She is doing a story that the MSM "glosses over". CrystalMeth addiction.

I hate to admit it but I smile very time a see the WHITE face of the addicts.

But the sad thing is this isn't something new. White's have been using Meth for YEARS. I know a Ph.d that admits that she and her family made in their basement.

But they spend so much time and effort putting a black face on America's drug problem that this one drug problme was allowed to grow and fester.

I can't believe you would say something so... awww, who am I kidding? I may not smile, but I damn sure do chuckle and smirk.

Putting a black face on social dysfunction keeps people like Bill Cosby denigrating poor Black folks, and provides disinformation to alleged intellectuals like Williams, Sowell, et al.

Amen.

The first time I heard of this it was being called just 'crystal' and 'ice' - this was back in the eighties and the reason I happened to even hear of it was because one night a certain person I know was driving home late at night down a highway and happened to see a mercedes overturned off the highway; he stopped to help and try to call EMS for this person, but this person begged and pleaded and offered money for him to just call his wife and take him home, which this person did, even though he was bleeding very badly and the car was basically totaled, however, this person refused to accept this prominant official's money or offers of favors for merely doing what he thought was a good deed or the right thing to do; anyway, this person happened to be a VERY prominate public official (of whom to this day neither he or I ever 'outed' about this highly illegal and dangerous activity), so I am not suprised by this crystal meth usage and how rampant it is within the white community and have known for a long time that people would be shocked and amazed to know exactly who is really using it.

What makes me sick about this racist ass justice system is how dangerous drugs like this really are compared to even the crack that Black addicts use, but it is usually the Black drug addict (or dealer) the only one winding up in court or prison, and all of the worst that you have heard about this 'meth' is no exaggeration; I happen to know a woman who's son was robbed and murdered by two men high on meth and after murdering him and jacking his car they rode around for days with his decaying corpse in the back floor of the car; they had made it through three states and were stopped only because a state trooper happened to notice that they began to drive irratically when they saw him, signaled for them to stop/pull over, but they tried give chase but were caught (everyone believes that they were trying to make to a place to bury this young man where it could not be traced back to them). Now this is the kind of stuff that they do on crystal meth, while Black men langish in prisons with 10/15/20/40 year sentences for often a few ounces of coke or crack.

I guess perhaps depending on what time period you grew up in, certain drugs are linked with certain people:

Cocaine = Rich, white
Crack = Poor, Black
Meth = Poor, White
Marijuana = Young, urban
Special K/Ecstacy/Mushrooms/LSD = Young, white "club kids" or Hippies

And so forth. While it is always pleasant to turn on the TV and not see a Black face held up as an example of what is wrong in the world, I'm not very comfortable with people trying to put a "face" on anything. People miss a lot of warning signs and opportunities to help and push for change because they are caught up in the stereotype.

In the meantime, every now again the news will show a drug raid on an upper-middleclass home that nets hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars worth of drugs, and the occupants are not of African descent. But, oh' it's the inner-city dwellers who are always slanging drugs and living off of ill-gotten gains.
In high school, Blacks and non-Blacks never believed me when I said that I knew way more Whites who did drugs than I did Blacks.

It was only after I graduated that I began to see studies that confirmed what I was saying and so I never got to say my I told you so.

I think the tv images that linked drugs with Black faces made me hard to believe, but things aren't changing that much.

Not to long ago there was a public service commerical about meth and the face on the commerical was a young Black girl. sck

In know what you mean. As a college student, I see tons of white and a few Asians smoking pot and dropping acid, but we all know the likelihood of these guys actually being prosecuted are slim. Meanwhile, in a ghetto far away, some Black teenager will be spending 5 years in jail for marijuana on his person. Just to clarify, I'm not aganst "low-level" street drugs like pot and LSD, but I think that if you're going to prosecute, do so fairly. Even with "hard" drugs, there is a disparity; crack cocaine garners a tougher sentence than powdered cocaine..why???? But then why is it that study after study shows that while whites make up 3/4 of drug users, Blacks are still 11 times more likely to be prosecuted for drug usage?
