Replies sorted oldest to newest

1. Creating wealth
Promote "wealth creating behavior" and use your CULTURE to repell WEALTH CONSUMING behavior

2. Education
[b]Use your CULTURE to advance the notion that educational excellence is a favorable ("PHAT") thing and that ignorance is "FAT"

3. Business creation and support
[b]Support policies that favor a FAIR environment for businesses to operate in. Stop electing people with an anti-business streak where if they ever ran a business making use of their current theories THE BUSINESS WOULD BE CLOSED IN A FEW SHORT MONTHS.

4. Home ownership
[b]Support policies that tend to have the community to retain high standards so that the property values will be maintained and where the communities are attractive to both purchasers and lenders. A person selling a home will be able to take their HOME EQUITY gains and use it to purchase a newer home leveraging these financial assets

5. Joblessness
Know the inventory of SKILLS that you have that an employer would want to "purchase". Continue to increase your inventory and you will increase your worth and reduce the rate of "joblessness"

6. Criminal Just Us system
[b]Start by having people NOT TO do actions that would cause them to end up in the police holding cells, appear before a judge, get assigned a incompetent public defender, appear before a racist jury, get sent to a private jail that employs red necks

7. Crime
[b]All of the above will assist in reducing crime

8. Drug War
Stop people from DEMANDING drugs and the CIA won't be able to dump them into your community. If you do receive a kilo of drugs on your doorsteps - you will flush it into the toilet and allow the sewer rats to get high and OD and then die.

9. Racial Profiling
Have departmental policies against the use of Racial Profiling as a snare to entrap someone on another offense.

Make sure that "your race" based on the statistical facts don't support the stereotypes that the racial profiling speak toward.

Work to stop "Sambo Entertainers" from REINFORCING the thug images that complete the cycle, injecting the notion that Black people dressed a certain way are thugs.

10. Health issues
Make sure your people live healthy lifestyles and they will be LESS concerned about government paid healthcare for all

11. Community Esteem
[b]Stop the SAMBO ENTERTAINERS and Thugs from trampling on our esteem and getting paid from it.

12. Urban decay
[b]Floss out the unsavory element and the decay will take care of itself as people with the means to move in and invest funds will bring the community up to standard.
I have put together a reading list to address the education front but I mostly don't get any feedback on the books or the whole concept.

http://africanamericansovereignty.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=13

Education is too expensive and mostly boring the way the palefaces do it. I don't remember a single book the nuns gave us in grammar school but once I discovered science fiction I was often reading two books a week. I decided I was going into science or engineering before I gradusted from grammar school.

ps - The list includes books about money and economics.
I reviewed your comments at the link...interesting commentarty at that site.

I am not sure if the ability to comprehend the 'root' meaning of words that is the crux of the problem; but, whatever the cause the "desire" to read and comprehend is seriously missing in the community of the blaq collective at large....

Some students CAN'T READ PROFICIENTLY. Maybe starting with the basics is important prior to dealing with Sci Fi, etc?

There are probably special books for those people but I don't know what they are. And they may need realspace attention which can't be provided over the internet.

I am assuming there are kids who are reasonably profecient who want to learn but aren't being given any suggestions or direction. I sort of stumbled across sci-fi by accident. I just wonder what I could do if I had a time machine and go back and suggest books to myself as a kid. ROFL There is actuall a sci-fi short story where a character did that.

You can always give me suggestions about what to add to my list CF. I think it is called constructive feedback.

This topic is more relevant now than when I posted it. I felt more optimistic than I do now. And I find irony in why I feel more cynical today than I did back in 2005 because I felt so great after Barack Obama was elected but I can't blame him for my cynicism, 2008 economic meltdown really hurt the black community and we are struggling to get some of that swagger back. Then it seems we are so flooded with negative narratives and events, perhaps its just we have become more aware of what is going on and its typically bad events that make the news. Perhaps being a news and current event junkie puts me in a bubble that impacts my view of the world.

Am I alone, have you become more cynical or more encouraged since 2005?

Can you point to any progress?

So if you can look at that list, what are your thoughts?

How hard is it to change?

I’ve been able to drop two addictions, drinking and chain smoking. There’s other kind of dsyfunctional habits that stand in my way every day.  Nietzche said  that people are largely lazy and passionate. This indisputably applies to all people everywhere.

The question arises, how do we activate our will to overcome our non-constructive habits.  One way is to use  will-power. The evidence before each of us is that  our habits already obstruct our will.

The next question that arises is how bad do you or I want power? How hard will we work to establish some money=power business niches? What if our ability to have power is in direct proportion to our desire to taste  it? Mountains and valleys of inspired hard work can be accomplished by those with the will, the emotional and spiritual desire, to overcome the inner and the outer! Never give up!

Check out the Chinese - not to become like them – only  to understand everything they do that we can apply to our own way.  They work harder than the Europeans. Their children study harder and get the highest grades.  They all  want to drive BMWs and have expensive possessions. For them it is very much about keeping face and keeping up with the Chans. They historically  come from an agricultural and heavy factory  worker background and have been forced to work very much like slaves. This has weirdly given them the aptitude to work harder than anyone else. They lived like dogs for centuries.

For us, what is it? Drive comes down to how much any one person wants it because great inner and outer battles take time to train for and execute.  What else? When else? What's it take to wake?

I had that smoking habit too. Could never get into drinking too much, the hangovers kicked my ass royally.  Three drinks over the course of an evening was it for me, when I was a youngun.  My cousin brought me a bottle of Bacardi Rum from Jamaica years ago; he died, the Bacardi is still here unopened.  It's more than 15 years old.

Started smoking when I was eighteen. Was the thing to do back then. Everyone was into it, cigarette packs were dancing on TV in commercials. All the old movie stars spoke two lines, offered each other a cigarette throughout the movie.

A huge deterrent to smoking is that cancer scare that's looming in front of you and the doctor says he wants a full body X-ray to check lungs for a shadow seen and whatever else. No more smoking; no more shadow.

Lordy, lordy, lordy!!!! I haven't had a cigarette since June of 2014 and every time I THINK I want one, that nuclear X-ray machine looms into my consciousness and the desire goes RIGHT away. Claustrophobia kicked my behind royally in that thing for 20 minutes. Seemed like 20 years. I went into that thing a black woman and damn near came out a white one.

Because of smoking so many years, I have to hit an inhaler every morning once, for the rest of my life to quell shortness of breath. Can't imagine oxygen hanging out of this snoot every day for the rest of my life. Be looking like a black pelican sans the wings. Fortunately, it didn't go that far for me, but it damn sure could have. My Benson & Hedges.

Laying out in the boneyard is not MY CUP OF TEA. I'd like to postpone that for as long as I can, God willing.

I love kissing ALL my babies and showing them how much I love them. I like the little squirrels that run around in my backyard and the birds that come down for the bread laying out there for them, plus I LIKE breathing. Can't enjoy any of that dead.

This was a great thread. I wonder why I didn't see it in 2005?

I think I'm more cynical than I was back then. I have no optimism that govt will address employment and mass incarceration or the devastating effects of manufacturing and service jobs leaving the cities leaving blight and hopelessness. At one time in history people could get out of the violently oppressive south, go "up north", find a decent blue collar job, make a decent home and even send a little back down south to Big Mama nem. That ain't happening anymore and unlikely to happen again.

I think we have to focus on rebuilding Tulsa/Black Wall street, so to speak.  Everyone with some skill, some ideas, some service should be encouraged to create a business and employ at least one other black person.

I think those who have land or relatives with land need to consider getting out of these urban centers that have been abandoned. Get back to that extended family environment where multiple family members all live in the same neighborhood.  Revitalize those old black organizations or create new ones. Let a new generation take over the church or the mosque or the Buddhist center or whatever in the community so there is some sense of purpose and moral guidance. Make sure children are taught black history from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The way we educate black people has to change. We have people going $40k in debt with student loans for a sociology degree or an English degree. Not saying blacks shouldn't major in those things but we need to build skills. We need to build trade internationally, especially with Africa and the Caribbean. We need people who can design and build infrastructure, understand international commerce, telecommunications, media, delivering energy/power reliably, building cars that run on water, etc. Just like there are magnet schools for the arts and for science we need to build schools that are essentially little baby business incubators. Girls that like to do hair need to be taught how to run a multi service beauty shop, how to fly to China and negotiate those bulk weave prices. Kids need to be exposed to photography and music and cooking and sewing and science and getting their hands dirty. Not just sitting at a desk all day. Maybe kids need to be in school year round but transition to a summer curriculum during June and July.

Last but not least, we need to be serious about policing our own communities and getting people into mandatory drug treatment instead of jails. The system wants everybody to get cased up w it h a felony so we can't have guns or jobs.

I know its just a fantasy and a cliche but we really have to do for self. I'm not saying that in a pull/bootstraps type of way.  I'm saying remove the barrier of having to rely on the ethnic majority being fair.

I hear you on needing the drive, willing to take on the battles.

The younger generations will have to want it and go into battle.

I think younger generations are old enough to clearly see the effects of unregulated capitalism, free market trade deals, the wealthy and corporations escaping paying their fair share of taxes, trickle down economics. They can clearly see how the rich older generation pulling up the ladder of upward mobility and benefits behind them. But what they see more clearly is the callous and greedy pathology of the billionaire class and the big business establishment.

They saw the unnecessary war in Iraq and the devastation it brought on families. And what did these veterans come home to, less jobs, less benefits and many of them committing suicide. Meanwhile the rich are getting richer the middle class from where they came is eroding and their prospects of living an equal or higher lifestyle are diminished.

They saw electing a president who looks and spoke different than a white male made little difference in policy that made life better and easier for them. And how this so called democratic republic is really an oligarchy, kleptocracy, plutocracy anything but a government ran by the people.

They see how the Supreme Court is biased against common people and rule overwhelmingly in favor of the rich and paved laws, Citizens United, made corporations people and money speech, so the rich can exploit and rig this so called democracy with money, buy influence and power.

They saw how the banking criminals got away with collapsing the economy and was bailed out with not one of them going to jail, not one bank paid the consequences but became bigger.

They see how the mainstream media, owned by big corp and is complicit in deflecting issues that should matter and are vital to common people but focus on drama and false equivalencies, clouding the issues to veil those behind the scenes who are rigging the economics.

But importantly they see how unchecked capitalism is ruining the Earth with Global warming, Climate change, pollution and killing civility with war and division.

Yeah I think if aliens are smart enough to traverse stars that would mean they have been civilized and peaceable long enough to attain that level of intelligence and wisdom could clearly see that we humans have a long way to go.

I still have not answered the topic question.... I'll get to it.

All of the above is achievable... and the fastest way to address these issues is galvanizing black institutions that already exists, where blacks gather regularly in big numbers to hear a message and incited toward common goals.

Black Churches

HBCU's

Black neighborhood associations

Black education organizations

Black social organizations

Black political organizations

Including the NAACP and The Urban League although they have been fruitless in the past.

All trying to attain a black social, business culture, building and maintaining it.

And I think the catalyst could be the HBCU's where black youth, energy and talent is concentrated that reaches out to blacks at all Universities. Reaching out to black churches and all black organizations linking young and older generations and all social classes.

Churches should change their ministry goals and priorities to change how blacks spend their money,  focus on black businesses and education, investing, properly starting businesses and becoming a culture of base consumers of black businesses. There should be an advisory and mentor organizations on how to provide good services and good business practices to run a successful business and promote them within all black churches and all black organizations to patronize them.

I think the social climate is ripe for this scenario to happen.

So what about those poor uneducated Chinese who are being uprooted from ancestral lands to make way for dams and highrises? What about those Chinese students recently caught in a widespread cheating scandal? What about those Chinese publicly committing suicide due to factory conditions and stress?  What about those Chinese that are mediocre and just can't cut it in their highly competitive school systems?  What about Chinese/Asian American depression and suicide rates which may or may not be associated with the tiger mother phenomenon?

Black people are already working hard. Americans in general work hard as evidenced by increasing productivity with no extra staff and no extra money. We work hard. We now need to work TOGETHER and work for OURSELVES.  We need to understand that something I contribute today may not be realized during my lifetime but will benefit my future generations and that makes working together worth doing.

I totally agree and as a whole we humans have got to get out of being ruled by this pathology of unrelenting, unchecked and self destructive capitalism that is making more humans to think me instead of we and everything including the destruction of our environment boils down to short term profits and perpetual exploitation.

The point was not about going Chinese. It was about motivation and the power of desire to spark movement to change our economic situation.

The biggest way I think Black people could get their needs addressed is to abandon all hope and all forgiveness.

Abandon all ideals you ever had, you ever will have and realize the truth that meets us everyday:

You only have one life, you only have one chance, you can and will die. Only thing that lives on are your children and your achievements.

What has the African race achieved since idk, Arab Conquest in West Africa - nothing.

What is the status of our children? It's laughable.

You shouldn't have any type of hope. I don't have hope. I believe it's perfectly reasonable for the African race to be the perfect global underclass for the rest of the world for another 500 years.

You should have a drive to survive and thrive. To grow. To be strong. To dominate. To die with acclaim and greatness. Not just be another nigga dead due to police, thug life, heart disease, STDs and obesity. Not just be another 9 to 5er, struggling to make ends meet. Not just be content with hearing another White Liberal or Black sellout liberal sweet talk you into believing your situation will change if you vote.

You shouldn't hope for anything at this point. There's nothing to hope for. There's nothing the African race has shown, and I mean absolutely nothing, we have shown that we have a drive to survive and to dominate others.

That's all racism is about at the end of the day. A drive to survive and to dominate others.

Get rid of this, "One day we shall overcome" mentality. Get rid of this, "We just need to fit in" mentality. Get rid of this, "We can't be angry and hateful" mentality.

We should be angry and hateful, we shouldn't wanna fit in with anybody. Fuck everybody. Being angry and hateful and wanting to break away is a perfectly reasonable mentality.

The world hasn't been friendly to us, we shouldn't be friendly to them.

There can be no plan without a change in mentality. The African mentality is fucked. We do the same thing over and over because there's something within the African conscious, that just desires to be dominated, thoroughly dominated by other races.

We don't even have fucking terrorists group resisting. At least the Arabs got that. At least the Arabs got got damn ISIS. There's no resistance anywhere. The Chinese sabotages the Western World daily. Near about all the former Asian colonies are doing fine, Africa can't even build anything without the Chinese.

It doesn't have to be all of us. It just need to be a few. And I mean like 50 of us on each continent few. A group of us is gonna have to be a pull the rest of us up from the status of a bumbling underclass that can't do anything resembling a civilization.

Its going to be interesting to look back on this post like ten years from now.

A storm is brewing.... its hard to say how and who will be the winners and losers but it will be a class war between common people and the kleptocracy establishment. The portents of it in regards to race relations will likely be positive. I do think it will take decades for real change to take hold but this status quo is not sustainable. Old ideas and attitudes, religion, social caste systems, top down elite domination, economic slavery, social royalty are remnants from the Dark Ages. Slowly these attitudes are dying out.

Keep in mind humans have only been reading and writing for 4 or 5 thousand years, during which the vast majority of generations was illiterate, living with superstitions, ignorance and Dark Age customs, we are still trying to figure out civility.

This planet is really kind of small, things will have to be managed more closely to maintain a decent level quality of life.

Break away. Create it!

Those attitudes aren't dying out. Those attitudes only recycle themselves over and over again as economics turns over and over.

Europeans and Asians, specifically Enlightenment era and Confucian philosophy, believed in getting rid of all those things.

And then we had Western Imperialism.

And Europeans were like, "Of course WE Believe in the Equality and non-Superstition regarding US. But Non White people, oh no. Africans? African men that like fucking animals that resemble monkeys to the point they lust after White women. We are the only sane, righteous, upstanding group of humans on Earth."

Mind you, Thomas Jefferson said that about Black men, the writer of the Declaration of Independence. Mr. Enlightenment Intellectual himself.

Confucius? "Lets get rid of nepotism and blah blah blah blah"  And look how China is. People have been forced into slave labor. People have had their ability to travel to move. You got billionaire communists. They don't give a fuck.

Anything to advance the People's Republic.

Ideas recycle themselves, mostly based on economic and political circumstances. People believe in this idea of progress and it's not true. You have to be vigilante forever.

People don't change their minds, they respond to stimulus of the times.

When Western Europeans merchants and philosophers were getting bullied by nobility and the church - despite having more money and education

"All men are created equal."

When Western Europeans merchants and philosophers became a global superpower...

"We must go out into the world and teach all the nonwhites how to live..."

Economic and political circumstances change and advantages change and whatever moral/political philosophy that can legitimize the power that held by the elites is proposed to the masses.

Everything sounds nice and fuzzy when you are getting your ass kicked or on the come up. Then you come into power and realize what you must do to maintain your power and the people that will have to be sacrificed.

Look at Obama...

Went from Change is Going to Come to calling Black protesters thugs.

Only thing that stays consistent is the will to come to into power and the will to survive. Either you have the advantage or you don't. Either you can pivot or you can't.

Can't hang your hat on the politics of the times. Things change. Ideas are recycled based on economic and political power and who runs things.

When the church and royalty ran things, nobility mattered. When merchants and philosophers ran things, what you knew and what you owned mattered.

If you don't have the power yourself or not even looking to attain it like the African race, you can't think things are gonna get better for you when shit just happens to you.

African race don't determine the politics of the times, we don't determine the economics of the times, White people do. So whatever White people say, pretty much goes. Whatever White people determined for themselves, is determined for the rest of the world - especially Black people.

So the politics of the times I don't care about. I looked into the history enough to recognized, if you don't got the economy or the political power, then it doesn't matter. You'll be an old ideological relic as those that maneuver themselves to attain power will change the politics of the times.

Of course everybody is talking about racial healing.

Black people talking like Malcolm X again after years of that MLK talk.

White people sounding all remorseful and crying their eyes out.

Multiracial marches and shit.

What changed?

Nothing, just more Black people got murked than usual in the last 8 years.

No, I've never read anything like that written by Thomas Jefferson.  I have read about his White supremacist mythology beliefs that Black people were "inferior", etc., etc.

Can you post a reference?  I would like to read any writings Thomas Jefferson wrote regarding any beliefs of his that Black men had sex with animals.

However, if he so believed that Black women "resembled" monkeys, or were "like an animal", what would that make him for having sex with them to the point of never even getting his own wife pregnant, but fathering children with these Black women that he supposedly believed "resembled" monkeys.
