K. I can think of one that I remember the origin of, ha.

Surprisingly (considering my SN), a couple people have recently taken to calling me Ma'am.

Being as laidback as I generally am, a group of people I was working on a project with would joke about how when people started slacking, I'd take charge and get the job done. "Where did that quiet girl go?" The guy who started the name would answer that "Ma'am is here." He said that when I'm in let's get this done mode, I'm delegating tasks and working so quickly that all anyone else could say is "Yes, Ma'am."

Another recent one is Enigma.
family nickname:beanhead-because i shoved red beans up my nose as a child and had to go get them out at the hospital.

around the way nickname: msprettygirl-well because i am damn pretty! Big Grin just joking Wink people random and known alike tend to call me this. I said before i would describe myself more as cute than pretty but everyone seems to disagree with me. nono
I was nick named "goofus" in the projects. Apparently the other kids thought I was wierd. I had zero interest in professional sports. I would play baseball but I wouldn't watch or talk about pro sports. To me it was deathly boring. Worse than watching paint dry because of the audience making noise.

I started high school in '66. The year of Star Trek. I was one of those kids that got nick named "Mr. Spock." I played along with it since it was somewhat funny but I didn't like him much. Kirk and Spock reminded me of the Lone Ranger and Tonto, Kimosabe in outer space. Yeah, right! Then in '67 they came up with the Mirror, Mirror episode. Now you know what I really mean when I say, "Beware of Vulcans from the Dark Side."

"Beam the former captain into space Mr. Sulu. Minimum dispersion, let's see how long he can breath vacuum."

What do you mean you were expecting a short explanation and not intending to beam back to the 60's? This IS the short explanation. lol

Depending on the period of my life......

Birth; nickname-Mike (a long story)

Athletic days/HS days; holy terror, Dr. Doom, Mr.

Military days; sarge, old sarge, big sarge (self explanatory), bow legged Lou, vulture, big guy, and SGT crazy

catch
When I was a little girl my nickname was Channel 12, they say the reason behind this is because I used to talk a lot and I knew just about everybodies business on the block. Then when I was in Middle School I was call Jazzy Girl, my music teacher started this because of the type of music I listen to and because of my name. As of now my nickname is one I perfer very much no one, and I mean no one at all, outside of my soon to be husband call me or know.
In grade school... Chuy(pronounced 'Chewy'). Those damn little racist f-ers used to make fun of my hair by associating me with the Star Wars character Chubaka.

In high school... Malik Shabaaz. Because I was militant.

In College... White girl(pronounced 'gul'). Because of my California manerisms, a.k.a I had no southern drawl, and therefore "Sounded like the folks on TV". Many other Cali transplants at the HBCU I went to had this same nickname. It could be confusing in the cafateria.

Malaika... because of all my Swahili speaking friends... it is the equivalent in meaning of my government first name.
SOME OF MY NICKNAMES ARE:

"THE BIG DM"- SINCE MY NAME IS DONNA MARIA, THERE WAS A RADIO STATION IN COLUMBIA,SC CALLED THE BIG DM 101.3FM, AND IT JUST STUCK.

"DEE" SOME OF MY FRIENDS CALL ME THIS---I THINK THEY ARE JUST TO LAZY TO SAY DONNA, SO THEY CALL ME DEE laugh

"PUDDING" MY MOTHER CALL ME THIS BECAUSE MY FAVORITE DESSERT WHEN I WAS YOUNG WAS CHOCOLATE PUDDING, AND SHE SAID I USE TO SAY IT THIS WAY --CHOLATE PUEING--THINGS KIDS SAY HUH? Big Grin

"POSSUM" MY BROTHER CALLS ME THIS, I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY HE DOES. I HAVE TO ASK HIM ONE DAY, {ITS A REALLY COUNTRY NAME, DONT YOU THINK?} Confused

"SMOOCHIE POOCHIE" AND "POODIE POOH"-NAMES MY HUSBAND GAVE ME, HE SAID BECAUSE I LIKE TO KISS. Red Face
Well here are some of mine:

Bubby - what my baby sister called/calls me in lieu of big brother. Also what my dad's side of the family calls me

T, Big T, (occasionally Mr. T) - T is the first letter of my first name. The latter is due to growing up in the era of the A Team, and being rather large and scary to some people.

Toto - what my mom's side of the family calls me.
Mimi... dont know why but I was Mimi until I was in elementary school and The Color Purple came out; my family started calling me Squeak because I got beat up by a real big girl for talking mess and I always wanted to sing; hence the character that got her ass beat by Miss Sophia over Harpo at the Juke Joint. "Harpo I thought this here our Juke Joint"... "You just a big ole heffa(heifer)ha ha ha"Razz

Black Barbie.. this is what I was most teased with throughout middle school...

a lesser one was: Chocolate Chip

and then in high school: Vanna Black...

really anything with black in it and something prissy...

Heard the first one, but not the others...

Occasionally D by guys and DD by women.
My first nickname was not really a nickname it was just a whole new name; my mother wanted my middle name to be Natalie and my dad wanted Nacole. My dad won but my mother still calls me Natalie today and has convinced my dad to do so as well....when I was pregnant with my son I got the nickname Phat Baby but other than that most people call me Yoli. My first name is Yolonda
"G-Money": for my prowess on the basketball court...

"Don't Be So Mean!!": Not really a knickname, but something I used to hear from my friends when I played football... When I hit someone, it was for keeps...

"Audioguy": For obvious reasons...

"Blade": When I shaved my head, a guy I used to work with called me that...

BTW Tru2urself16, I was in an art store today and I saw the painting that you have as your avatar and I said to myself... "... why does that look so familiar?"... Now I know why...
