines across their face. It's very cool. Smile

(*except perhaps politics Wink)
Peace....

" I know that you are from the suburbs dogg....We are from the hood man...Try to keep up.."

Being fgrom the hood has somehow morphed into becoming the standard for blackness...

I am not really complaining about this just making an observation....

What the hell does THAT mean?

Sounds BORING.

Dammit! I don't wanna be 'safe' -- so I'm gonna have to change my ways.

Roll Eyes

Girl I know how you feel, I have gotten that before too and "your cool, your not like other girls, i'm glad we're friends." td6

That's 'exactly' what I mean mspretty.

And I think I'd be insulted if I didn't love these guys so much. But hey, for 'some' man out there *I* ain't SAFE.

Trust me, you two, you would rather be considered safe than to have men run away from you because you have "sneeky eyes". What the hell? So, I guess I always look like I am up to something and can't be trusted?? Just stupid!

aaaah... men, you gotta love 'em. Roll Eyes Cool

IMHO we women are stuck in this weirdo pantomine of male expectations that range between (and include) us being smart AND simple, demure and a wild-woman-in-bed ...and everything in between - sometimes all at the same time! cabbage
MMMM...that sounds good! I do that from time to time and I LOVE yellow squash...it's even better when you grow your own!!!

I like to bake the ckicken and I will add corn to the rice, or as a side. Brown is great, but so is basmati and some others. Then, I like to add dried cranberries to the dish....very good!

Olive oil is the best and I love to saute some shrimp, peas, tomatoes, yellow squash and the like with shrimp...serve it over a bed of rice....yummy!

But I just love to cook!!! Healthy cooking is always the best!
Sounds like you have been having alot of bad luck in love lately huh? sck If it makes you fell better I have too ther hug

But seriously i think most people are afraid to be alone, although they may not be conscience of the fear they do have it and for security they keep that person in the wings/back up plan. It's messed up that we do this, ( i say "we" b/c i am guilty of it myself) but at the same time it's a part of human nature to want to be loved and to have the need for companionship.

I have no idea what 'safe' means ... I wish I could find a 'safe' woman ... at least a sane one ...
I almost got in a car accident today.

On a 3-lane highway.

A raggedy-ass little car was swerving in and out of the lanes cutting right in front of the cars he was merging in front of.

He cut from in front of me in the furthermost left lane right in front of a huge tractor trailer that was in the middle lane.

There couldn't have been more than ten feet between the two. Probably less than that.

Cars were honking. The truck HOOOOOOOOONKED that deep low honk and the next thing I know, the nose of the truck was coming at me!

But the funny this is, you'd think I'd be scared shitless. Saying a pray or closing my eyes of something.

I was just criticizing the trucker. "Motherfucker, I didn't cut you off." Thinking that it's not fair to hit me to avoid hitting the one who is causing the shit, I was appalled. Why not hit someone in the right-hand lane?

Reality only creeped in after I realized that's the part of the route that turns into two lanes.

Surprised myself though.

Criticizing the lack of etiquette and unfairness of it all before thinking about getting crushed by a tractor trailer.
Ma left a note on my door today.

"IMPORTANT! A lady called and said it is not going to be there at the place. -Mom"

K. I read that note and asked my mom, what lady? What's "it"? There where?

She said she was tired and didn't pay attention to the rest of the message, assuming I was expecting a call about something being moved somewhere.

I have no clue what she's talking about.

She can't understand my attitude.
Speaking of attitudes ...

What is it about the women in my life [my wife and 11 year old daughter] that they seem to believe that the optimal strategy when caught in the wrong is to be more angry with me than I am with them?

I always thought a simple "Damn, I'm sorry" or in the case of my daughter, "Oops, I'm sorry" would suffice.
