Casselberry, Fla., resident Zikomo Peurifoy was tasered repeatedly on July 7, when he refused to present his ID after allegedly jaywalking, according to Opposing Views. SEE ALSO: Dad Who Killed Wife Ordered To Pay Children $60M Peurifoy and his friend Noelle Price were riding their bikes, when they allegedly crossed the middle of a street. Two patrolmen approached them and promptly accused them of jaywalking. Peurifoy reportedly told the officers that he and his companion had done nothing wrong. On the video, Peurifoy contends that the request made by the policemen was “not a lawful command.” The young man is seen requesting the statute that requires him to produce identification and one of the officers says, “Provide me with your ID and we’ll take it from here.” A flustered Peurifoy is seen adamantly refusing to produce his ID and the officers are shown preparing to arrest him as he continuously repeats the phrase, “Do not hurt me! This is an attempted false arrest!” During the incident, Price is overheard screaming, “You need to get your supervisor, go and get your supervisor.” After several minutes go by of the officers trying to get Peurifoy to acquiesce to their demands, he is tasered three times and handcuffed on the ground. An arrest affidavit states that Peurifoy had on his person a handgun, which he had a permit to carry. Police also discovered that Price had an unloaded handgun, brass knuckles, and a small knife. The couple was booked on resisting arrest and other charges. The kicker? In spite of Peurifoy’s and Price’s complaints, authorities are now considering using the video of the tasering to train cops. Casselberry Police Captain David Del Rosso told Opposing Views that he may use the controversial video as training, adding: “The officers were polite the whole time through and gave good verbal commands. You hear the officer saying why he stopped him.” What exactly will the video teach police? When you are met with any resistance, you have the greenlight to taser your victim? Weigh in and
