Subject: Jamie Foxx - Music Special Controversy on NBC

Please take the time to forward the below message to everyone in your
address book. NBC is not doing any marketing and publicity on Jamie's
Music Special on NBC because he stood his ground and wouldn't have any
white guests as they requested. To make it even worse he had two
controversial guest stars that do not fit the "NBC profile" on his show.
Tune in to find out who they are. They are purposely putting his show
up against the second week of American Idol in hopes that it will fail.
This will give them the excuse to never give another black person a music special because "it doesn't work." Let's show them that it does work, and that we support each other. Tivo Idol and watch Jamie.
I saw the taping, it is a good show.

Jamie Foxx making history on NBC . This is the first time NBC has ever
aired an entire young urban African American cast on a music special.
We need to show support. This was not an easy sell for Jamie and he
stood his ground to make it happen the way he saw fit.

JAMIE FOXX MUSIC SPECIAL WILL BROADCAST

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25TH @ 8:00PM PST on NBC.

PLEASE MAKE IT A POINT WATCH!

"Jamie Foxx Unpredictable," a television concert in which the actor/singer attempts to parlay his Oscar success into R&B success tonight on NBC, did not hit the stage without some controversy. An e-mail string, sent randomly throughout the Internet world, claimed NBC was not properly promoting the show, set to air at 8 p.m. opposite FOX's hit "American Idol." The e-mail also claimed that NBC shied from promoting the Foxx musical special because Foxx refused the network's request that he sing with some white musicians and others, such as rapper Snoop Dogg, and did not fit the "NBC profile." NBC was not available for comment. This is what the anonymous e-mail said: "NBC is not doing any marketing and publicity on Jamie's Music Special on NBC because he stood his ground and wouldn't have any white guests as they requested. To make it even worse he had two controversial guest stars that do not fit the 'NBC profile' on his show." Curiously, the e-mail goes on to tease readers: "Tune in to find out who they are. They are purposely putting his show up against the second week of American Idol in hopes that it will fail." One online magazine, DV Republic, which covers Hollywood's black actors, attempted to debunk the e-mail on its Web site. DV Republic reports: "We contacted a DV Republic spook who sits behind a NBC door who did an investigation and informed us that none of this is true. They point to Jamie's talk show appearances, on air promos, and most significantly, THE SHOW WILL BE REPEATED TWICE IN THE SAME WEEK." In addition, NBC aired two promotional commercials for "Jamie Foxx Unpredictable" on Tuesday night during its hit show "Scrubs." So it looks like someone is trying to pull the strings of controversy and dupe people into watching "Jamie Foxx Unpredictable" instead of letting the actor/singer's talent speak for itself.

**I wonder if this is damage control by NBC....but this source of information has always been factual so they probably did some homework first......
