Fraud charges filed against mother of Jackson's accuser
LOS ANGELES (AP) "” The woman whose son accused Michael Jackson of child molestation was charged with welfare fraud Tuesday for allegedly collecting nearly $19,000 in payments while making false claims.
At Jackson's trial, the woman invoked her Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination and refused to testify about the welfare matter.

But Jackson's lawyers presented evidence that she and her family had received a $150,000 settlement in a 2001 lawsuit against a department store at a time when she was claiming to be poor. They also showed the woman was receiving money from her boyfriend to pay the rent on her apartment.

The complaint filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office alleged that the woman hid from authorities the fact that she had received the settlement and also failed to report the receipt of $637 for payment of her rent in January 2003.

The Associated Press is withholding the name of the woman to protect the identity of her son.

The woman was a key witness for the prosecution against Jackson, who was acquitted of all charges. Many jurors said her lack of credibility on the witness stand was a major factor in their verdict.

All those people who were ready to ignore the evidence and send MJ to prison just because they didn't like him because he doesn't like who he is. So what? What's that got to do with guilt or innocence?

All during that trial I wondered what the hell happened to "innocent until proven guilty". I credit the man for risking everything, every damn thing and standing trial. That whole trial the only thing I thought he was guilty of was bad judgement, stupidity, and a poor choise of so-called "friends and advisors".

Popcorn....so where are those people in this forum that once again.....reaffirmed their damn foolness...and the cold part of it is.....they never can even humble themselves to admit they were saying dumb biased and racist BS......but I guess that is a part of being a troubled individual....only seeing reality the way they want to and choosing to appear stupid as opposed to coming out and admitting they were wrong....the silence in here is maddening........

I can't speak for the ones here, K41. But the ones close to where MJ lives are still out there, watching, waiting for him to make even a small mistake.

I hope he realizes this and behaves accordingly. Despite his flaws, poor judgement, I still give him credit, for his life's work, for the music that made my heart dance, for everything he has done for ALL the poor and needy of the world. No one can take that away from him.

I'm sorry to see what has happened to his life for the last 15 or so years. BUT, there is always hope that he will turn it around. I don't think he will be able to recover from a third time, if there is a third time.

I'm in full agreement with Zodo. Beyond praise for his entertainment ability, Michael Jackson would not be considered a "brotha" and never will be.

Unless someone else intitiates the discussion, there will be no further discussion on Michael Jackson, by me. Indeed, it is a waste of time, to continue discussion on Michael Jackson, who basically has no connection to the Black community!

Ah....NOW it is time to no longer continue to dicuss MJ...I guess that is because he did not get found guilty of what the self-haters basically had him already on lockdown for.......they had a whole bunch of shit to say back then when it was probable that he actually did what he was accused of.....but when he gets off the hook....silence......when it comes down to his accuser being a fucking liar and theif...more silence without condemnation of her.....and I guess the outcome did not provide more fodder for the self-hating diatribe about how black people are so fucked up and lack morality, values, self-respect, human dignity and just plain old decency alltogether....there is nothing that is a lower form of human being than an opportunist........they are like scavengers waiting for something to die so they can feed off of it.....if nothing dies (in this case dying means black people doing something wrong)they do not get to eat(which in this case means to degrade blacks) and they starve to death(which in this case means to remain silent).....they could also be compared to parasites....that feed off of the underbelly (misfortunes) of black people....they would be half-azz decent people if they recanted the dumb schit they say....but dumb motherf-kers have ego problems when it comes to learning, hence how they became dumb motherf-kers in the first place....most humans have the ability to be smart (in the eyes of the beholder) individuals.....their mentality and behavior limits their own self-development.....and as much as you hate em....you somewhat pity them.........
