We see it right here on this board...in all kind of diversive ways...all the time! And.... just because YOU say "black folk who criticize Obama are stupid, dumb, ignorant" & blahblahblah...doesn't make it so 'either'.

You're right...you don't have to belittle black folk to get your point across but

unfortunately....

you do.

Well, those who choose to exercise their freedom of speech (when it comes to Obama)...that is.

Koco wrote: BTW: I never used the word "dumb" or etc. Just ignorant and stupid. Dumb is not a word I would use to define some blackfolks' mentality ....nope! I would never call a black person dumb or...etc.

Maybe you're having a memory lapse or something because you 'did'..in fact ...

refer to black people (those who criticize Obama) as dumb mofos.

case in point:

quote:
Koco wrote: *snip* Without the peanut gallery losing their fockin minds??!! Why the fock is that? Some blackfolks are sooooo stupid[thinking they're sooooo smart and] don't even see the accomplishment and the message being sent through the universe. Dumb mofos.

just scroll UP to the start of your BLACK commentary ...it's there.

I have no reason to 'lie' (nor would I). Roll Eyes

Here's more from your rant to refresh your memory:

quote:
*snip* They're not even smart enough to recognize that the rock[which has held us back] has been cracked. Stupid mofos

All they wanna do is run their ignorant mouths and fock it up for the next black man[which I doubt will happen cuz blackfolks don't know HOW to keep their mouth shut...tellin everythang]

I'm guessing 'some' would call this 'tough love'...'truth' & 'history'
(gag & puke)

whatevah.
fro

Yes I did call them [some blackfolks] dumb. Forgot about that!(excuse me for being human) Sometimes during the heat of my rantings I can be guilty of being a loose cannon and slip from time to time using the D word. However, I had recently vowed not to use that word anymore(and yes you are correct I did suffer a short-term memory lapse)....and I do agree with you regarding this that it is not nice to say
"dumb" to define some blackfolks' mentality i.e. mindset cuz for the most part Blackfolks are not dumb and their cognitive ability should not be in question or at issue. However some blackfolks' behavior, through my observation, STILL continues to be at issue...and in question. As is why I will maintain the words: stupid and ignorant. And I never said you were lying. I just didn't remember saying it is all...but!

quote:

I'm guessing 'some' would call this 'tough love'...'truth' & 'history'
(gag & puke)

I careless what SOME would call it. There's one thang about truth and history....you can't change it just cuz you gag and puke.. It is what it is. Otherwise it's not truth or history.

quote:

And.... just because YOU say "black folk who criticize Obama are stupid,
dumb, ignorant" & blahblahblah...doesn't make it so 'either'.

It's a CHOICE of interpretation-there goes that word "choice" again. Although I have removed "dumb" out of the equation...but! I still stand by what I said with the rest of my commentary in which you refer to as blahblahblah. Thing is everything I've stated can be proven in terms of why I said what I said. So to others who are affected as I am will not see my commentary as merely "blahblahblah" as you have suggested....but as I continue to say it's just a matter of CHOICE interpretation. And we all have it...so I'm good. However, I am still perplexed as to why YOU selected to take this commentary so personally when it wasn't even close to being "subjective"...I can only surmised that you wanted to for some reason.

BTW: My commentary had nothing to do with those criticizing Obama not exercising their freedom of speech-Hell…they've been loudly utilizing their freedom of speech regarding him every since the-less-than-a-year he's been in office (oppose to over a hundred and sumthin years of administration time of massa's presidents...nevertheless). I'm just exercising my rights....is all. And my freedom to express it in MY WAY. Nothing more or less. Folks can ALWAYS say sticks and stones can break bones but words cannot hurt or they can disagree with what I've said knowing it doesn't apply to them or they can just simply IGNORE IT. Again....several choices besides the ones I mentioned are always available. Having said that, I am not gonna recant. Nope! Although I am willingly and verbally editing out the word "dumb"...cuz I am woman enough to apologize for using it...cuz it was WRONG.....but! That's it. We will have to just part ways in FULL disagreement of my commentary with the mutual closing thought "whatevah" and call it a day.

"Wisdom Is A Woman Always!"
Hmmmm...they said that Obama would be this great "unifier" but judging by the rift he's caused between Koco and Fab (who are normally like two peas in a pod in their agreements) and undoubtedly countless other Blacks...I wonder if all this is just more divide and conquer...

Why are AA so shocked by batshit crazy white folks? Has it really been that long that people have forgotten that these people used to feel comfortable out in the open.

Maybe my situation is unique in this respect. I was born in '64 in TN just 40 miles from the birthplace of the modern klan. When I was young, almost every other month, on a weekend, the klan would be standing at street corners in full regalia passing out literature and taking donations like a recognized public charity.

In school, I knew kids whose parents were active or at the very least sympathetic. In my senior year of high school, the klan threatened to disrupt our homecoming because the escort for the white homecoming queen was the student body president, who was black. If he bailed, I as student body vice president would be next in the line of fire. Fortunately, they did not show.

I grew up with people driving around in pickup trucks with gun racks and confederate flag tinted windows. I have vague memories of the late sixties and early seventies when folks where getting shot left and right, often by crazy white folk. I remember the old, crazy racist George Wallace when he ran for president.

Did AA's really believe that things had radically changed? Did they really believe that the batshit crazy white folks had gone away? Everywhere I have lived in the US, I have run into these folks. In northern CA and Oregon, there where skin heads. In PA, there was always buzz about the klan, and though I was north of the Mason Dixon line, there where confederate flags on display in many rural locals. In MI, there was still remnants of the militia, not to mention the most segregated urban areas in the US.

Just because we have a black president does not mean that batshit crazy white folks would become a thing of the past. As we see now, they have been emboldened and are crawling out of the wood ork and their "hiddie holes."

What is really funny to watch is now some of the neocon scum of the past few years are actually afraid. They thought that they could control their wacko kinfolk, and they may have been wrong. If this is the case, then I think we do have a new twist in things. You have Ann Coulter chastising the birthers, and members of the republican party going after the eugenics/euthanasia rantings against health care, this is getting interesting.

Maybe I am naive or jaded, but I really don't see these nut jobs getting much traction. I could be wrong, but I think the "real" white folks, the folks with the power, are not going to let these wackos destroy everything. They count on them to do their dirty work, but they will put them down like a rabid dog if they become bent on destruction. At least, that is my take on things at the moment.

The good news is that they are discrediting themselves with their own behavior.

The bad news is that so was Timothy McVeigh.

On the day of Obama's inauguration, I remember the news media shoving a microphone in front of any Black person they could get to speak into it. And I remember so many of them being filled with *hope* and stating that 'today was a new day (for America)' and that 'the tide (of America) had turned' and that 'the day showed that we (America) and they (White people) had moved beyond their prejudices' ... yada, yada, yada.

And I remember wondering if these people were really serious?? Confused If they truly believed/felt that in their hearts and thought that what we are seeing today was really, truly a thing of the past??

I believed on that day that they were very sincere ... and also, most unfortunately misguided.

I find that I, myself, am very conflicted on the issue. This 'new day' America thing is nice ... perhaps even necessary ... and, I suppose, will/would be a good thing. However, on the flip side, I can't see it being achieved without Black people, once again, having to sacrifice the most to achieve it. And in my mind, we've given more than enough to 'the cause' already.

If White folks can't get it together themselves ... and get themselves together ... then that's not our problem. Nor do I want it to be.

fro Amen to thatappl They want us to make it our problem....and quite frankly I've had enough of them thinking we ARE suppose to cater to their every whim/or make them HAPPY....but! The good thing about this presidency is....now they are showing their true COLORS/FACE. And how they REALLY feel with their self-entitlement bullshit and not hiding behind this "we are the world" fallacy. The bottom line is....They HAVEN'T changed one bit...they are as I had ALWAYS thought they were[self-appointing arrogant snobs].....and! I agree how they feel or not feel at this point....it's NOT our problem. Thing is...it NEVER was.

Senator Edward M. Kennedy was the best friend Black folks have EVER had in the U. S. Congress.

NOBODY has ... or probably ever will ... fight as hard or do as much as that man did to make this country a better place for the underclass and underprivileged.

He was an 'unsung' hero ... because most people probably don't even know all that he should be appreciated for.

His leadership will be sorely missed. Frown

I was conflicted on this issue, but no more. While I want to love all people, I'm just of the mindset that certain people just can't be loved; they must be destroyed - and that's really the end all of it. That goes for those outside of us as well as those on the "inside" who'd sell us out and make life miserable for us in any way.

I also agree that we can't get anything together for those who'd be so apt to annihilate us. I don't know about you, but I'm trying to shift my gears to focus only upon those people who have our best interest at heart - and sadly, that does not include some of our own.

I already know what to do about the 'others'. The hard part is dealing with 'our own' who'd just continue to be stupid. Maybe I just have to charge them to the game. We'll see.

"Wisdom Is A Woman Speaking Truth!"
When the Iraqi threw a shoe at George Bush, all talk was "how disrespectful that was" and "no one should ever disrespect a foreign leader in any way". A certain group of people here were calling the gentlemans reaction barbaric, uncivilized etc......
Fast forward to the present and we have a dildo in congress during a live speech, in front of congress, yelling to the president "you lie"!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that disrespectful?

Now the same idiots that said it was wrong for an Iraqi to throw a shoe at a president, all of a sudden are praising this piece of s#!t for his actions. Why is one act acceptable and the other is not?

Just another reason why I find it hard to trust some people. They can never set a standard and stick to it, the rules are always changing to fit their ideals.

Now THAT is a picture perfect description of politics, the government, Democrats, Republicans, and both of their Parties as a unit ... both individually and collectively! tfro

At any given moment, it's hard to tell what side of the bouncing ball anybody is actually on. sck
bang Don't you just hate it when you give someone - a Black someone - the heads up on something they are doing [associating closely with a malcontent that uses other people to advance his personal agenda] might not be a good career move ... and you made a point of telling them that something because ... well ... they are Black.

And, that Black runs directly to the malcontent [a white guy] and tells him "{Kweli4Real} just stopped me in the hall to tell me that I shouldn't associate with you because you might use me for your own purposes." bang

Well guess what just happenned ... the malcontent used my giving the heads up to the Black employee in order to argue that the administration has it out for him. bang

Note to self: Add entry to the "See ... This Is Why Can't Get Ahead" file.

Note to self: If out of control bus is hurtling in THAT Black employee's direction ... DON'T SAY A F'ING WORD. Instead, wait until they get creamed, then lean over them shaking your head empathetically and say "Wow ... Who could'a saw that big-a$$ bus coming?"

Now question:

Do I put "sista-gurl" on blast? Or, since she's clearly usable, do I use her to accomplish MY ends?
Most of the time, for people like that, a *blast* isn't any more affective than a *heads-up*. Either way, you usually get the same result. Roll Eyes

I'm really trying to see what all the hoopla is about the lyrics the children are taped singing in Philly, and I just don't see the big deal.
From what I see it was just trying to instill some positive thoughts into yong minds.

Then again, I've been told I was brainwashed so maybe the children and myself are "Manchurian Candidates"? 19
Will I ever get my "black card" back???????

I went to see Chicago 2 weeks ago play at a casino in Tunica. I got that "what are you doing here" look a few times from whites and blacks. I get home and I'm asked why did you want to see Chicago? "We" don't listen to that kind of music.
What "we" are they referring to and what type of music do "we" listen to?

I guess I'm still on probation
****sigh****........ hat

Excellent concert by the way. Played all of the classics. bow

Isn't Chicago similar in style to Toto and Hall &Oates? Are they kidding me? Now mind you I wouldn't have paid to see them, BUT dang they sure do try hard to sound like R&B without sounding like R&B! lol

I was doing some thinking in response to Baiwen's recent question ... and the fact that slaveholders sold and separated MANY of our families from each other, often to other states or regions, means that we don't really know WHO may or may not be a blood relative to us! Eek

We know the (immediate) family that we know ... but there is so much uncertainty stemming from the evil that was perpetrated on our ancestors ... and continues to plague us as a people. sck

Truly random thought: I'm still pretty mad that Africana.com was bought out by AOL and turned into the trash now known as Black Voices. Africana had depth and breadth covering little known stories on the African Diaspora, but important news for our people world wide. Black Voices, I don't care how 'deep' they think they are are still limited to stupid American news from stupid American only views. They lack any staff diversity like the old Africana did. Baltimore was hit by a double whammy blizzard that we're calling "Snowmagedden" 'round here.  Almost 5 feet of snow in a 4 day stretch was, I must confess, a little frightening.  Since I'm recovering from a total knee replacement,  I felt helpless and vulnerable in my little row house.  My son couldn't get home from his campus, so I was alone.  Then, something I never would have predicted happened.  In the 2 day lull between snow bombardments, my neighbors rallied together for survival.  Our whole city block was shoveled out, stem to stern.  The fifteen-year-old next door (whom I've never seen holding a shovel or any other type of workman's tool) cleaned off my steps and walkway to my enormous relief (nothing spurs claustrophobia like no visible way out).  I couldn't shovel and dig, but I did supply cocoa and tea to anyone who wanted it.
Usually my neighbors will find some astrological anomaly to study rather than give the old hello nod or a random "howyadoin'" so it was pleasant to see them all come together in a time of crisis.  "Cause in the end we're all in it together.
After the second storm, we hired an intrepid entrepreneur with a snow blower.

Condemned inmate who overdosed back in Ohio prison

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Officials say an Ohio inmate who intentionally overdosed on pills hours before his scheduled execution has returned to prison and is on suicide watch.

Prisons spokeswoman Julie Walburn says 43-year-old Lawrence Reynolds Jr., who admitted taking an overdose of medication prescribed to him, arrived at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown shortly after noon on Tuesday.

Walburn says Reynolds is isolated from other inmates and under constant observation.

Reynolds was treated at a Youngstown hospital after he was found unconscious in his death row cell Sunday night.

The type of drug he used and why it was prescribed aren't being disclosed. How he accumulated the pills is under investigation.

Reynolds' execution for the 1994 murder of his neighbor near Akron has been rescheduled to next week

Can somebody tell me why the state of Ohio would decide to go through the EXPENSE of saving this man from committing suicide so that they could incur the additional EXPENSE of returning him to Death Row just to execute him later??

I mean ... what kind of geniuses do they have running things up there?    And the next thing you know, they'll be crying in front of the camera about how hard their state has been hit with the recession and the major budget crisis they are facing!  Sheesh.
It was probably around this time in 2008 that we were asking the question, "Are we ready for a Black president?"  At the time, my answer was a resounding 'Hell to the naw!"  These people wasn't ready for anything like that!

But then he got elected ... and I had to say, "Hmmm .. guess I was wrong about that one!"  And I was pretty happy abou that!!

But ... in light of the recent racist reversion back to the '60s ... maybe I was right the first time?
