Empty Chair Symbol Of Obama's Presidency

MikeHuckabee.com AdvertiserPresident Obama is being haunted by empty chairs. Clint Eastwood was savaged by the media for using an empty chair to represent Obama in his convention routine, but his idea has caught on like wildfire. Maybe because a beloved American icon finally gave Americans permission to poke fun at Obama. In fact, the Empty Chair just may become the enduring symbol of the 2012 election. On the Internet, Monday wasn’t Labor Day, it was National Empty Chair Day, when conservatives posted photos of empty chairs in exotic places. Some are putting empty chairs in their yards instead of campaign signs. Liberals tried to fight back with what they call “Eastwooding,” mocking Clint by posting photos of themselves talking to empty chairs. But too late: every photo has an empty chair, and now, everyone who sees it just thinks of Obama.

Obama & The Housing Crisis

You have to give the Democrats props for successfully sending the housing crisis down the memory hole. From their campaign rhetoric, you’d think the so-called “failed policies of the past” were all Republican ideas like smaller government and lower taxes. No, the economic crisis had nothing to do with the housing bubble that began with a massive Democratic push to force banks to give home loans to people who couldn’t qualify for them. But with terrible timing for the Democrats, that inconvenient truth has burst out of the crypt and back into the news, just as they were convening in Charlotte.

Yesterday, the Daily Caller revealed some previously unpublished court information about a landmark case that many consider the fuse that set off the subprime mortgage boom and eventually, the economic meltdown. It was a 1995 discrimination lawsuit against Citibank, on behalf of a group of African-Americans who claimed they couldn’t get loans because of their race. It was part of a coordinated effort at the time by progressive groups. The banks didn’t want to be sued or accused of racism, so they loosened requirements for credit history and down payments. What the Daily Caller discovered is that among the original plaintiffs in that case, there was a startling loan failure rate. Out of about 186 homebuyers, roughly half have since gone bankrupt or received one or more foreclosure notices. As few as 19 still own homes with clean credit ratings. Even some of the plaintiffs now say the banks never should’ve made those loans.

And here’s the kicker: the lead attorney on that case that prompted banks to start making home loans to people who couldn’t qualify for them was a young Chicago community activist named Barack Obama.

Finally, I want to share my thoughts about the tone of the presidential campaign.  You know it’s going to be a nasty campaign when the worst character assassination you can make against an opponent gets made before both parties are even done with their conventions. But Monday, at a Democratic convention breakfast, California Democratic Party Chairman compared Paul Ryan to Hitler’s Nazi Party propagandist Joseph Goebbels. You know, there’s a rule on the Internet called Godwin’s Law. It states that in any discussion thread, the first person to compare his opponent to Hitler or the Nazis automatically loses the argument and the discussion is over. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just say, “Okay, the election’s over. We don’t have to go for another eight weeks and see how much lower this can go.”

Sincerely,

So whose fault is it that Democrats, Republican and Educators have not suggested that double-entry accounting be mandatory in our schools for the last 50 years?

What would that have done to the economy by now?  NOBODY KNOWS!

Double-entry accounting is older than Shakespeare according to the palefaces.  So why does everybody get Shakespeare in high school?  How long are Negroes going to let White people tell them what education is?  What if it is really designed to keep most White people ignorant?

If people could figure out that the loans would do them more harm than good then maybe the housing bubble never would have happened.

This is where the American Short Term Memory (or the Orwellian Memory Hole) shines.

This explanation has seen many different forms and has been shot down in every incarnation.  It is, however, a hustle of language that looks to appeal to the responsible and prudent individual  while taking complete focus off of the other part of the equation (the institution that actually grants the loan).

For people who do not buy into this frame, and have no fear of questioning the entire system- its easy to intellectually K.O. anyone who raises this garbage, starting with the amount of people who qualified for non sub prime loans yet where steered right into them.  Of course to understand why that would ever happen, you can either be satisfied with blaming the conservatives, or we can begin to examine the economic system that depends on perpetual compound rates of growth.
