The american political philosophy known as conservatism is defunct, and was proven so by the near crash of the economy by an unregulated banking and real estate system in 08.
That happened on a Republican shift.
Consulting my Garbledygook to English Dictionary...
The hecklers were so raucous Obama went off-script several times to address them, insisting he's increased AIDS funding and is working to overturn the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. He told them to go shout at Republicans, noting that a vote on repealing "don't ask, don't tell" failed this week in the Senate, with Republicans united in opposition.
"Some of those signs should be going up at the other folks' events, and folks should be hollering at the other folks' event. Because the choice in November could not be clearer," the president said.
Obama's party has the majority in both houses of congress. How is this the fault of the republicans? Since you brought up the past, all these democrats came in the office under the banner of 'CHANGE', it is not like they didn't know the state of the union when they went to Washington, it is their job to fix it. They clearly do not know how, but they said they would. How ist that the fault of republicans?
He's not blaming them for everything .... just everything bad, negative, and detrimental to the best interests of the American population as a whole.
And why?? Well ..... because it's their fault, that's why!!!!
Actually, pretty much ALL of the Democrats (and Republicans) were already in Congress when the "banner of CHANGE' went up!! Have been there for decades. Which is why 'CHANGE' was even necessary to begin with!!!
The real problem is that the Republicans will not let 'CHANGE' happen. They refuse to agree to anything except the continuation of their failed, socially-destructive policies.
Now ... if only the Democrats could only replace all the Republicans in Congress with a new set of Democrats elected to come in "under the banner of CHANGE" .... then CHANGE might actually happen!! But, until then ....
This is a tri-partite government we have. Those hecklers really should have been at Republican and Blue-Dog democrat events. I have plenty of beef with Obama these days, but this here is just real stupid. You don't blame a supporter of a bill for the bill being defeated. You blame the opposers.
OMG! This comment makes absolutely no sense. But I digress. Let me make a recommendation that may help you –you need to pick up and read a book on civics. They have such books for high school students to help them understand how government works. I’m not suggesting that you could only understand such reading (high school level) but it would be very easy and synoptic in its approach. What you obviously fail to understand is that there are three major branches of federal government and they were created as a check and balance system. Bottom line is this: It does not matter what the rhetoric or promises is of a president or members of congress, if they do not have the proper number of congressional votes, a bill or legislation will not and cannot pass. END OF SUBEJECT!
California is a perfect example of this type of political gridlock and grandstanding. Currently, California is at a financial standstill while the state is sliding into an horrific budget abyss because of the ongoing vitriolic war between Schwarzenegger and the democrats and republicans. There is a pending voter proposition that is being floated to put an end to the political gridlock because of a supermajority ruling. The proposition would change it from a super majority requirement (e.g. ¾ vote) to a simple majority vote in order to end the state budget gridlock.
Obama and democrats are facing a similar problem. It is not that they have not tried or do not want to, they simply cannot pass major legislation without the required congressional votes (e.g. , 60 senatorial votes). With pernicious republicans committed to defeating (a calculated and deliberate effort to make him look ineffective and it’s working!) every bill or legislation that Obama proposes regardless of the impact it has on American taxpayers. It’s amazing so many people (original Obama supporters, independents, Negro hecklers, et al) like yourself do not seem to understand this…..
Because it definitely would be ... given the fact that you SAID you were going to do it .. and FAILED. I mean, you couldn't blame the elephant for not moving, right?? So, if not you, who else's fault could it be??
Is planned obsolescence a factor and does the government have anything to do with it?
Do the financial decisions that tens of millions of Americans have made over the last 50 years have anything to do with it. I have never heard the Democrats or the Republicans say that accounting should be mandatory in the schools. Both parties seem to have always believed in the "keep the dummies running on the treadmill philosophy". The Democrats pretend to be on the side of the workers and the Republicans are on the side of business.
When did the Democrats say that all workers should understand that 700 year old double-entry accounting? The Dems just have a different style of being full of crap than the GOP.
