Eight years ago the world was on the brink of a grand celebration: the inauguration of a brilliant and charismatic black president of the United States of America. Today we are on the edge of an abyss: the installation of a mendacious and cathartic white president who will replace him.

This is a depressing decline in the highest office of the most powerful empire in the history of the world. It could easily produce a pervasive cynicism and poisonous nihilism. Is there really any hope for truth and justice in this decadent time? Does America even have the capacity to be honest about itself and come to terms with its self-destructive addiction to money-worship and cowardly xenophobia?

Ralph Waldo Emerson and Herman Melville – the two great public intellectuals of 19th-century America – wrestled with similar questions and reached the same conclusion as Heraclitus: character is destiny (“sow a character and you reap a destiny”).

The age of Barack Obama may have been our last chance to break from our neoliberal soulcraft. We are rooted in market-driven brands that shun integrity and profit-driven policies that trump public goods. Our “post-integrity” and “post-truth” world is suffocated by entertaining brands and money-making activities that have little or nothing to do with truth, integrity or the long-term survival of the planet. We are witnessing the postmodern version of the full-scale gangsterization of the world.

The reign of Obama did not produce the nightmare of Donald Trump – but it did contribute to it. And those Obama cheerleaders who refused to make him accountable bear some responsibility.

Obama’s Top 50 Accomplishments

(Also check out the main article, The Incomplete Greatness of Barack Obama, and the issue’s Editor’s Note.)

1. Passed Health Care Reform: After five presidents over a century failed to create universal health insurance, signed the Affordable Care Act (2010). It will cover 32 million uninsured Americans beginning in 2014 and mandates a suite of experimental measures to cut health care cost growth, the number one cause of America’s long-term fiscal problems.

2. Passed the Stimulus: Signed $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009 to spur economic growth amid greatest recession since the Great Depression. Weeks after stimulus went into effect, unemployment claims began to subside. Twelve months later, the private sector began producing more jobs than it was losing, and it has continued to do so for twenty-three straight months, creating a total of nearly 3.7 million new private-sector jobs.

3. Passed Wall Street Reform: Signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010) to re-regulate the financial sector after its practices caused the Great Recession. The new law tightens capital requirements on large banks and other financial institutions, requires derivatives to be sold on clearinghouses and exchanges, mandates that large banks provide “living wills” to avoid chaotic bankruptcies, limits their ability to trade with customers’ money for their own profit, and creates the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (now headed by Richard Cordray) to crack down on abusive lending products and companies.

4. Ended the War in Iraq: Ordered all U.S. military forces out of the country. Last troops left on December 18, 2011.

5. Began Drawdown of War in Afghanistan: From a peak of 101,000 troops in June 2011, U.S. forces are now down to 91,000, with 23,000 slated to leave by the end of summer 2012. According to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, the combat mission there will be over by next year.

6. Eliminated Osama bin laden: In 2011, ordered special forces raid of secret compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in which the terrorist leader was killed and a trove of al-Qaeda documents was discovered.

7. Turned Around U.S. Auto Industry: In 2009, injected $62 billion in federal money (on top of $13.4 billion in loans from the Bush administration) into ailing GM and Chrysler in return for equity stakes and agreements for massive restructuring. Since bottoming out in 2009, the auto industry has added more than 100,000 jobs. In 2011, the Big Three automakers all gained market share for the first time in two decades. The government expects to lose $16 billion of its investment, less if the price of the GM stock it still owns increases.

8. Recapitalized Banks: In the midst of financial crisis, approved controversial Treasury Department plan to lure private capital into the country’s largest banks via “stress tests” of their balance sheets and a public-private fund to buy their “toxic” assets. Got banks back on their feet at essentially zero cost to the government.

9. Repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”: Ended 1990s-era restriction and formalized new policy allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military for the first time.

10. Toppled Moammar Gaddafi: In March 2011, joined a coalition of European and Arab governments in military action, including air power and naval blockade, against Gaddafi regime to defend Libyan civilians and support rebel troops. Gaddafi’s forty-two-year rule ended when the dictator was overthrown and killed by rebels on October 20, 2011. No American lives were lost.

11. Told Mubarak to Go: On February 1, 2011, publicly called on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to accept reform or step down, thus weakening the dictator’s position and putting America on the right side of the Arab Spring. Mubarak ended thirty-year rule when overthrown on February 11.

12. Reversed Bush Torture Policies: Two days after taking office, nullified Bush-era rulings that had allowed detainees in U.S. custody to undergo certain “enhanced” interrogation techniques considered inhumane under the Geneva Conventions. Also released the secret Bush legal rulings supporting the use of these techniques.

13. Improved America’s Image Abroad: With new policies, diplomacy, and rhetoric, reversed a sharp decline in world opinion toward the U.S. (and the corresponding loss of “soft power”) during the Bush years. From 2008 to 2011, favorable opinion toward the United States rose in ten of fifteen countries surveyed by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, with an average increase of 26 percent.

14. Kicked Banks Out of Federal Student Loan Program, Expanded Pell Grant Spending: As part of the 2010 health care reform bill, signed measure ending the wasteful decades-old practice of subsidizing banks to provide college loans. Starting July 2010 all students began getting their federal student loans directly from the federal government. Treasury will save $67 billion over ten years, $36 billion of which will go to expanding Pell Grants to lower-income students.

15. Created Race to the Top: With funds from stimulus, started $4.35 billion program of competitive grants to encourage and reward states for education reform.

16. Boosted Fuel Efficiency Standards: Released new fuel efficiency standards in 2011 that will nearly double the fuel economy for cars and trucks by 2025.

17. Coordinated International Response to Financial Crisis: To keep world economy out of recession in 2009 and 2010, helped secure from G-20 nations more than $500 billion for the IMF to provide lines of credit and other support to emerging market countries, which kept them liquid and avoided crises with their currencies.

18. Passed Mini Stimuli: To help families hurt by the recession and spur the economy as stimulus spending declined, signed series of measures (July 22, 2010; December 17, 2010; December 23, 2011) to extend unemployment insurance and cut payroll taxes.

19. Began Asia “Pivot”: In 2011, reoriented American military and diplomatic priorities and focus from the Middle East and Europe to the Asian-Pacific region. Executed multipronged strategy of positively engaging China while reasserting U.S. leadership in the region by increasing American military presence and crafting new commercial, diplomatic, and military alliances with neighboring countries made uncomfortable by recent Chinese behavior.

20. Increased Support for Veterans: With so many soldiers coming home from Iraq and Iran with serious physical and mental health problems, yet facing long waits for services, increased 2010 Department of Veterans Affairs budget by 16 percent and 2011 budget by 10 percent. Also signed new GI bill offering $78 billion in tuition assistance over a decade, and provided multiple tax credits to encourage businesses to hire veterans.

21. Tightened Sanctions on Iran: In effort to deter Iran’s nuclear program, signed Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act (2010) to punish firms and individuals who aid Iran’s petroleum sector. In late 2011 and early 2012, coordinated with other major Western powers to impose sanctions aimed at Iran’s banks and with Japan, South Korea, and China to shift their oil purchases away from Iran.

22. Created Conditions to Begin Closing Dirtiest Power Plants: New EPA restrictions on mercury and toxic pollution, issued in December 2011, likely to lead to the closing of between sixty-eight and 231 of the nation’s oldest and dirtiest coal-fired power plants. Estimated cost to utilities: at least $11 billion by 2016. Estimated health benefits: $59 billion to $140 billion. Will also significantly reduce carbon emissions and, with other regulations, comprises what’s been called Obama’s “stealth climate policy.”

23. Passed Credit Card Reforms: Signed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act (2009), which prohibits credit card companies from raising rates without advance notification, mandates a grace period on interest rate increases, and strictly limits overdraft and other fees.

24. Eliminated Catch-22 in Pay Equality Laws: Signed Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2009, giving women who are paid less than men for the same work the right to sue their employers after they find out about the discrimination, even if that discrimination happened years ago. Under previous law, as interpreted by the Supreme Court in Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., the statute of limitations on such suits ran out 180 days after the alleged discrimination occurred, even if the victims never knew about it.

25. Protected Two Liberal Seats on the U.S. Supreme Court: Nominated and obtained confirmation for Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic and third woman to serve, in 2009; and Elena Kagan, the fourth woman to serve, in 2010. They replaced David Souter and John Paul Stevens, respectively.

26. Improved Food Safety System: In 2011, signed FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, which boosts the Food and Drug Administration’s budget by $1.4 billion and expands its regulatory responsibilities to include increasing number of food inspections, issuing direct food recalls, and reviewing the current food safety practices of countries importing products into America.

27. Achieved New START Treaty: Signed with Russia (2010) and won ratification in Congress (2011) of treaty that limits each country to 1,550 strategic warheads (down from 2,200) and 700 launchers (down from more than 1,400), and reestablished and strengthened a monitoring and transparency program that had lapsed in 2009, through which each country can monitor the other.

28. Expanded National Service: Signed Serve America Act in 2009, which authorized a tripling of the size of AmeriCorps. Program grew 13 percent to 85,000 members across the country by 2012, when new House GOP majority refused to appropriate more funds for further expansion.

29. Expanded Wilderness and Watershed Protection: Signed Omnibus Public Lands Management Act (2009), which designated more than 2 million acres as wilderness, created thousands of miles of recreational and historic trails, and protected more than 1,000 miles of rivers.

30. Gave the FDA Power to Regulate Tobacco: Signed the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (2009). Nine years in the making and long resisted by the tobacco industry, the law mandates that tobacco manufacturers disclose all ingredients, obtain FDA approval for new tobacco products, and expand the size and prominence of cigarette warning labels, and bans the sale of misleadingly labeled “light” cigarette brands and tobacco sponsorship of entertainment events.

31. Pushed Federal Agencies to Be Green Leaders: Issued executive order in 2009 requiring all federal agencies to make plans to soften their environmental impacts by 2020. Goals include 30 percent reduction in fleet gasoline use, 26 percent boost in water efficiency, and sustainability requirements for 95 percent of all federal contracts. Because federal government is the country’s single biggest purchaser of goods and services, likely to have ripple effects throughout the economy for years to come.

32. Passed Fair Sentencing Act: Signed 2010 legislation that reduces sentencing disparity between crack versus powder cocaine possessionfrom100 to1 to 18 to1.

33. Trimmed and Reoriented Missile Defense: Cut the Reagan-era “Star Wars” missile defense budget, saving $1.4 billion in 2010, and canceled plans to station antiballistic missile systems in Poland and the Czech Republic in favor of sea-based defense plan focused on Iran and North Korea.

34. Began Post-Post-9/11 Military Builddown: After winning agreement from congressional Republicans and Democrats in summer 2011 budget deal to reduce projected defense spending by $450 billion, proposed new DoD budget this year with cuts of that size and a new national defense strategy that would shrink ground forces from 570,000 to 490,000 over the next ten years while increasing programs in intelligence gathering and cyberwarfare.

35. Let Space Shuttle Die and Killed Planned Moon Mission: Allowed the expensive ($1 billion per launch), badly designed, dangerous shuttle program to make its final launch on July 8, 2011. Cut off funding for even more bloated and problem-plagued Bush-era Constellation program to build moon base in favor of support for private-sector low-earth orbit ventures, research on new rocket technologies for long-distance manned flight missions, and unmanned space exploration, including the largest interplanetary rover ever launched, which will investigate Mars’s potential to support life.

36. Invested Heavily in Renewable Technology: As part of the 2009 stimulus, invested $90 billion, more than any previous administration, in research on smart grids, energy efficiency, electric cars, renewable electricity generation, cleaner coal, and biofuels.

37. Crafting Next-Generation School Tests: Devoted $330 million in stimulus money to pay two consortia of states and universities to create competing versions of new K-12 student performance tests based on latest psychometric research. New tests could transform the learning environment in vast majority of public school classrooms beginning in 2014.

38. Cracked Down on Bad For-Profit Colleges: In effort to fight predatory practices of some for-profit colleges, Department of Education issued “gainful employment” regulations in 2011 cutting off commercially focused schools from federal student aid funding if more than 35 percent of former students aren’t paying off their loans and/or if the average former student spends more than 12 percent of his or her total earnings servicing student loans.

39. Improved School Nutrition: In coordination with Michelle Obama, signed Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act in 2010 mandating $4.5 billion spending boost and higher nutritional and health standards for school lunches. New rules based on the law, released in January, double the amount of fruits and vegetables and require only whole grains in food served to students.

40. Expanded Hate Crimes Protections: Signed Hate Crimes Prevention Act (2009), which expands existing hate crime protections to include crimes based on a victim’s sexual orientation, gender, or disability, in addition to race, color, religion, or national origin.

41. Avoided Scandal: As of November 2011, served longer than any president in decades without a scandal, as measured by the appearance of the word “scandal” (or lack thereof) on the front page of the Washington Post.

42. Brokered Agreement for Speedy Compensation to Victims of Gulf Oil Spill: Though lacking statutory power to compel British Petroleum to act, used moral authority of his office to convince oil company to agree in 2010 to a $20 billion fund to compensate victims of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico; $6.5 billion already paid out without lawsuits. By comparison, it took nearly two decades for plaintiffs in the Exxon Valdez Alaska oil spill case to receive $1.3 billion.

43. Created Recovery.gov: Web site run by independent board of inspectors general looking for fraud and abuse in stimulus spending, provides public with detailed information on every contract funded by $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Thanks partly to this transparency, board has uncovered very little fraud, and Web site has become national model: “The stimulus has done more to promote transparency at almost all levels of government than any piece of legislation in recent memory,” reports Governing magazine.

44. Pushed Broadband Coverage: Proposed and obtained in 2011 Federal Communications Commission approval for a shift of $8 billion in subsidies away from landlines and toward broadband Internet for lower-income rural families.

45. Expanded Health Coverage for Children: Signed 2009 Children’s Health Insurance Authorization Act, which allows the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to cover health care for 4 million more children, paid for by a tax increase on tobacco products.

46. Recognized the Dangers of Carbon Dioxide: In 2009, EPA declared carbon dioxide a pollutant, allowing the agency to regulate its production.

47. Expanded Stem Cell Research: In 2009, eliminated the Bush-era restrictions on embryonic stem cell research, which shows promise in treating spinal injuries, among many other areas.

48. Provided Payment to Wronged Minority Farmers: In 2009, signed Claims Resolution Act, which provided $4.6 billion in funding for a legal settlement with black and Native American farmers who the government cheated out of loans and natural resource royalties in years past.

49. Helped South Sudan Declare Independence: Helped South Sudan Declare Independence: Appointed two envoys to Sudan and personally attended a special UN meeting on the area. Through U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice, helped negotiate a peaceful split in 2011.

50. Killed the F-22: In 2009, ended further purchases of Lockheed Martin single-seat, twin-engine, fighter aircraft, which cost $358 million apiece. Though the military had 187 built, the plane has never flown a single combat mission. Eliminating it saved $4 billion.

The next four years of Obama presidency are filled with unprecedented accomplishments as well however since the win of the new presidency, I haven't heard a LOUD ENOUGH words from the likes of Cornel West coon #1, Tarvis Smiley coon #2 and Michael Dyson coon #3, who I fondly call the three musketeers of coonery who did nothin but denounced my president since his first day in office.  And I have yet to hear Al Sharpton.  All I have seen is new coons coming to this President's feet....like those pimp preachers standing up for one of massa''s men.  No Obama didn't stop the world for all the black folks killed on his watch...but!  The black community didn't stop their world to come and defend the many black youths who were killed by black gangs and murderers either.

So once again black people are being willingly BRAINWASHED by the true enemy and as a result?  Those who supposedly represent blackness?  Haven't uttered ONE word.  Even hard-core rappers are succumbing....turning around and bending over WIDE like they do in prison life.  But yet after eight years, folks still wanna blame my president for the black community NOT standin up to  its OWN people who murder each other while black leaders REMAIN silent.  Why is that?  Ain't sayin that it isn't police brutality out there but it's been police brutality in America before and after Jim Crow....and the fact that many blacks are turning a blind eye to the REAL problem in the black community is a focking insult to the people who fell on the blade for them several decades ago.  All these today's  cowards [including Denzel/Harvey ] I see licking Massa's boots....skinning and grinning being nothing but a coon....these are some of the very same thugs [or celebrities] calling black women bitches, whores, sluts in videos/movies...these are the same criminals bringing drugs and violence in their own  neighborhoods to make their empire without remorse or empathy to those they destroyed while doing it and who looked just like them...and yet their wimp asses crack a big turd smile the minute they are faced with the real ENEMY or social resistance.  These folks are nothing more than noisey coon cowards.   Cuz ain't no body talkin shtye  now.  You hear anything?  Cuz I certainly don't.

So folks can continue blaming my president throwing him under the bus for ignoring all the black killings during his time in office if they want to.  We know doing so is focking easy-cuz there's no backlash.  But the REAL accountability for what has been going on before and  currently in the black community BELONG to all of us.  We dropped the ball in the 80s and 90s when crack cocaine and gang life destroyed not only black neighborhoods but generations of black folks i.e. a form of genocide.  Many of us who didn't raise our children didn't care that these children  suddenly found their way in the foster care system or on the streets raising themselves or shooting at each other.  Obama didn't do that.   He didn't allow that to happen.   We did.  The black parents and family who abandoned their children...did.  So put the blame where it belongs.  And this is EXACTLY why many in this new generation of millennials did not have the critical thinking skills or cognitive ability to see around the corner of their decision NOT TO VOTE.  They rather ride skate boards,  smoke weed and focus on not being disrespected  than to do all they can to ensure on their watch  that democracy and equality that was THERE for them remain present for all.  This dropped ball is not about my president....it's about WE THE PEOPLE.   We are the core of America....We are the POWER of America.  And WE dropped this ball...oh yes we did!

And consequently it will be our fault and our fault ALONE...if we continue to allow the slow dismantlement of the value and principle components of our nation.   We can give all that away by whining if we want to and NOT do anything about it OR we can be BRAVE  and relentless and STAND UP for our way of life.  No one person can do this.  Its takes the citizens.  You know, "the people," Trump is always referring to?  Yeah that would be "us."  Cuz all this puff propaganda is exactly what it is i.e. puff.  To make you believe it is TRUE.  What it really is?  Is a challenge to what you believe.  And if you have common sense and instinct?  It's DESIGNED to break those innate elements down.  Don't let it.  Remember.  We are the real people-not controllable zombies.  We are the true POWER=we are not helpless.   So. Don't let massa continue to bamboozle us psychologically convincing us we are powerless under his commands....we are not...but!  We must pay attention, trust our own instincts and stay courageous.  Most importantly we must  STOP blaming "the black" or blacks for the things done wrong by the known adversary.  That is what divides us.  We must THINK for ourselves.  Always.  And not allow any form of social trickery to influence our unity.  Cuz that's exactly what we now have before us.  Just sayin.  But!

What’s a real pity is that intellectual communist West, like Farrakhan, Duvernay, Chapelle, etc. foolishly enabled Trump by missing the obvious danger and going after Clinton as if there was no difference between the two. Big mistake!  These sort of revolutionary types were all wrong and discouraged voters against Trump.  They helped elect Trump and - in effect - supported his racists.  They were blind-sided, maybe still stuck in 1960s era thinking. That's the pity.  Obama could have maybe done much more for us although his race alone drove them to a racist boiling point.  In hindsight, he could have done much more with financial policy but when he left the stage, he walked off a man. They tried to make him grovel. He walked off standing tall.   That's something.

I don't think it was race alone, because President Obama slacked, or did or said nothing on many occasions when he could/should have.

He left ALL of Bush's policies intact;

He renewed the government's contract with dirty, murderous "Blackwater";

He held democrats at bay when they had the controlling votes in Congress and negotiated and compromised and "bi-partisaned" away Single-Payer, Affordable and/or capped Insurance Premiums;

Racist America's military is all over Africa now with "AFRICOM" expanding exponentially under President Obama;

He ordered or allowed the execution of Gaddafi;

He did nothing, and said practically nothing, and made no Executive Orders or otherwise, while racist cops were/are murdering Black people/African Americans [Black men, Black teenagers, Black women, and even Black children] with complete State-Sanctioned impunity; nor did he say or do a damn thing about the FBI refusing to prosecute murders by cops after the FBI director saying as much;

He flat-out would not have that 'talk' ALL of America needed to hear about race and racism in this country;

He did not lift a finger to attempt to use his clout as President of the United States of America to intervene on behalf of the people of Paupa New Guinea while Indoneshia was/is slaughtering and committing genocide against the Paupa New Guinea People [in order to 'cleanse' the mineral, and precious metals and stones-rich island of Black people, so that they can steal the other half from the Paupa New Guineans;

Said and did nothing as Arabs and their Black African drones continued to murder, enslave and commit genocide against Sudanese;

Did not once try to used his clout/influence as President of the Untied States of America to try and intervene on behalf of the Black/African people still being enslaved in Mauritania;

Did nothing and did not cut off aid to Arab countries that are still enslaving, murdering and sex-slave trafficking African women, girls and boys;

Ordered drone strikes on Syria, knowing full well that thousands (or millions) of innocent men, women and children would be maimed and/or killed;

He literally drank water from Flint without using his authority and the bully pulpit to make sure that Flint's water was really healthy and restructured to come from a clean water source;

He issued an Executive Order to keep millions of Latinos/Hispanics from being deported, while not including Haitian immigrants and asylum seekers;

He issued and Executive Order to spend billions on helping opioid-addicted drug addicts in this country, while not making sure that crack-addicted drug addicts would also be beneficiaries of the same resources/medical help;

And that is just off the top of my head right now, so, it's not like President Obama was without any fault, and I mean not delivering on things that were within his control.

ALl good points. Add to that not busting the Trump-=Russian connection earlier.

I agree.  That's a lot as a matter of fact.  Especially  in a country where the breakdown of a black man is  national "sport."   However what I am blinded by and tone deaf to those who continually spew...he shoulda, coulda...etc about my president without having the insight about what's it like being a  black leader in the powerhouse of white supremacy.    In fact as a collective race,  we all shouda coulda DONE our part to help this brotha along.  Instead he was micromanaged by his OWN race while being BLOCKED at every turn by those adversary WHO DID NOT WANT him in office in the first place.  He had a lot on his plate.....including taking harsh/brutal personal jabs against his wife (who by the way is/was NOT president).

Some Blackfolks want folks to STOP and cater to them....when they won't EVEN stop for their own people.  Many of em  don't wanna do their OWN part.  And will just stand there and watch you bleed unaffected.  So who's calling the kettle black now?  Let's be real.  The man did the best he could.  Like most of us do.  He was clearly in a lion's den while his own folks threw him HATE  every chance they got.  That's not black love.  You don't measure a person by their failures.....you focus on their achievements like you do ALL human being[and how you teach children).  He wasn't a superhero....messiah....savior for the people.  He was merely a man representing the United States of America.  A man who stayed loyal to his family and his work REGARDLESS of how both the black and white peanut gallery threw criticism toward him everyday of his Presidency.  So now we have Trump.  I still don't hear nothing from all those black folks who talked nothing but shyte about my president.  Instead of blaming him....they should have  been working with him and teaching their children to understand freedom of speech, equality and voting rights-which all could be in jeopardy.  That's what the parents of millennials shoulda been doing.

See again.  It's easy to blame my president for all the woes crippling this nation.  Let's see how many of these same blacks gonna blame Trump.  Who by the way hasn't stopped running his mouth since he  became President.  Let's see how brave folks gon be from this point on.     Cuz talk?  Is cheap.  Ask Al, Cornel, Travis etc.  And also those you mentioned?  I agree except for Devernay...cuz she's still kinda young and in my view don't get it totally...yet.  But Chappelle?  They scared his ass fifteen years or so ago as why he left for Africa-hasn't been right or funny since he returned to the states.  And Farrakkan?  I am hoping he is putting action where his commentaries lie.  Sorry it's just that when a group openly subjugate women in their culture?  I know the fight against racism [in America]  isn't about women and children.  And that?  Troubles me only  cuz he is a black man born from a free black woman.  So.  The hypocrisy in his perspective of the world where it relates to black people as a whole...is absolutely foreign to me......cuz for the most part women are excluded and they are very much a vital part of this world.  So maybe its just me.   But!

Ava DuVernay On Tackling Trump: My Plan Is To ‘Resist’

“It’s happening, so the question is: Now what?... My answer is to resist.”

01/12/2017 02:10 pm ET
Kevork Djansezian / Reuters
Ava DuVernay’s documentary “13th” included footage of the racism that occurred at Trump rallies.

Ava DuVernay won’t be sitting around hoping for the best from the incoming Trump administration.

In an interview with Vanity Fair published Thursday morning, the “13th” director said that she plans to resist the “era of ineptitude and audacity and misogyny and ignorance.”

“It’s happening, so the question is: Now what? My answer is not, ‘Well, give him a chance, see how it goes,’” she told the publication. “My answer is not, ‘Let’s just support and wait ’til another four years goes by.’ My answer is to resist.”

DuVernay, whose work is often used as a form of political expression, said this is a pivotal time for art to be used as a tool of resistance. Her latest documentary “13th” sparked widespread discussion about the racist methodologies that have led to mass incarceration.

She added: “I also believe there will be some new thoughts. Some new unity, some new art, some new hope and joy that comes out of it from people who are like-minded, gathering together to resist the current administration.”

DuVernay said she’ll be involved in a “public expression of dissent” on the day of Trump’s inauguration, but didn’t dish on the details.

Glen Ford:Republicans had nothing to do with passing Obamacare, and they will not bring the program down. The falsely named Affordable Health Care Act is coming undone on the strength of its own contradictions. It’s not a national health program, at all – “just Obama working a scam for the insurance companies.”  The truth is, the Affordable Health Care Act is coming undone because of its own, tortured internal logic. At root, it is a fraud on the public: a scheme to subsidize and more deeply embed a private insurance system that can only make profits by denying sick and vulnerable people health care, and playing different demographics of Americans against each other. As every other industrialized country in the world has already learned, it is impossible to build a genuine, universal healthcare system on a cut-throat capitalist foundation. Private insurers make money by betting against the health interests of their customers. Obama served his corporate masters by conspiring to make tens of millions more Americans into customers of private insurers. He tried to dress up one of the greatest corporate subsidies in history as if it were a solemn national mission, a rebirth of the social compact between the American people. But of course, Obamacare is no such thing; it is a racket to prop up private insurers with public money, while allowing the profiteers to continue to run the show.''

Stimulus Obama passed, I disagreed with. Socializing debt is a contradiction to the capitalist model that America swears upon. It did not trickle down towards main street, but was a gift to wall street.

Obama's Policies Have Helped Wall St. Fat Cats

From 2009 to 2012, the top 1 percent received 95 percent of income gains, a study by University of California-Berkeley economist Emmanuel Saez indicated.

That’s where you find the “superstars” who make megabucks in sports, entertainment, technology and finance, said economists Steven Kaplan and Joshua Rauh. You’d expect them to do better.

But during the presidency of George W. Bush, the top 1 percent garnered just 65 percent of income growth, Prof. Saez said.

The stock market has set all-time highs despite mostly dismal economic news — thanks to “quantitative easing” (money creation) by the Federal Reserve Board. The top 1 percent own 83 percent of U.S. stocks.

The boon to Wall Street has been a blow to the middle class. Near-zero interest rates undermine savings.

QE was supposed to make credit available to “Main Street” businesses crunched by the recession. That didn’t happen, said Andrew Huszar, point man for the Fed’s bond purchases.

“My program wasn’t helping to make credit any more accessible for the average American,” Mr. Huszar wrote in the Wall Street Journal Nov. 11. “QE may have been driving down the wholesale cost for banks to make loans, but Wall Street was pocketing most of the extra cash.”

The banks also “enjoyed huge capital gains on the rising values of their securities holdings and fat commissions from brokering most of the Fed’s QE transactions,” he said.

Wall Street investment banks also get from federal loan guarantees what amounts to an $83 billion subsidy. “It’s tantamount to giving the banks about 3 cents of every tax dollar collected,” said the editors of Bloomberg View.

...
President Obama has “redistributed” more tax dollars to crony capitalists than to the poor. From the $787 billion “stimulus” that didn’t stimulate, to subsidies for “green” companies that produced more corruption than energy, to Obamacare, every “investment” he has made has produced a windfall for the politically connected but hasn’t helped ordinary Americans.

With regard to war/military conflict:
When Obama was campaigning on ‘Hope and Change’ in 2008, many Americans thought he was committed to implementing future foreign policies that would drift drastically away from the ’war on terror’ initiatives directed under the infamous Bush II administration.

Yet over one year into his Presidency, Obama has actually expanded upon one of Bush’s gross military endeavors: the United States’ drone bombing campaign in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

For many Americans, it is unfathomable to think that Obama has been more gruesome than Bush.  Even putting the two in the same sentence sounds like blasphemy.  But the fact is the Obama administration has used the Predator and Reaper drones much more often than the Bush administration.
The truth hurts.
And the numbers do not lie.  In his first year as President, the United States used the Predator and Reaper drones 53 times, a more than 50% rise from the 36 under Bush in 2008.  In his second year as President, Obama is on track to triple his drone strike total from 2008.

Osama bin ladin's death: No evidence has been provided. No actual footage of the raid.

Seymour Hersh on the killing of bin ladin:
"I had learned about the bin Laden assault from American sources: that bin Laden had been a prisoner of the ISI at the Abbottabad compound since 2006; that Kayani and Pasha knew of the raid in advance and had made sure that the two helicopters delivering the Seals to Abbottabad could cross Pakistani airspace without triggering any alarms; that the CIA did not learn of bin Laden’s whereabouts by tracking his couriers, as the White House has claimed since May 2011, but from a former senior Pakistani intelligence officer who betrayed the secret in return for much of the $25 million reward offered by the US, and that, while Obama did order the raid and the Seal team did carry it out, many other aspects of the administration’s account were false."

There are also reports that the same seal team that allegedly took out bin laden died in a chopper crash. Just sayin....

US jobs report shows growth in part-time, low-wage work

By Andre Damon
4 July 2014

The US economy added 288,000 jobs in June, while the unemployment rate fell to 6.1 percent, according to the latest jobs report issued Thursday by the Labor Department. While the number of new jobs created was higher than in recent months, the new jobs were largely part-time and in low-wage sectors, continuing the trend of replacing better-paid workers laid off during the 2008 crash with lower-paid, more highly exploited employees.

A large share of the growth in employed people was, according to the report, attributable to an increase in workers employed part-time for economic reasons, whose numbers grew by 275,000. These workers, “who were working part time because their hours had been cut back or because they were unable to find a full-time job,” hit 7.5 million. The number of people employed full-time actually dropped.

The Obama administration seized on the jobs report to once again proclaim an economic turnaround. “This is one of the strongest reports we’ve seen since the end of the recession,” said Labor Secretary Thomas E. Perez. “There was good job creation in high-wage, mid-wage and low-wage positions. It was broad-based.”

In reality, jobs growth was again led by low-wage industries. The retail trade sector added 40,000 jobs, while the leisure and hospitality sector, which pays an average of $13.83 per hour, added 39,000. The health care sector added 34,000 jobs. Relatively higher paying sectors lagged behind. The manufacturing sector added only 16,000 jobs, while construction added only 6,000.

"Don't ask don't tell" : Yeah Obama looked out for gays, though it was black folks put him in office more so than the gay community. And was in other countries telling them how to treat their gay community, threating with sanctions. That is not a plus.

Say what one will about Gaddafi, their citizens where doing far more better under his regime than any other nationstate in afrika. Now look at the state of Lybia. Obama shook the man's hand, then turned around and killed. It is reported that Gaddafi was taken out because he wanted to create a centralized afrikan bank and something about putting currency on the gold standard, which if it would've happened that it would've hurt the u.s. fiat petro dollar. So it nothing to be proud of their where Obama is concerned. Regime change is an act of imperialism/hegemony.

I'll come back with more later on.

The fact that the "Affordable Healthcare Act" is really no more than subsidies and a cash-cow scheme for the Insurance Industry and Big Pharma, is the reason that republicans are not going to 'dismantle' it.

The only thing they are going to do is rename it and use rhetoric to give the impression that it's been 'dismantled'.

It's just like all of Trump's racist rhetoric about "build a wall", etc., etc., Latino/Mexican immigrants have nothing to worry about because it is American business owners and corporations, who are also republican donors, that benefit from immigrant labor, and there is no way that republicans are going to interfere with that.

Unfortunately, Wall Street/Big Banks were allowed to extort money out of the United States Government [to recoup their campaign donations] more so due to the "Undue Influence" Wall Street, Big Banks, Big Pharma, Big Agri, Big Oil and Corporations have over our Congress; and this was in the making before President Obama was elected, though he did vote along with the rest of Congress [with very few exceptions] while he was still a Senator.

As far as the jobs market is concerned, it does appear that the numbers are tweaked like hell, but the most fallacious thing about American jobs/market, is the fact that lower unemployment rates do not count for anything anyway because of how long wages have been held down; i.e., 1985-90 wages in a 2016-17 job market cancels out any increase the number of jobs.

When it comes to America's recent/present war campaigns, it's just a damn shame that it's all a just another manufactured scheme for corporations to fleece money from the United States government under the guise of "contracts", and worse, also being engaged in to de-stabilize the so-called "Middle-East" and assassinate leaders like Gaddafi at Zionist Israel's bidding,

Pity…sad…Cornel….always trying to put down or throw a puny ‘revolutionary’ jab at Obama.  Cornel’s living in the 60s with all the other non-voting Trump-enabling supposedly radical revolutionaries.  He tours with ineffective Bob Avakian the so-called  Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party. Sharing sounds 100% right but human animals are greedy. That is truly sad but is why it doesn’t work! The Communist Party is the 1% in China. Chinese people in China are always hustling, trying to start their own business. We should too. 1960s fantasies aren’t our salvation. Pity…sad…Cornel. Try saying something useful.

Cornell West has had some very valid criticisms of President Obama, the same as he's had for other presidents and "leaders" in America.  It's not like he's some person who is always impartial or non-critical and all of a sudden he had criticism only for President Obama.

I have many of the same criticisms, as well as others, of President Obama, and the only reason I give him a partial 'pass' is because I can't be sure that his hands were not being covertly tied behind closed doors.

No one is above criticism, no one is perfect, not even America's first Black President.

Criticizing is our constitutional right as citizens of free speech.  Lets see how smoothly that's going to go over in this new President.    True no one is above criticism but no one is PERFECT either.  All these demands with little or no understanding of a very black not wanted once on the hunted list individual  now in a lion's den  filled with blood-thirsty black-hating perpetrators.  In this room he stands alone without the full 100% support needed from the people in his culture.  At the very least he SHOULD have had that-even if it was pretend.  Cuz his powerful  position was unprecedented and absolutely wont happen again.  We dropped that ball too.  Now there are some black folks  twisted in thinking that black killings across the nation  just happened on Obama's watch.  Wake up people!!  That's like just Trump recently telling John Lewis he's all talk and no action.  We gotta start looking at things COLLECTIVELY as forceful people otherwise our unity to resist this presidency will evaporate soon before it gets started.  And understand that black people were HATED long before Obama came into office.  Long before. How about since slavery.   Just sayin.   But!

Here’s a list of at least 75 times President Obama violated the Constitution and/or broke federal law during his presidency

“The Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives apparently ordered one of its own agents to purchase firearms with taxpayer money, and sell them directly to a Mexican drug cartel,” the New York Postreported. “Let that sink in: After months of pretending that ‘Fast and Furious’ was a botched surveillance operation of illegal gun-running spearheaded by the ATF and the US attorney’s office in Phoenix, it turns out that the government itself was selling guns to the bad guys.”

Even more shocking, President Obama authorized a shipment of guns to the Syrian opposition, a.k.a. ISIS-linked militants, on the exact same day he demanded more gun control in response to the Oregon shooting.

“…The President also emphasized to his team that the U.S. would continue to support the Syrian opposition as Russia enters the war-torn country,” CNN reported in October.

But virtually all of the rebels in Syria have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State since at least 2013.

“The Free Syrian Army and the Syrian National Council, the vaunted bulwarks of the moderate opposition, only really exist in hotel lobbies and the minds of Western diplomats,” journalist Ben Reynolds wrote in November. “There is simply no real separation between ‘moderate’ rebel groups and hardline Salafists allied with al-Qaeda.”

2) Attempting to shut down gun stores outside of law

In a classic case of criminal racketeering, the U.S. Department of Justice was pressuring banks to refuse service to gun stores in a program entitled Operation Choke Point.

Under the program started in 2014 if not before, the DOJ was attempting to shut down legal gun dealers by coercing financial institutions to close the bank and merchant accounts associated with their businesses.

In 2012, Bank of America told a gun company, McMillan Group International, that because the company was expanding into firearms manufacturing, the bank no longer wanted McMillan’s business.

“We have to assess the risk of doing business with a firearms-related industry,” the bank’s representative told operations director Kelly McMillan.

And not long after, BitPay, a U.S.-based bitcoin processor, likewise refused to do business with gun dealer Michael Cargill of Central Texas Gunworks due to a similar policy.

3) Spent tax dollars to re-settle illegals inside U.S.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol has been purchasing bus tickets and vouchers for illegal immigrants in order to ship them deeper into the country at taxpayers’ expense, according to a McAllen, Texas city official.

“They’re not bringing them here, they’re bringing them to our bus terminals because that’s where the Border Patrol understands that they have transportation to go to the interior,” McAllen, Texas City Attorney Kevin Pagan said in an interview with Infowars. “So they’re dropping them off and it’s our understanding that they were dropped off with tickets or with vouchers for tickets, but it turns out that some of them tonight didn’t have their tickets or their vouchers for tickets, or like I said their buses are tomorrow, so they have no where to stay.”

Several months earlier, Obama ordered the Border Patrol to stand down from protecting the border and enforcing immigration laws.

“We are simply being ordered to stand down and stop tracking and trying to apprehend the criminals,” Shawn Moran, Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council, told Breitbart.

4) Using executive action to restrict Second Amendment

Obama decided to use his “pen and his phone” to enact gun control without Congressional approval.

“Without a Democratic majority in Congress, and faced with a GOP that is firmly against any form of gun control measures, Obama has repeatedly warned that he would act on his own,” Zero Hedge reported.

For one thing, Obama is attempting to require private sellers to conduct background checks.

“The action, officials explained, would include guidance on how the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives will now determine who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms under federal law and, therefore, who is required to obtain a license to sell firearms,” the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Obama may also try and prevent people on the no-fly list from being able to purchase guns, which violates the Fifth Amendment’s guarantee of due process by allowing the government to deprive people of their rights based only on suspicion.

Additionally, numerous law-abiding Americans have been wrongly placed on the No-Fly list due to false information, clerical errors or political persecution.

“The U.S. government maintains a massive watchlist system that risks stigmatizing hundreds of thousands of people – including U.S. citizens – as terrorism suspects based on vague, overbroad, and often secret standards and evidence,” the ACLU reported. “The consequences of being placed on a government watchlist can be far-reaching; they can include questioning, harassment, or detention by authorities, or even an indefinite ban on air travel.”

5) Illegally targeted conservative groups via IRS

Obama’s IRS had illegally targeted conservative groups for additional “reviews” of their tax status applications.

Organizations with the phrases “tea party” or “patriot” in their names were singled out for harassment, such as requiring them to provide information about their family members, their social media posts and a list of donors.

Obama had met with a key IRS official who was involved in the targeting just two days before the key official told his colleagues how to target conservative groups. The Daily Caller reported:

The Obama appointee implicated in congressional testimony in the IRS targeting scandal met with President Obama in the White House two days before offering his colleagues a new set of advice on how to scrutinize tea party and conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status.

IRS chief counsel William Wilkins, who was named in House Oversight testimony by retiring IRS agent Carter Hull as one of his supervisors in the improper targeting of conservative groups, met with Obama in the Roosevelt Room of the White House on April 23, 2012. Wilkins’ boss, then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman, visited the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on April 24, 2012, according to White House visitor logs.

On April 25, 2012, Wilkins’ office sent the exempt organizations determinations unit “additional comments on the draft guidance” for approving or denying tea party tax-exempt applications, according to the IRS inspector general’s report.

During Obama’s first four years as President, IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman made 157 visits to the White House.

“This is more visits to the White House – by a very large margin – than any other cabinet member during Obama’s first term,” journalist Tim Brown revealed. “By comparison, during the four years that Mark Everson was IRS commissioner when Bush was president, Everson made only one visit to the White House.”

6) Secretly obtained phone records from Associated Press journalists

In May 2013, Associated Press reported:

The Justice Department secretly obtained two months of telephone records of reporters and editors for The Associated Press in what the news cooperative’s top executive called a “massive and unprecedented intrusion” into how news organizations gather the news.

The records obtained by the Justice Department listed outgoing calls for the work and personal phone numbers of individual reporters, general AP office numbers in New York, Washington and Hartford, Conn., and the main number for AP reporters in the House of Representatives press gallery, according to attorneys for the AP. It was not clear if the records also included incoming calls or the duration of calls.

In all, the government seized the records for more than 20 separate telephone lines assigned to AP and its journalists in April and May of 2012. The exact number of journalists who used the phone lines during that period is unknown but more than 100 journalists work in the offices where phone records were targeted, on a wide array of stories about government and other matters.

Obtaining these phone records required approval from former Attorney General Eric Holder.

7) Carried out military interventionism in Libya without Congressional approval

Obama violated the Constitution when he launched military operations inLibya without Congressional approval.

8) Expanded Bush’s unconstitutional government faith-based programs

Obama actually expanded the federal government’s faith based programs which had been started by President George W. Bush.

9) Supported Bush’s unconstitutional Patriot Act

Obama renewed the Patriot Act in 2011.

10) Agrees with Bush’s support of unconstitutional, indefinite detention of U.S. citizens without filing any charges

Obama signed an unconstitutional bill that gave the U.S. government the power to indefinitely detain U.S. citizens without any charges being filed or any trial taking place.

11) Supports unconstitutional, warrantless wiretapping

President Obama is a huge supporter of warrantless wiretapping.

12) Had four U.S. citizens killed without judicial process

Obama had four U.S. citizens killed without judicial process, to which then-U.S. Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) said was an impeachable offense.

13) Ordered private company to fire 1,000 employees

After Boeing hired 1,000 new employees to work at its new factory in South Carolina in 2011, the Obama administration ordered the company to close it down because the factory was non-union.

14) Stole money from retired teachers and police officers

During the Chrysler bankruptcy, Obama violated the Fifth Amendment and more than 150 years of bankruptcy law by illegally treating secured creditors worse than unsecured creditors.

“Upsetting this fixed hierarchy among creditors is just an illegal taking of property from one group of creditors for the benefit of another, which should be struck down on both statutory and constitutional grounds,” according to Richard A. Epstein, a law professor at New York University School of Law.

15) Fired Inspector General for discovering that Obama’s friend had embezzled government funds

Obama fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin in 2009 after Walpin accused Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson, an Obama supporter, of misusing AmeriCorps funding to pay for political activities.

Later on, a bipartisan group of 145 current and former public officials and legal scholars signed a letter stating Walpin’s firing was politically motivated.

16) Lied about letting people keep their health insurance

Before Obamacare was passed, Obama said:

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people… If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

But once it was passed, the Congressional Budget Office said Obamacare would cause at least seven million people to lose their insurance.

17) Lied about the cost of Obamacare

Before Obamacare was passed, Obama promised:

“I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits – either now or in the future. I will not sign it if it adds one dime to the deficit, now or in the future, period. And to prove that I’m serious, there will be a provision in this plan that requires us to come forward with more spending cuts if the savings we promised don’t materialize.”

However, not long after Obama signed it, the Washington Post reported it would add over $340 billion to the budget deficit over the next decade.

18) Gave tax dollars to campaign contributors and lobbyists, and falsely claimed the money was for “green energy”

In 2009 the Obama administration gave $535 million to green-energy company Solyndra, claiming that it would create 4,000 new jobs, but the company soon went bankrupt.

It was later revealed the company’s executives had made substantialdonations to Obama’s campaign and that Solyndra executives had had many meetings with White House officials.

19) Had “off the record” meetings with lobbyists

In June 2010, the New York Times said the Obama administration officials had held hundreds of meetings with lobbyists at coffee houses near the White House to avoid the disclosure requirements for White House visitors.

20) Had armed SWAT agents raid a law-abiding guitar factory because it was owned by a Republican

President Obama had an armed SWAT team raid the Gibson guitar factory and seized guitars and other property from the factory – without any charges being filed.

Obama’s so-called justification for the raid was that Gibson had broken environmental laws from India regarding the imported wood that Gibson had been using, but C.F. Martin & Company, Gibsons’s competitor, had used the exact same imported wood.

The difference? Henry E. Juszkiewicz, the CEO of Gibson, was a Republicandonor, whereas Chris Martin IV, the CEO of Martin, was a Democraticdonor.

21) Ignored constitutional requirements for appointees

Late U.S. Senator Robert Byrd, a Democrat, expressed concerns that Obama’s dozens of czars appointed in 2009 might violate the U.S. Constitution because they were not approved by the U.S. Senate.

Another Democrat, U.S. Senator Russ Feingold, shared a similar sentiment.

22) Tried to outlaw family farms

The Obama administration wanted to eradicate family farms in 2012 by trying to prohibit farm children under 18 from working in various farm-related activities.

23) Auctioned off ambassadorship to the Netherlands

Obama nominated Timothy Broas to be U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands after Broas donated at least $500,000 to Obama’s 2012 campaign.

24) Made the TSA even more abusive and ridiculous than it had been under Bush

Under the Obama administration, the TSA has been giving very invasive pat-downs on young children which would otherwise constitute child molestation.

25) Illegally demanded monetary payment for Freedom of Information Act request

The Obama administration demanded the Goldwater Institute pay nearly $79,000 before it would share public records via the Freedom of Information Act.

26) Stole money from retired Delphi employees

Obama eliminated the pensions of 20,000 retired Delphi employees in 2009.

27) Used “off the books” funding for military interventionism

Anti-war activists who helped elect Obama accused him of using the same “off-the-books” funding as his predecessor George W. Bush when the president requested over $83 billion from Congress for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

28) Tried to silence criticism of auto-bailouts

The Obama administration pressured the Ford Motor Company to stop criticizing Obama’s bailouts of General Motors and Chrysler in a TV ad.

29) Tried to silence video on YouTube

Obama actually asked a Jewish singing group to take down its video from the Internet in 2011.

30) Illegally gave Obamacare exemptions to unions that supported the passage of Obamacare

Obama gave some of his favorite organizations an exemption from some Obamacare requirements.

Many of these organizations were unions that had supported the passage of Obamacare, but then afterwards wanted exemptions from the very same law they forced on everyone else.

The Constitution, however, requires the law to treat everyone as equals.

The Washington Times said of this:

“Selective enforcement of the law is the first sign of tyranny. A government empowered to determine arbitrarily who may operate outside the rule of law invariably embraces favoritism as friends, allies and those with the best-funded lobbyists are rewarded. Favoritism inevitably leads to corruption, and corruption invites extortion. Ultimately, the rule of law ceases to exist in any recognizable form, and what is left is tyranny.”

“The now-familiar monthly trickling down of new waivers is, at best, a tacit admission that Obamacare is a failure. So far, seven entire states and 1,372 businesses, unions and other institutions have received waivers from the law. The list includes the administration’s friends and allies and, of course, those who have the best lobbyists.”

“More than 50 percent of the Obamacare waiver beneficiaries are union members, which is striking because union members account for less than 12 percent of the American work force. The same unions that provided more than $120 million to Democrats in the last two elections and, in many cases, openly campaigned in favor of the government takeover of your health care, now celebrate that Obamacare is not their problem.”

31) Defended Bush administration’s unconstitutional, unwarranted use of GPS device

The Obama administration opposed the U.S. Supreme Court for ruling against the Bush administration over the installation of a GPS tracking device on someone’s car without a warrant.

32) Was cited by nine states for committing 21 illegal acts

READ MORE:  America's Children: The Trials of Growing Up in a Police State

Attorneys General from nine states listed 21 illegal acts which had been committed by the Obama administration.

33) Tried to seize hotel because some of its customers had used illegal drugs

The Obama administration tried to shut down a mom-and-pop bed-and-breakfast because some if its guests had used illegal drugs.

34) Made recess appointments when Congress was not in recess

Obama violated the Constitution by making four recess appointments when Congress was not in recess in Jan. 2012.

A federal appeals court later ruled that Obama’s appointments had violated the Constitution.

35) Supports guns for himself and his wife, but opposes them for everyone else

President Obama signed a 2013 bill providing armed guards for himself and his wife for the rest of the lives.

But when Obama was an Illinois state senator in 2004, he voted againstcitizens keeping guns in their own homes to protect themselves and their families.

36) Approved giving 20 F-16 fighter jets to a Sharia dictatorship

Obama once gave 20 F-16 fighter jets to Egypt while it was under a Sharia dictatorship.

37) Violated the very same campaign finance laws that he claims to support

Obama’s 2012 campaign was fined $375,000 by the Federal Election Commission for violating campaign finance laws.

38) Encouraged employers to switch their employees from full time to part time

The New York Times said Obamacare “sharply penalizes full-time employment in favor of part-time employment.”

In response to the employer mandate of Obamacare, many businesses and even colleges switched some of their employees from full time to part time.

Leaders of the Teamsters, UFCW, and UNITE-HERE penned a 2013 letter to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi stating that Obamacare will “destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class… the law creates an incentive for employers to keep employees’ work hours below 30 hours a week. Numerous employers have begun to cut workers’ hours to avoid this obligation.”

39) Had Freedom of Information Act record worse than Bush’s

when it came to honoring requests under the Freedom of Information Act, Obama’s record was far worse than that of George W. Bush.

40) Supports installation of hidden cameras on private property without a search warrant

Obama’s Justice Department once argued in favor of installing hidden cameras on private property without a search warrant.

41) Accepted illegal campaign contributions from foreign citizens

During an experiment, a non-U.S. citizen attempted to make two $5 donations to both Obama’s campaign and Mitt Romney’s campaign.

While the Romney campaign rejected both donations, the Obama website accepted them cheerfully.

42) Lied about the Benghazi attack

After four U.S. citizens were killed in a terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, in Sept. 2012, the Obama administration falsely claimed the attack was a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim video at YouTube.

Even more, the Obama administration took an entire week before it acknowledged the attacks as terrorism.

And although the Obama administration made a dozen revisions to its versions of the incident, then-White House Press Secretary Jay Carneyfalsely claimed that only a “single adjustment” had been made.

ABC News later published a complete list of all the changes to the White House talking points.

43) Complained to YouTube about an anti-Muslim video

The Obama administration actually phoned YouTube in 2012 to complain about an anti-Muslim video.

“It does make us nervous when the government throws its weight behind any requests for censorship,” Ben Wizner of the ACLU said.

44) Falsely said that Fast and Furious was started when Bush was President

Obama lied when he said Fast and Furious had “begun under the previous administration” in 2012.

Fast and Furious actually began around September 2009, months after Bush left office.

45) Illegally refused to fire Kathleen Sebelius after she violated campaign finance laws

Kathleen Sebelius, Obama’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, was caught violating campaign finance laws in 2012, but despite federal lawrequiring Obama to fire her over the illegal activity, he refused to do so.

46) Gave special access to people who raised or donated $500,000

People who raised or donated at least $500,000 to Organizing for Action, a pro-Obama political group, would be given “the privilege of attending quarterly meetings with the president, along with other meetings at the White House.”

47) Adopted harmful new restrictions on prescription painkillers – even though the House had already voted against them

The Obama administration ignored the House’s rejection of new restrictions on prescription painkillers by adopting them anyway.

48) Illegally refused to submit a budget on time during four of his first five years

Despite being legally required to submit a budget by the first Monday in February, Obama broke this law at least four times.

In contrast, since 1921, no President had missed this deadline more than once.

49) Fined UPS $40 million because some of its customers had used UPS to ship illegal drugs

Obama forced UPS to pay $40 million in 2013 because some of its customers had used the company to ship illegal drugs.

50) Added 20,000 extra pages to Obamacare without Congressional approval

After Obamacare was passed, Obama added 20,000 extra pages to it even though those extra pages were not voted on by Congress.

51) Waited until after the 2012 election to release unpopular Obamacare rules

The New York Times reported in 2013:

… even fervent supporters of the law admit that things are going worse than expected.

… the Obama administration didn’t want to release unpopular rules before the election.

Everything is turning out to be more complicated than originally envisioned.

A law that was very confusing has become mind-boggling… Americans are just going to be overwhelmed and befuddled. Many are just going to stay away, even if they are eligible for benefits.

52) Tried to rig federal auctions of radio spectrum space

The Obama administration was trying to rig federal auctions of radio spectrum space in a manner that would favor Sprint and T-Mobile over its competitors.

53) Put someone in jail for making an anti-Muslim video

Politico reported in 2013:

“Nakoula Basseley Nakoula deserves a place in American history. He is the first person in this country jailed for violating Islamic anti-blasphemy laws.”

“You won’t find that anywhere in the charges against him, of course. As a practical matter, though, everyone knows that Nakoula wouldn’t be in jail today if he hadn’t produced a video crudely lampooning the prophet Muhammad.”

“In the weeks after the attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, the Obama administration claimed the terrorist assault had been the outgrowth of a demonstration against the Nakoula video. The administration ran public service announcements in Pakistan featuring President Barack Obama saying the U.S. had nothing to do with it. In a speech at the United Nations around this time, the president declared – no doubt with Nakoula in mind – ‘The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.’”

54) Rewarded one of his biggest campaign fundraisers by nominating him for the ambassadorship to Canada

Obama nominated Bruce Heyman to be the ambassador to Canada in 2013after Heyman raised more than $1 million for Obama.

55) Asked contractors to disclose their political donations before bidding on government contracts

Obama asked contractors to disclose their political donations before bidding on federal contracts in 2011.

56) Falsely accused a law abiding news reporter of being “an aider and abettor and/or co-conspirator” in a criminal investigation

The Obama administration falsely labeled Fox contributor James Rosen as “an aider and abettor and/or co-conspirator” in a criminal investigation when it applied for a warrant to read his emails.

The New York Times reported:

With the decision to label a Fox News television reporter a possible “co-conspirator” in a criminal investigation of a news leak, the Obama administration has moved beyond protecting government secrets to threatening fundamental freedoms of the press to gather news.

Leak investigations usually focus on the source, not the reporter. But, in this case, federal prosecutors also asked a federal judge for permission to examine Mr. Rosen’s personal e-mails, arguing that “there is probable cause to believe” Mr. Rosen is “an aider and abettor and/or co-conspirator” in the leak.

Though Mr. Rosen was not charged, the F.B.I. request for his e-mail account was granted secretly in late May 2010. The government was allowed to rummage through Mr. Rosen’s e-mails for at least 30 days.

The Rosen affair is as flagrant an assault on civil liberties as anything done by George W. Bush’s administration, and it uses technology to silence critics in a way Richard Nixon could only have dreamed of.

To treat a reporter as a criminal for doing his job – seeking out information the government doesn’t want made public – deprives Americans of the First Amendment freedom on which all other constitutional rights are based. Guns? Privacy? Due process? Equal protection? If you can’t speak out, you can’t defend those rights, either.

Beyond that, the administration’s actions shatter the president’s credibility and discourage allies who would otherwise defend the administration against bogus accusations such as those involving the Benghazi “talking points.” If the administration is spying on reporters and accusing them of criminality just for asking questions – well, who knows what else this crowd is capable of doing?

57) Asked Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate himself for lying under oath

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath when he said he had nothing to do with monitoring the emails of Fox reporter James Rosen, even though his own signature on the search warrant.

In response, Obama asked Holder to investigate himself!

58) Used Obamacare to illegally give the IRS additional powers without approval from Congress

The Washington Post reported in 2013:

[Obamacare] allows the Department of Health and Human Services to set up federal health exchanges in the holdout states. But the statute makes no mention of the IRS providing credits and subsidies through federal exchanges.

The IRS resolved this conundrum by denying its existence. In a May 2012 regulatory ruling, it asserted its own right to provide credits outside the state exchanges as the reasonable interpretation of an ambiguous law. But the language of the law is not ambiguous. And health scholars Jonathan Adler and Michael Cannon, in an exhaustive recent analysis, find no justification for the IRS’s ruling in the legislative history of Obamacare….

So: The IRS seized the authority to spend about $800 billion over 10 years on benefits that were not authorized by Congress.

59) Illegally solicited donations from health insurers

In May 2013, Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius illegally solicited donations from health insurers to help pay for Obamacare.

60) Proposed military interventionism in Syria

Obama proposed the U.S. oust the Syrian government in 2013 by military action.

61) Refused to fire or prosecute more than 1,000 IRS employees who illegally used their IRS credit cards for their own personal use

Obama refused to fire or prosecute more than 1,000 IRS employees illegally used their IRS credit cards for personal purchases.

62) Had the Secret Service visit a law abiding citizen who had criticized his policies on Twitter

Obama ordered the Secret Service to visit the home of Tom Francois, a law abiding citizen who had criticized Obama’s policies on Twitter in 2013.

The Secret Service later admitted that Francois had not made any threats against the president.

63) Had the IRS grant special, illegal favors for his brother’s so-called “charity”

The Daily Caller reported the IRS had taken the “unprecedented” step of approving a non-profit application within just one month from the Barack H. Obama Foundation, a so-called “charity” which was headed by Malik Obama, Barack Obama’s brother.

Additionally, the IRS illegally gave retroactive approval for the organization’s tax exempt status and had illegally solicited tax deductible donations even though it did not have legal approval to do so.

64) Illegally bypassed Congress to delay Obamacare’s employer mandate

In July 2013, Obama delayed the employer mandate part of Obamacare until January 2015, even though Congress set it to begin a year prior.

Obama effectively rewrote a law without approval from Congress, which is highly illegal.

65) Illegally forced 2,200 privately owned auto dealerships to close, which destroyed 120,000 jobs

Obama cost 120,000 people their jobs by illegally forced 2,200 privately owned auto dealerships to close in 2009.

66) Gave 23,994 tax refunds worth a total of $46,378,040 to illegal aliens who all used the same address

The IRS gave nearly 24,000 tax refunds worth a total of nearly $47 million to illegal aliens in 2011 using the same address in Atlanta, Ga.

67) Used tax money to pay federal employees to organize protests against George Zimmerman

Obama actually used tax money to pay federal employees to organizeprotests against George Zimmerman in 2012.

68) Illegally continued giving foreign aid to Egypt after it had a coup

The Obama administration said it would illegally continue giving foreign aid to Egypt after its coup.

69) Broke promise to end Bush’s surveillance of U.S. citizens who were not suspected of committing a crime

Obama lied when he said he would end Bush’s illegal surveillance of U.S. citizens not suspected of committing a crime.

70) Falsely guaranteed that people could keep their doctor

Before Obamacare was passed, Obama said:

“Here is a guarantee that I’ve made… If you’ve got a doctor that you like, you will be able to keep your doctor.”

This was a complete lie.

71) Illegally seized a privately owned gun from a law abiding citizen

After a jury found George Zimmerman not guilty, the Obama administrationannounced it would seize his gun anyway, a violation of both the double jeopardy clause of the U.S. Constitution and the Fifth Amendment.

72) Illegally prevented individual employees of small businesses from choosing their own plan during the first year of Obamacare

Obamacare requires that individual employees of small businesses be allowed to choose their own insurance plan during the first year of Obamacare, but the Obama administration kept them from doing so.

73) Illegally avoided enforcing the required income verification of people who receive subsidies for Obamacare exchanges

The Obama administration refuses to verify the income of people whoreceive subsidies for Obamacare exchanges.

74) Illegally delayed the caps on out of pocket health care payments without Congressional approval

Obama once again illegally rewrote Obamacare by delaying payment caps for one year.

75) Falsely said the NSA review was being conducted by an “independent” body</strong

Obama assigned National Intelligence Director James Clapper, who had falsely testified to Congress that the NSA was not collecting information on U.S. citizens, to establish an “independent” investigation of NSA surveillance.

The list doesn’t need to end at 75:

76) Nominated a telecommunications lobbyist and Obama fundraiser to head the FCC

Obama nominated former cable TV lobbyist and Obama fundraiser Tom Wheeler to head the FCC in 2013. Wheeler had previously been the head of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, which is a lobbying organization for the cable TV industry.

77) Tried to violate defendants’ right to a fair trial

In August 2013, Reuters reported:

A secretive U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration unit is funneling information from intelligence intercepts, wiretaps, informants and a massive database of telephone records to authorities across the nation to help them launch criminal investigations of Americans.

Although these cases rarely involve national security issues, documents reviewed by Reuters show that law enforcement agents have been directed to conceal how such investigations truly begin – not only from defense lawyers but also sometimes from prosecutors and judges.

The undated documents show that federal agents are trained to “recreate” the investigative trail to effectively cover up where the information originated, a practice that some experts say violates a defendant’s Constitutional right to a fair trial. If defendants don’t know how an investigation began, they cannot know to ask to review potential sources of exculpatory evidence – information that could reveal entrapment, mistakes or biased witnesses.

78) Threatened internet service providers with contempt of court if they did not install surveillance software

The Obama administration had pressured internet service providers to install surveillance software in 2013 so that it could monitor internet traffic without a warrant, a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment.

The ISPs who refused were later threatened by the administration with contempt of court.

Get out of your emotions. Look at the information. If a broken analog clock can be right twice a day, then don't be so quick to dismiss based on where it came from.  Are you about truth? If so then we can agree you will seek it out no matter where it takes you, right?  A new term like "fake news" is thrown out there you jump all over it, using it like how folks back then used communist in the mcarther context; they way folks use  'conspiracy theory' in a dismissive context. Now you have "fake news". Well are you familiar with the bill that obama signed that allows for u.s. propaganda to pass as legit journalistic news?  It appears not. Get a clue man...

Kocolicious,

Come sis. You and I have been around here since Bush was in office and Africanamerica.org chat site was totally different from now. To assume that someone hate their blackness because they don't roll with Obama, particularly with regard to his policies is disingenuous. Everyone swears their "truth" is the truth, which is why we debate these issues. I am glad you think for yourself, as I believe you always thought for yourself, however the info you put forth in favor of obama is not original, in that there are other folks who feel that same way you do as there are those who feel as I do. So thinking for oneself is really a moot point.

Dennis,

Where were you when infowars was going in on bush? What were your opinions of anyone getting information from infowars that showed how foul bush was?  Now you may say something like 'I was critical of alex jones and his critiques of bush back then' and if so to that I say provide evidence. Did you write anything anywhere that shows such consistency on social media that you'd be willing to provide a source? Because if you do but instead reply talkin'bout 'yeah man I was critical of inforwars just the same', without no way for anyone to verify that, may bring into question your credibility. Such that one may likely conclude that you only roll with a source that supports what you believe, whether or not what you believe is true/factual.

Lets go further to that point while I have your attention:

What where your opinions about Bush, in terms of his policies, and the criicisms warranted throughout his presidency. See those who were here since the early 2000's may recall I was critical of bush and how I and a few others used to get it on with a few conservative brotha's, at least one for I forgot his name, that appears to no longer come around. So from at least that stand point, I have been critical of those in the white house. Where have you been???

I've been waiting on someone with some common sense. Black people are so sick with low self esteem, this great need for validation we accept any kind of treatment from someone who faints to be on our side. Hillary is the latest example of a Democrat that faints to be concerned with our issues and tons of confused baby boomer Blacks swear their fealty to her.

Baby boomer Blacks are the most fucked up Black generation ever produced. Think about it, it was the Black baby boomers who were the crack heads, the generation with the most broken families, the most incarcerated and the most GULLIBLE. I think from a psychological stand point the Black community is at a very low state.

The sooner the Black baby boomers die off the better off the young Blacks who voted SANDERS will be. Young Blacks sat home and did not vote for another establishment ass kisser like Hillary. But baby boomer blacks backed Hillary which is another stab in the back by this sorry generation.

How we lose it grabbing at air. Will respond a little.   Alex Jones has always been a Russian propagandist. Again, its about the information. You getting all hype on Jones though when he was dissing bush YOU never questioned his 'news' in that regard. Now he's critical of your Obama the Christ and now he's 'a joke'. Furthermore his being a propagandist for russia is not the topic of discussion.

Now its a piss fight? Save your since of self righteousness; you came in looking for a piss fight only to see you were just pissing in the wind. You have yet to take in of those 75 points to see how valid they were. No, you came in on some "fake news" paradigm like a new fad.

Lets go back to the list and let us analyze some of those points.

How we lose it grabbing at air. Will respond a little.   Alex Jones has always been a Russian propagandist. If you go back years, Jones was always praising Russia, quoting RT, etc.  I called him on it but not here. Go back to the Bush years. You'll see that Jones was like that.   Most didn't and disagreed. I call it like I see it.  You’re 100% right I wasn’t here during the Bush catastrophe. Look, you must know the personal game you're playing here.  No time for getting into a meaningless pissing fight. That shit fucks up vital communications. Get that much.

Yeah, saw Jones’ game all the way through. I can deal hard but dig - not here to waste emotional time with unreal ego collisions.  Seriously, can’t get into this. Nope. Be bigger than the smoke coming from the head.  There’s real strength in that.  Nuff said.

My brotha....you've been in my president's behind since day one!  And quite frankly as I have mentioned several times.....it could have been James Brown running for president and I still would have VOTED for him.  Feel me?  It's about black unity...black love.  Even though we debate hard....if you would have ran for president?  I would have voted for YOU too.  Qualifications?  Black.  Why?  Cuz these crackas have been controlling our asses every since we got off the boat with them.  They do not have our interest in mind.  Especially Trump.  He is a racist, womanizing misogynist, selfish little man with little hands.  He doesn't care about anyone but his nationalist old fart comrades.  Already he is dismantling America piece by piece...you don't get that?  He is preparing to reverse women's rights and voter's rights.  My president didn't go anywhere near taking anything from the American people.  And  hey my brotha it's okay to dislike him.  You can't please everybody.  But to openly bash him in front all these focking racist who's been gunning down black men and women across this country?  To me?  Is self-hating.   And disloyal to the black race.

He's a brotha....and for that very reason he should be respected for showin that the very slaves i.e. subhumans who built the white house managed to live in the same white house  as the leader of the free world just like dumb ass massa.   That's a huge accomplishment since we were all deemed subhuman until 1965.  And it especially great  for black children who have nothing to look at for role models other than ball players, gangs, drug peddlers and celebrities.  Obama showed our black kids that they can REACH high too [especially when many of em are being gunned down, corralled into foster care or prison before they get to adulthood...or are consistently shooting at each other].

Additionally, thinking for myself just cuz others think the same is NOT moot.  It's YOUR opinion that it is.  No one read hundreds of books, studied, researched, analyzed issues....took exams, wrote thesis and/or reports for me....MY brain did that all by itself.  I. AM. NOT. A FOLLOWER.  As you well know.  I don't cut and paste anyone's ideas.....my commentary as long as they are?  Are authentic.  My very own thoughts....not someone elses.  But recognizing others see what I see tells me that there is critical thinking on the planet!  And that I am NOT alone in my assessment.  You know how I am my brotha and I love you like a play cousin, but I am going to be me.  And part of being me?  Is. Callin. It. How. I. See. It.   Feel me?  Plus you know me long enough to know that I never back down from a debate.  So on my president?  We just have to agree to disagree.   But!

That list above reads like it came from Breitbart/Steve Bannon/Fox website.

Got it from 'before its news'.  However if anything about that list is wrong/inaccurate do tell.

Have to do a line-item inquiry and get back to you.

Not that I"m acusing YOU of anything, it's just that many on the list appear to be either false altogether or by omission.

I will concede that some of the accusations have that right-wing conservative slant. However there are a lot of points that are just straight up facts.

HoTeP Koco,

If I recall, I held off Obama for over a year, maybe 2 for the most part. I believe one of my earliest critique was when he was talking to the cnn reporter whose name escapes me at the time, they were walking about the slave dungeons of afrika and obama alluded that the enslavers were as much a victim in our maafa as those, our ancestors, were. I couldn't sit on that one regardless of 'whose' watching. So that "brotha" obama, disrespected virtually every black person in the world with that one. So why should he get a pass for that?

"I don't cut and paste anyone's ideas.....my commentary as long as they are?  Are authentic.  My very own thoughts....not someone elses.  But recognizing others see what I see tells me that there is critical thinking on the planet! " That what you've copied and paste, was not your article, just as that which I've copied and pasted. While some of the 75 items I question as I've conceded to sunnubian, I fine a lot of it straight of facts (just as you feel that the 50 point line item you posted), as much of that info is documented by other media outlets, particularly those not controlled by the corporate dollar. "Critical thinking" does not in an of itself means, one will come to the 'right' or 'factual' conclusion.''

"Why?  Cuz these crackas have been controlling our asses every since we got off the boat with them.  They do not have our interest in mind. " To that point, let me ask you: There are many who say that obama 'couldn't do anything'. Now if that is true, if you agree with that sentiment at least, then "these crackas" are still "controlling our asses", which then brings me to this question given that now we have a precedent, a frame of reference to go on should there be sometime in the future another president who is of afrikan-descent;  What is the point in a black person running for potus if they can't 'do anything' ?  So in retrospect, I don't think it is a good idea to have black children inspire to that. I opine that they inspire to become international bankers (or banksters), and heads of multination corporations, so long as that is where the power is. And I speak of 'POWER' in an amos n. wilson school of thought.

And everything you said about trump, you get no argument from me. I like to think/hope that his' being just that will what you've nicely describe will be the thing that could spark something in the black collective that will get us moving in the economic/political direction we need to go ( a position that is flying over Dennis's head). But no one, thus far, has told me -not in some abstract ambiguous way, how hillary given her TRACK RECORD [you reading this Dennis?] how she would've been any better, because prior to becoming potus, trump had no political track record. As grimy 'talk' can be a catalyst for bad things made manifest, actions carry more weight.

But yes Koco, I feel you.

Maybe he was referring to the enslavers who had came from a homeland where they themselves were serfs and peasants to the land with no human rights.  Who both were attached to the land with little or no pay and beholden in some inhumane way to the royal court.  Much like how sharecropping was for blacks after slavery.  And in that maybe the connection with slaves and slavers was that slavers were doing to the slaves....what was done to them in their country.  Making them a victim as well.  As why folks need to read world  history and teach their children to study it as well.  However, I am taking up for him.  He's a man.  He does good all by himself....in my opinion.  And that statement didn't disrespected anyone black or white...it was fact.  So why would he need a pass when  he was telling the truth from his perspective?  We all do that....right?

My brotha you read too much into that.  I was saying that when I do my commentary...see the word "commentary" in my response to you?  I was talking about when I am making an opinion about something I used my own words.  Wasn't taking about posting articles.  That's ridiculous cuz I post articles all the time.  As far as critical thinking?  When you have that whether it's the truth or not, you have the cognitive capability to determine if the truth is reasonable.  Like when Trump ordered a shutdown and black out on EPA.  It's the truth and that's what he did.  But is it reasonable?  For some it may and to others it may not be.  But critical thinking gives you the ability to sort that out.  Instead of just accepting what is said without processing it.   That's.  What. I. Meant.

Okay one at a time dude!  First and foremost, Presidents do not have as much as power as it seems.  There are certain things they can do and cannot do...aside from writing executive orders.  And even that?  I think congress, the senate or whomever have to be on the same page  otherwise it is oust.  Any president can only do so much.  But the real issue was...at the time.... an  unprecedented BLACK president in office.  Something that never occurred in the history of this racist country.  Tell me.  Do you honestly BELIEVE they were going to let him do what he wanted?  They opposed him almost immediately.

Hell they shut down the government twice cuz they didn't want to do what he wanted the first 100 days in office.  Remember that?  It doesnt take a rocket scientist my brotha to know that my president was NOT wanted in the white house and he was not respected one bit. They hated him being the leader of the free world.   But my real point regarding  this [and I hope you have children or know children] is  seeing a black President creates unlimited  thinking possibility in children.  Proof? Children who in the past [slavery, post construction and Jim Crow] grew up in a racist environment STILL became  geniuses in their own right under those horrific circumstances.  Cuz from American inventions to milestone achievements... these were accomplished by those considered subhumans  with no rights to their own discoveries.

So then after our civil rights success ....less than 15 years later?  Blacks were killing each other....doping and destroying their communities...killing any hope for our children.  Stifling the genius in them.  However, [thank god] seeing a black president reignited their possibilities of being whatever they want....to dream....to use their imagination.....cuz  why?  The sky became limitless again-and kinda made up for those three generations we lost.  So that's what my president did for black children in this country.  And nobody else could.  Not the rapper, gangbanger, drug pusher, baller....etc.  So if it was ONLY for that reason....his presidency was successful.   Cuz let's not forget.....black people built this country from the ground up with no education, human rights or freedom.  So if they could do amazing things back then?  Wow!  The possibilities of what they can do NOW and in the future.   And to me?  That's huge.  You?

So in retrospect, I don't think it is a good idea to have black children inspire to that. I opine that they inspire to become international bankers (or banksters), and heads of multination corporations, so long as that is where the power is. And I speak of 'POWER' in an amos n. wilson school of thought.

See my response above.

Two words my brotha.  Trump cheated!  That's how he won with the help of Russia-America's known enemy.  And for argument, Hillary lost because of her arrogance-which have no place in an election campaign.  Plus the FBI assisted Trump's by releasing those emails.  But not releasing Trump's taxes.  See if Obama did this?  He would have lost the election and if he had won, been impeached before the inauguration.  Now Trump is attempting to divert all this by sayin that illegals voted.  As if the American people are stupid.  We know those who voted for him were e bamboozled by this lying racist pig who used an adversary...got in the bed with him....to win the election for the nationalists and womanizing racists in this country.

But yes Koco, I feel you.

I'm glad you do my brotha.  Cuz if we merely went on two opinions only....we will be on our way to fascism which is already  luring around the corner.  However, I have faith in the American people.  This is the first time since the civil war white liberals are shaking in their boots cuz now?  The same human rights they took from us are now being taken from them [which was taken from them before, during and after the middle ages] .   So now they look to us for guidance...cuz we are experts at resisting, accomplishing goals in unchartered waters.  So as I say....we gon have to agree to disagree about my President.  I admire him for giving our children hope in a racist world that HATES them.  And admire how he and his family handled being under harsh scrutiny under the eyes of all and created a legacy African Americans can be proud of. At least they should be.    But!
