Now that GEICO is using Rockwell's, "Somebody's Watching Me", is it possible that it is getting more air time than when it first came out?

I don't "get" those commercials. I think they're kind of creepy.

You know ... I don't think those commercials are necessarily made for 'us' to be able to "get"! I think they're ... how shall I say ... targeting a different type of consumer! Big Grin

You are so right. Big Grin Those are some of the "whitest" acting cavemen I've ever seen. In fact, if I were white, I'd sue Geico for stereotyping me!

It's true! The one that gets me is when the caveman goes to the beach with his white GF and she flashes the Geico airplane with her breasts! That is soooooo something a white woman would do. And he just walks back to the car and she's like "okay". I went to school with a lot of white folks who'd break up (and then get back together) over stuff like that. 20

You gotta be kidding me!! lol No, I haven't seen that one!! But .. yeah ... you can't really get any more "White girl" that than! Big Grin

But, the ones that Ocatchings is talking about are like the one where there's a board meeting of execs .. then you hear this screeching kinda noise ... and it's a pully from a window-cleaner platform outside the window with a stack of money with these BIG pair of eyes on top of it! Eek

One guy says, "What's that?"

And the boss says, "That's the money you could be saving with Geico."

I'm sure there's some type of significant meaning to that ... but ... like Isistah says ... I just don't (can't) "get it"! 19
last week was very enlightening for me, as

my good friend continues to fight the good fight.

Unfortunately, her condition has taken a turn for the worse but despite this truth, there is a peace I've never seen/experienced before.

talking to her, you would never know her plight because she continues to be upbeat & positive.

I'm thinking.....

I have grown as a person from this experience...

In ways I never knew existed.
That Home Shopping Network sure is soothing and relaxing... I turn to that channel just to fall asleep. Do they know some sort of secret wavelength that the population is receptive to?

Is this why I feel a strong urge to make 3 easy payments upon awakening in the mornings? lol
My friend died. She's gone. Dead at 38 years of age.

I knew it was coming, we all did. She stopped talking & eating ... she pretty much stopped responding (altogether) the way folk tend to do toward the end.

For those of you who don't know what I mean, well, I hope you NEVER find out.

I've been sitting here watching old videos of us together (performing) with the band...our band. in fact, she recruited me.

at first, I couldn't understand why she wouldn't sing lead because she had such a beautiful voice. . .

but later I learned she was also extremely shy.

We are/were complete opposites in every way.

Now she's gone and it feels strange to know she's gone. . .

it feels strange to know that she'll never open her eyes again.
My deepest sympathies to you too, Fab. Frown

And I DO understand ..... everything. I lost a friend at 27 y/o to cancer just like you. We were opposites, too, but 'best buds' nonetheless. Smile And there were no videos at the time ... just pictures, but they sufficed.

I feel your pain, Sis. And I DO mean that sincerely. hug
