They'll build that sucker, there'll be red and black paint all over it as soon as it's complete. These folks couldn't stand MLK when he was alive; he's been dead a long while and they still can't stand him. Let him rest in peace.  If he was alive, he'd probably tell all living affiliates to kiss his ass, for allowing him to be assassinated. There was no love for him then; don't feign it now.

I don't think they'll build it there, because there has been all kinds of backlash.

I'm sure the person who suggested this had good intentions, but it was a bad idea from the start; I mean, why would African Americans and anyone else who truly believe in Civil Rights [and our Constitution], and Equality, want to see a MLK monument anywhere near racist confederate monuments.  Stone Mountain is where the KKK was started, and it is a place where they used to LYNCH Black people.  How Black people can actually patronize this place, I don't know [and they do].

They have been getting away with it all these years by the actual confederate monument's upkeep being privately funded, but if there is an attorney worth the paper his degree and license if printed on, it should be found that the "mountain"[huge rock] is still Public Property, and therefore, that makes Black people paying vicariously for the upkeep of this confederate 'memorial' to begin with.

African American representatives and the NAACP in Georgia has met with the Governor regarding the whole deal and are campaigning for the 'memorial' to be removed altogether.  Of course the Governor is only going to give lip service to keep his job, but I hope that it can be legally proven that it should never have been allowed to be carved into that 'mountain'/rock in the first place. Either that or enough pressure should be put on the entire state that it will be economically detrimental for them to keep treasonous confederate monuments, etc. on at public property in Georgia [or anywhere else in America].
