IN CELEBRATION OF WOMEN: by Queen Afua (author of "Heal Thyself" and "Sacred Woman")

Full Woman FREE

All we want to do HERE is be FULL WOMEN
We can't be Full and Free if we drip drop, drip drop,...uhhhh...
We just want to be as FREE and FULL as the ROARING OCEAN. The BLAZING
SUN and Full MOON and Wide Earth and High Mountains and Space.

We just want to be natural Women.

Those Women who CREATED the PYRAMIDS,
that still stand to the HEAVENS
Those Women who lived off the herbs & bushes &
berries & YOU, CREATOR!

WHATEVER YOU WANT TO BE AS A WOMAN, GO ON AND BE
CAN'T NOBODY PUT NO LIMITS ON ME!

If you want to be an Artist, go on and be
If you want to be a SCIENTIST, go on and be
If you want to be a MOTHER who's a WRITER, go on and be!
If you want to make soup, or own a business or
do cartwheels down the street, go on and be.

BEING YOURE SO POWERFUL, so PURIFIED, so SPIRITUAL
YOU CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE!

If you want to be PRESIDENT of a country...
Child..go on and BE.

Whatever I wanna DO AND BE...

MOTHER, FATHER, GOD ALREADY GAVE TO ME

We Women JUST WANT TO BE
AND WE ARE GOING TO BE
AND WE ARE FULL WOMEN FREE!

I and Love you Free Women.

I don't want to lose any of you
I LOVE ALL OF ME!
FREE WOMEN...

I give thanks that as I grow older, I grow to understand more of the POWER and STRENGTHS that lie in a BLACK woman's experience of the world. I see them connected to the Earth, to the Moon, to the whole Universe....As I listen more to our TRUE-STORY, KNOWLEDGE, I FEEL a PULL to BLACK womwen, as if I am moving back with Nature...I seek to honour BLACK women and Gain a greater overstanding of them.

Blessings to my QUEENS!
Afroman
Thanks for the beautiful poem Afroman! Jah bless!

Our people have made the mistake of confusing the methods with the objectives. As long as we agree on objectives, we should never fall out with each other just because we believe in different methods, or tactics, or strategy. We have to keep in mind at all times that we are not fighting for separation. We are fighting for recognition as free humans in this society
Malcolm X, 1965
