The general media is not reporting it in any big way, but I just hear on the Tavis Smiley show, that crime is back on the rise.

Given the fact that many police officers are also national guardman or reservist presently serving military duties it looks like this may be an opportunity for the criminal element.

Is crime rising, and if so will that be the last straw for the Bush Presidency?

quote:
Homicides in 2002 fell 9.6 per cent against the previous year - which was 2001, when about 2801 were killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

"In 2002, homicides fell to their lowest level since 1963, when Mayor Robert F. Wagner was in City Hall and President John F. Kennedy was in the White House," Kelly said.

The above is about New York, could you believe they used the 9/11 stat to use for the following year's stat to indicate a reduction in crime.

When 9/11 occured, I said to all of my friend "see Guallliani, said he had control over crime but he is the only Mayor that lost two skycrapers, and this was the absolute highest murder rate in history" but the media said the mayor claimed that this was an act of war and as such didn't count in the murder count. Ain't that some dodo? Now they want credit for the reduction of murder rate. See how they do?
