Obama trying to lower expectations – again

In a little noted but insightful Washington Post article published April 5, 2013, David Nakamura argued that President Obama has all but given up on any real, substantive or “progressive” policy efforts at least until the midterm elections next year.

Nakamura notes that during Obama's campaign fund raising swing through California recently, he ticked off all of the reasons why the left should not expect much from him until then.

On climate change? “The politics of this are tough,” Obama said in the the home of San Francisco billionaire asset manager Tom Steyer.

How about gun control? “It’s going to be tougher to get better gun legislation . . . through the Senate and the House,” he acknowledged in Levi Strauss' heir John Goldman’s home in Atherton, Calif.

Despite his new “brain research” initiative, Obama allowed that scientific research would likewise have to be placed on the back burner. “Right now we’re constrained,” he told an audience of philanthropists at the Gordon and Ann Getty mansion.

As Obama is too fond of reminding everyone, he campaigned for the presidency twice on the hope that both his election and re-election would end Washington gridlock. (That, however, is not the “hope” that most of us thought he meant at the time).

Now, as the first year of his second administration fast approaches, he seems resigned to the probability that he really has little power to advance his agenda mainly due to continued partisan polarization.

Now, in stark contrast to his State of the Union message when he said that change was urgently necessary, he has changed his tune:

“It doesn’t happen all at once,” Obama said. “It doesn’t happen in one fell swoop. It doesn’t happen because a president gives a speech.”

His speeches on gun control in both Colorado and Connecticut, though certainly rousing, were meant to provide a feel-good cushion as his proposals slowly die in congress in the upcoming weeks.

Instead, in his speech at a Denver police academy, Obama pleaded with everyone to find that elusive “common ground” of which he is so fond.

He claims that his embrace of the “chained CPI' as a way of “reforming” Social Security and the myriad other budget cuts he's offered, are meant to appease Republicans. He does not believe that they will agree to raise taxes on wealthier Americans without such offsetting budget cuts.

Opinion

And so, as he did immediately after being elected the first time in 2008, President Obama has again sought to lower expectations of those who so fervently supported him on each and every issue.

The facts are the facts. On no issue important to progressives has this president gone “to the wall” with the Republicans. Hell, even during those first two years when he controlled both houses of Congress, his main and stated objective was, as always, “bipartisanship.”

The pattern should be obvious. The president campaigns to the left, but governs to the right....often the hard right.

What evidence is there that should Democrats gain control once again of the House and the Senate next year that things will be any different?

The pattern should be obvious. The president campaigns to the left, but governs to the right....often the hard right.

Lets recap the various defenses to come:

1 Black people are too stupid to understand its not the presidents fault, its the Congress.

2. The presidents supporters are too ignorant to understand that  Obama never claimed to be or do anything regarding policies the "Left" embraces.  Its your own fault if you got tricked-its not not the presidents for tricking you (aka being deceptive).

3 Whatever the president decides to do, it must be better than Romney, McCain et al.

4 You people must want Pres. Obama to be Superman, Batman or The Messiah!

........ad infinitum

Based upon your views and not reality, the fact that Barack Obama betrays U.S. born blacks daily must also be all the fault of "White Supremacy"

President Barack "The Magic Negro/Illegal Alien bootlicking" Obama like any other elected official is under oath to serve all U.S. citizens and legal immigrants, U.S. born descendants of slavery being inclusive.  Here again Barack Obama is a disgrace to the office.

Far too often a dysfunctional Black electorate make excuses for the inaction of elected officials like no good Barack Obama, which means slim chance exists that Barack Obama and/or other inept elected officials will be held accountable to the Constitution and the "Oath of Office".

You mean you Black folks are not happy that I sang an Al Green song for you in Harlem. Why some of you even applauded me.   Surely, singing an “Al Green’ ballad will go a long way to reduce high unemployment, to address the issues of inequities in the courts, “un-Equal Justice and Protection Under the Law", that U.S. born Blacks face in Harlem, Chicago, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, Newark, Oakland, etc., etc.   Just think of all the good times we had together while I sang that Al Green song or songs anytime you feel hungry, or that an Al Green ballad will make you feel better when you don’t have the means to provide food, clothing, or shelter for yourself, or your family, because of the treason to keep blacks in poverty and unemployed, on the part of so many elected black leaders from the Democratic and the Republican Party affiliations, at every level of government!

As U.S. President, and/or any member of the Congressional Black Clueless.....AKA....the Congressional Black Caucus,  I can at least use just a little of my influence to make the recommendation to Congress to remove no good U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas from the Supreme Court, but I won’t.

Although Caucasians have been guilty of oppressing U.S. born Blacks too, the greatest deterrent to the advancement of U.S. born Blacks today, is the treason that exists within the black community itself, and/or treasonous university educated Blacks, like a Clarence Thomas, who make excuses to do nothing or “side with rogue police officers and unethical city prosecutors” activity that guarantees that U.S. born Blacks won’t get a fair trial, won’t receive redress from any jury award, etc., etc.

The incompetence/treason of individuals like University educated Justice Clarence, and the silence on the part of past and present elected black leaders, i.e. multiple members of the Democratic Congressional Black Clueless....AKA.....the Democratic Congressional Black Caucus, who are also university educated and hold positions of influence, and who are members of the Democratic Party or the Republican Party, but choose to do nothing to remove scum like a “Clarence Thomas” from the U.S. Supreme Court.

Furthermore Black men and women have served this nation honorably in every War, every Conflict, from  the American Revolutionary War to the Conflict in Afghanistan.  Many Black men and women who have served this nation honorably have been maimed for life, some have returned in body bags, defending the American flag, our Constitution, our sovereignty, which means all elected official and public servants, must be just as committed to upholding our Constitution and the Oath of Office for all American citizens and legal immigrants, U.S. born descendants of slavery being inclusive!

Oh pleaaaaaaaaaase  What you're talking about hasn't STOPPED folks from back to America in body bags since WW1.  And the fact that blackfolks are now in the game in terms of military service has not CHANGED the dynamics of kicking folks to curve who fight for our freedom in other countries one bit.  Just here lately in the last 10 or so years have the public given veterans their due-many of em return to an administration that turns its head of the post war-conditions faced by many upon manty former soldiers.  This was NOT created by my President-don't get it twisted.  It was here when he took office.  And soonafter taking office made it a pledge to take care of folks in the military including their families.   And I heard more fron him regarding the military needs than any President thus far.  And I've been around awhile.

I remember a few years ago that veteran adminstration wouldn't accept soldiers[no matter what race] suffering PSTD because it cost tooooo much money to treat them-even though the veteran administration had over 100 billion dollars in federal money [just like the medical system, the veteran administration too is a money making industry for research not treatment].  So the legacy of this incompetency continued to occur in both Bush adminstrations-not just here recently.  So if you are saying that the history of this country has been inclusive of dismissing black military folks?  Well I agree.

But!  This country has been dismissing MOST military folks fighting for our nation since the French/Ameica war!!!This is not anything new...except now it has been exposed more publically and the American people are becoming more active in addressing the military needs after they come to shore.  It is a slow process true.  But it has been ignored for years and now that is on the table for public view blame has been slinging toward the current administration UNFAIRLY.  First you need to talk to Andrew Jackson, then Roosevelt[sp] fast foward to Kennedy, Johnson, etc before coming to Obama.    But!

Stop making excuses for these misfits.  Furthermore evidently you are not being truthful, because Barack Obama is not the only black elected official/public servant that I, and/or other individuals from within the Black community, have shown contempt for and rightfully so, and for the past few decades few if any Caucasians, or Republicans hold office in South Central Los Angeles, Compton, Detroit, Oakland, New Orleans, Baltimore, Atlanta, Washington, DC., etc., etc., communities presently or formerly predominated by U.S. born blacks, but now consumed by droves of illegal immigrants with the blessing of no good elected Black leaders, and/or a dysfunctional running from the Black underclass Black middleclass .

Finally, your  response does not take into account U.S. born black men who did not volunteer, but who were drafted, with the reality of penal incarceration for refusing the Draft, who served during WW1, WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, etc., etc., while both past and present day elected black leaders, lawyers, and a dysfunctional black middleclass betray the Black community daily!

That's where YOU got it twisted....I don't HAVE to give excuses for a damn thang.  It is what it is whether you wanna accept it or not.  That's totally on you.  However, I have already stated where I'm coming from on this issue just cuz you provide all these links doesn't eradicate a thang I've said.  Nada.  So...don't think I'm trying to convince YOU of anything.  Cuz I am NOT! Say and post anything you want...but to be  CLEAR?  I think for MYSELF.  Just so you know.  But!

First of all, you don't recognize sarcasm. Second of all prove through documentation your assertions sir.  I can name at least TWO other presidents who were a disgrace to the office, Nixon (Theft) and Regan (enabling the mass importation of drugs into the black community/Iran Contra).  Not to mention Bush I and Bush II. Keeping white supremacy  alive. The fact that the POTUS can't even and won't even mention African Americans, one of the oldest ethnic groups in the country known as the U.S. is a DIRECT result of WS/WR because we all know niggas are harder on other niggas while giving white people carte blanche. Just as you are doing here. When you complain about all politicians, then I'll maybe hold you credible.

I've actually been a part of the VFW, including volunteering on occasion, and Caucasian leaders, community residents, etc., etc.,  honor their veterans, volunteer, support all veterans, which is generally not case in jurisdictions where honorably discharged Black veterans return to any community where elected black leaders, black residents, and/or the Black university educated middleclass congregate.

The information that I share as well as the information of other reputable individuals proves that BO is not the only misfit elected black leader.

With regard to Richard "Tricky Dick" Nixon,  and the so-called First Black President Bill Clinton, etc., etc., it is Caucasian America who held these individuals accountable for wrong doing, criminal acts, unethical acts, etc. , and not the Black electorate.

Caucasians, Koreans, Hispanics, etc., etc., are not as likely to turn a blind eye or to cover-up foolishness, criminal activity, unethical activity, stealing from his or her own community, like what typically takes place in most any jurisdiction where elected black leaders, the Living in La La Land dysfunctional Black university educated are large and in charge, and the primary constituency represented are U.S. born and Black.

In order to hold anyone accountable to the Constitution, the rule of law, the constituency served must believe in and respect the Constitution and/or the "rule of law".  By and large a dysfunctional Black electorate and the misfits who he or she vote for do not believe in or respect the laws of the land, namely the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, etc.

More so that not the majority of the Black electorate and the Black middleclass make heroes of misfits, and disrespect individuals truly worthy of praise, none of this being the fault of White Supremacy.

I see that even after ALL this time .... Herbert Dyer, Jr. has STILL never learned the very valuable lesson that it is better to be thought a fool .... than to open your mouth and erase all doubt.

It doesn't matter one bit what "progressives" (or anybody else) thinks about the President ... or how pissed off his supporter or detractors want to be at what the President is - or is not - doing ... has - or has not - done!!

Even Stevie Wonder can SEE that the Republicans can, have and will OPPOSE anything and everything the President has ever wanted to do .... since DAY 1 of his FIRST term!!!  And NOTHING has changed!!!   Not one iota!!

Since Republicans have never tried to HIDE the fact that they can, have and will INTENTIONALLY oppose as many of President Obama's policies as they possibly can and vote against ANYTHING he proposes while President (I mean... they have repeatedly called special Press Conferences just to STATE that very thing to the public!) .... only an idiot would be expecting "compromise" by Republicans or a willingness to engage in "bipartisanship" and actually PASS any bill into law ... if it's something that the President wants.

Sadly .... the National Democratic Party is even dumber than people like Mr. Dyer .... and they didn't even TRY to get more Democrats elected to the House or Senate during the last election!!!    And ... there's no guarantee that they'll even know how to go about making that happen in 2014, either.  While I wouldn't expect President Obama to be politically savvy or experienced enough to understand how very IMPORTANT that SHOULD HAVE been in 2012 ... you would think that Democratic "Leadership," most of whom who have been in the game forseveral decades were old enough, wise enough, and/or experienced enough to have realized that that should have been made a priority ... or, at the very least been given more than 5 minutes of thought!!

A lot of people believe that Hillary will run again in 2016.  I don't think I believe that .... but, I certainly hope I'm wrong!!    She will make an excellent President .... and give the Democrats the leadership and intelligent they've been lacking .... or, perhaps ... have NEVER had in the first place.

America is a Caucasian country and that's who rules here.  African nothing will EVER be in CHARGE of anything in America.  Don't care how much money, education or anything else an African obtains in America, if he messes up, royally, it'll all go to the Caucasian and if he messes up really bad, goes totally against the grain, said Caucasian will send the African to his grave, quick, fast and in a damn hurry.  They're not buying all these guns for nothing.  Africans are detested in America and that's the bottom line and the top line too.

"Are Black Women 'played out'??" by RadioRaheem

You bet, some are........be it in a man, woman, any mind forever in the ghetto but not smart, or a university educated Fool, ignorance is still ignorance.

-Kocolicious and/or anyone else of similar expression,

I don't have to pretend to be Black because I'm a U.S. born descendant of slavery, and no matter how hard I try,  I can't run away from what I came into the world as.  I'm just not Black and foolish.

I commend you, Marvin Stewart, former Board Director of the Minuteman Project and other Minutemen, for your understanding of a most important function of all elected officials and the duty of elected officials to respect the Constitution and his or her oath of office when serving U.S. citizens and legal immigrants.

Unless Caucasian prosecutors or voters take action to criminally indict or prosecute Kwame "Betray Detroit" Kilpatrick, William "Stealing and Hiding Frozen Assets in a Refrigerator" Jefferson, Jesse "Messy" Jackson, Jr., Roosevelt Dorn,  Merv "illegal Alien-Reverend Jim Jones Flunky" Dymally, Maxine "Kerosene"  Waters, Yvonne "Brentwood" Burke, Pat Moore, etc., etc.,  for stealing, cheating, using false pretenses to hold or run for office, typically, no one is held accountable to the rule of law in the Black community.  If left up to black lawyers, city prosecutors, the so called university educated Black middleclass, etc., etc., no one is held accountable to the Constitution, the "Oath of Office, etc., which also accounts for the total failure of competent elected representation, and dismal economic conditions that exists in Detroit, Atlanta, Baltimore, New Orleans, Compton, etc., etc., for namely U.S. born Black men, women, and children.

http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-949151

http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-182700

In order to hold anyone accountable to the Constitution, the rule of law, the constituency served must believe in and respect the Constitution and/or the "rule of law".  By and large a dysfunctional Black electorate and the misfits who he or she vote for do not believe in or respect the laws of the land, namely the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, etc.

More so that not the majority of the Black electorate and the Black middleclass make heroes of misfits, and disrespect individuals truly worthy of praise, none of this being the fault of White Supremacy.

Be it one or five million links, the information connected with all of the links has validity.

Source: "Will Smith, Jesse Jackson, Chris Rock Support Dr. Boyce Watkins and Russell Simmons’ Campaign Against Mass Incarceration". Selected comment:

"The problem with MASS-INCARCERATION is not the USA JUST_US system…

The problem is with Black people; as the old saying goes, ignorance of the law is no excuse…

When you nine (9) out of ten (10) Blacks taking plea deals, and pleading guilty because of their ignorance, then there is nothing you can do about that…

You go to any city in America, and Black folks will tell you, you better take that deal, these white folks don’t play here…and this is all too common among Blacks…

1) Never give up your right to “REMAIN SILENT”…

2) Never give up your right to a “SPEEDY TRIAL”…

These are the most common rights we give up as a whole…I have been charged with every crime under the SUN, just for being Black…held in jail with a high bond for months waiting to go to trial…put in cells with thugs, and had to fight daily, because the people think that I will plead guilty to their erroneous charges…

NEVER, too strong for that, my mind is not week…

You have Black court appointed attorneys convincing their clients to plead guilty, instead of the attorney doing their job to investigate a case; I guess it is a lot easier to get  $30,000.00 to convince your own race to plead guilty, then to have to work for the money and help convince a jury they are not guilty…

There is nothing your “NOT  the Black people’s President” can do for you…it is like education, it must start in the home…but for some reason, families are first one’s to convince you to take the deal" -PB Short.

-PB Short

There is one positive solution, and that is using the influence necessary to insure that any inept court appointed attorney or otherwise, especially a court appointed Black attorney who has a history of recommending his or her client and/or to any judge of the court that his or her Black and truly innocent client "plead no contest/guilty" be fired on the spot, or barred from ever practicing law again.

Here again, Constitutional protections, such as, the 14th Amendment,  the 5th Amendment, the right to be competently represented by an attorney, the right to be faced by your accuser, the right to a fair and impartial court trial,  etc., etc., these being a necessity for any U.S. citizen protecting his or her property rights, protecting the sanctity of family structure, facing criminal indictment, subsequent fines, and/or jail time.

I can relate to the many individuals in the Black community facing hard times, who after attempting to find lawful work but who still remain unemployed who are left with no other option but to resort to stealing or committing a criminal act as a last resort to feed, provide clothing, and provide shelter for themselves and any sibling.  In contrast stealing "hair products/hair extensions" won't help the needy, the hungry, or provide shelter for the homeless, and is of little value to the underemployed or unemployed, or anyone facing hard times.

Thanks for the sharing this.  Sure can't fault  "White Supremacy" racism/Racist Caucasians/Racist Republicans, etc., etc., for the actions of foolish black women stealing hair products, and the resulting truly earned criminal indictment, fines, and jail time that will soon follow.  I'm willing to bet my last dollar that these Black women who face criminal indictment for an alleged theft of hair weave products from a Korean beauty supply business, would expect the basic Constitutional protections, such as the 4th, 5th, 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, the right to a fair and impartial trial, the right to be faced by the accuser, etc., etc., that is if these women have just a little common sense, "Street Smarts", Mother Wit, basic intelligence, elementary school education,  etc.

When my reputation, personal freedom and property rights are on the line, I'm  going to make maximum use of the "Bill of Rights", the U.S. Constitution, and if a government employee or agency has wrongfully violated my rights,  then the appropriate elected official will be petitioned for redress, which is making good use of the 1st Amendment.  This set of tools and the 14th Amendment, which guarantees U.S. citizenship protections to any U.S. born descendant of slavery, is easy to acquire, and I don't have to go back to the "Jim Crow"  era or the year 1867 to make this a reality.

On a personal note, I make it a point not to do anything criminal that would make me a defendant, and I look for every opportunity to be on the right side of the law, which truly benefits any plaintiff.

Better yet, in addition ask his son, a convicted felon who truly earned his prison stripes former Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr.,  the same question.

More so than his father, jackleg poverty pimping Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr., the convicted felon and former Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr.,  truly held an elected office position of influence, where he should or could have made a difference, but who instead chose to be a thief, and/or to betray his own constituency, many of these individuals being of the same ethnicity.

Listening to the misleading statements of anti U.S. Constitution advocates and the merits of the U.S. citizenship bashing crowd, the actions of the Lying-Hypocrite-Despot-President Barack "the illegal alien bootlicking" Obama, Jesse Jackson, Jr. and Jesse Jackson, Sr., must also be the fault of the Dread Scott Decision, Caucasian enslavement of Blacks in America,  Caucasian Covert and Overt Racism in America, or other nonsense, that is light-years away from the truth.
