Happy that LL Cool J declined to have his image used in this way. And Fox is up to their old tricks again. They act like such little bitches over there. Read the comment about his 'fledgling acting career'.

Palin's show drops LL Cool J after he complains

NEW YORK -- An upcoming Fox News Channel special hosted by Sarah Palin is titled "Real American Stories."

But rapper-actor LL Cool J says his participation in the show was bogus.

In response, the network has snipped him from the program.

In a Twitter posting late Tuesday, the entertainer wrote that Fox "lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW."

Country singer Toby Keith was similarly caught by surprise, his publicist said Wednesday.

Elaine Schock said a radio reporter contacted her Tuesday seeking details about Keith's announced appearance on Palin's Fox News program.

"I said, 'You're wrong. There is no Sarah Palin special with Toby Keith on it on Fox,'" Schock said.

She said the reporter then e-mailed her the press release issued by Fox News, which said Keith would "explain the inspiration behind his song 'Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.'"

Schock said she believed the interview was conducted in January 2009 in Las Vegas but she had received no e-mail or phone call from Fox News informing her it would air on Palin's show this week.

She said Keith would not request that the footage be removed. She would not comment on his reaction to it being used on the show.

"Real American Stories," which debuts Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT, is hosted by Palin, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, who joined Fox News Channel as a regular contributor in January. The one-hour program is described by Fox News as "the first installment of a new series" that features "real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape."

Fox News says the episode, which was not available for preview, will feature a Marine Medal of Honor recipient "who gave his life to save his comrades" and a wealthy stockbroker who helps underprivileged students pay for college.

Originally listed as part of the show were former General Electric boss Jack Welch and LL Cool J in a segment called "In Their Own Words."

The LL Cool J interview was from 2008, his spokesman said.

"Contrary to what was reported, LL Cool J was never scheduled to be a guest on 'Real American Stories' with Sarah Palin this week," spokesman Rhett Usry said in a statement Wednesday. "The show had planned to use an interview from 2008 that was being repurposed without LL's permission.

"This statement is not a reflection of any feelings LL has toward Fox News or Ms. Palin, whom he has never met, rather a clarification of what we have seen published in the media."

Fox News Channel did not respond to numerous calls and e-mails from The Associated Press inquiring about the status of the segment with LL Cool J, who was born James Todd Smith.

But in a statement released to other media outlets, the network said: "'Real American Stories' features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith's interview fits that criteria. However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career."

Credits for the 42-year-old actor include a starring role in the hit CBS freshman series "NCIS: Los Angeles" and several films such as "Last Holiday" and "S.W.A.T."

It was unclear when or if future editions of "Real American Stories" will appear on Fox News. Thursday's airing pre-empts "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren."

Palin's ongoing relationship with Fox News Channel as a host and news analyst accounts for only part of her television activities. Last week, the TLC cable network announced "Sarah Palin's Alaska," an eight-part series about Palin's home state that is set to start production this summer.

Fox News Channel is owned by News Corp.

I guess this was one of the corporate board room brain storm sessions in order to draw in young African Americans to gain interest in the Republican Party.

Because Michael Steele definitely ain't working out.

Have rap/hip hip icon LL Cool J present his life story while being interviewed by Sarah Palin on her new Fox show "Real American Stories".

Just forget about the fact that this would totally screw up his long standing popularity & image among his fans and the African American community. That's not even important.

Quote: "In a Twitter posting late Tuesday, the entertainer wrote that Fox "lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW."

And why LLCool J? The problem here seems to be misrepresentation, not the fact that he declined any offer(s). Would he have agreed if they actually approached him? Did he give Fox any indication (or someone among his handlers) that he might be remotely interested?

UNLESS LL is possibly, a closet Republican?
I just can't figure out why they (fox and others) are trying to shove her down everone throat?

I think they're trying to make her president.

Remember ... her first impression to the world was that of a dingbat!  Whether you liked her or not, every time she spoke ... that woman was as dumb as a bag of rocks!

So it looks like to me they're trying to change her image.  If they can increase her (perceived) IQ to the level of her popularity .... then *ding* *ding* *ding ... they've got a WINNER!
Sarah Palin would be a godsend if she was elected the Republican Party candidate for President in 2012.

Can you imagine President Obama & Palin debating each other? I would pay $49.99 + tax Pay-Per-View to see that!

Can you imagine her conferencing with foreign leaders on the world stage? Commander-In-Chief? Meeting & working with the NAACP or the CBC? Town hall/campaigning in the African American, Hispanic or Asian community?

The problem with Sarah Palin is that she is just academically challenged, lack basic common sense, lacks diversity in race relations and does not have the mental capacity to learn, digest & understand anymore that she already knows about politics, both domestic & abroad. In other words, she's just not that smart and her brain is tapped out.

And she is an extremely lucky person which is her only true asset.

John McCain's campaign staff revealed that after the general election when they were trying to coach her during the general election for the VP debate with Joe Biden. They said that she just doesn't get it.

Her "looks", charm & appeal is all "Southern Belle" White woman in nature, which bodes & carries well for the White conservative U.S. geographic across the country that she impresses/supports her but notice that the Republicans inside Washington, both the Congress & the House, are never seen with her, don't talk about her unless asked, and don't associate with her publically and don't have anything to do with her on national TV or anywhere else unless she's helping them to fund raise  or campaign from the fringes.

The entire MSM ( MSNBC, ABC, CBS & ABC etc) except Fox News, rarely ever request her for interviews. I have never seen her on any major cable news networks except for promoting her book since the election.

They will report & probably interview her from the field, but they never invite her for an in-studio, sit down interview. Those Katie Couric interviews on CBS will last forever and she will never recover from that.

They all know that she is just a sideshow; toxic, unprepared & irrevelent to their chances of winning the Presidency (but she's great at the grass roots level and will generate support for the Nov elections) but just like Michael Steele, they cannot reveal that openly to their core supporters because that negativity would surely lose support, $$$ and votes for all candidates from the base.

Last week, Sarah Palin campaigned for John McCain, who is in a fight to retain his Arizona senate seat. The crowd was 9,000+ in attendance and Palin, not McCain, was the person that they came to see as told to the local supporter by several attendees. So if Sarah decides to run for Prez, support will be much greater (since she energizes the base) but if she decides not to run or runs and drops out early, those base supporters will drastically drop off in numbers since those D.C. Republicans who decide to run for President, have yet to rally the base and don't have the attraction that Sarah has. They will wait as usual, and do it last minute prior to the Republican elections.

So in essence, they only need her to rally the troops, raise money, cheer lead and/or endorse a candidate if she decides to not run, but they know that once she elevates about the core base Republicans, she is a disaster waiting to happen, They cannot afford to have her as the Republican candidate for President and if she just happens to win the Republican nomination, the educated Republicans (young & old) will stray, Independents will turn away and both the Democrats and MSM will happily smell blood in the water and it will be "here we go all over again" for the Republicans.

It's almost like the Republicans in D.C. are forever stuck with this current crop of inept politicans (Palin & Steele) that they purposely put in place, realize now that they have turned into major mistakes and wish that they could get rid of but they can't because they know that it will cost them dearly in the end.

The most popular & effective Republican that has the voice and support at the core of the Republican base is Sarah Palin and that's not a good thing.

I don't think i'll ever get over that chick writing on her hand the same five topics she had been discussing since prior to the 08 elections, (energy, taxes, lift the american spirits, etc)...shouldn't she know those topics inside and out by now, having discussed them on every radio show and every public appearance,  without having to write them on her hand?

That would be like one of members writing MLK, Malcolm X, jobs, no justice no peace, and soulfood on our hands

shocking!  and hilarious!

Exactly. This is the most succint, correct analysis of her I've ever read. Exactly.
I just HATE the way Palin talks.  MY GOD! Even though she tries to sound like she knows what she's talking about...any half-brain wit can tell she has no clue.  Absolutely...not one inch.  I'm just afraid that there are others who are blind to her empty persona and will vote for her in the next election...just cuz they like HER.  And you know she is gonna run.  Right?  Saying that she doesn't know if she will or a bunch of bull.  Heiffer is gonna definitely run.  I just pray and hope that America is not that stupid and vote for her.  Please....Please....whatever you not vote for her.  Cuz I project it will be the worse thing to do in our fragile COUNTRY.  Talk about Taliban.  Enemies will be coming out the walls, from the ground, cracks in the toilet.... EVERYWHERE...if this heiffer wins!  Think I'm lying?  Watch.
