I don't drink.... so I had a hard time understading what all of this meant.... So I researched it on the net.... Here's what I found:


The flavor of Bailey's is also quite distinct, and I believe you'd never forget it if you've ever tried it. It is very creamy and rich tasting, slightly sweet. It goes quite well with any recipe you may have that calls for coffee or chocolate! For as rich as it tastes, Bailey's is surprisingly low in calories, just around 130 per serving (by itself). When combined with other ingredients in a recipe is when it starts to add those calories on! Bailey's low alcohol content is just 17% by volume. You've probably seen the bottle before because it is a distinct rounded, dark brown bottle.
Nice... I suppose if I'm going to be an alcoholic beverage.... I'd like to be a sweet, rich chocolate one Wink

My List:
MBM - Martini, very dry with a twist. So much like James Bond, disappearing from the board for awhile and then returning with something sleek to say. And I don't even think I've seen you lose your cool. Such a mystery.

Sandye - Cosmopolitan. Always mellow and sophisticated.

Audio Guy - Pina Colada. Tropical, sweet, and somehow both damn fresh and traditional.

kresge - Diesel (1/2 pint Lager, 1/2 pint Cider). Doesn't fit neatly into any particular category, but totally unexpectedly makes perfect sense.

Rowe - Cherry Vodka Sour (Sweet and sour mix, vodka, grenadine). Curious mix of kindness, maturity, and unyielding confidence.

Vox - The Absinthe Minded Martini (absinthe, gin, vermouth, and a float of Grand Marnier). Very precise and methodical. A rare and true gentleman.

ddouble - Dickhead's Delight (Kahlua, rum, chocolate milk, cinnamon, whipped cream). Hehehe. Someone genuinely made up of sugar and spice and everything nice.

Black Viking - Smirnoff Ice. Nothing too flashy or, dare I say, costly to make. Ha ha ha.

Honest Brother - Chocolate Martini. Classic and loves his chocolate.

virtue - Apple Toddy (Baked Apple, Superfine Sugar, Apple Brandy, Nutmeg, and Boiling Water). Wholesome, sweet, and above all, warm.

Jasmine - Strawberry Daquiri. I immediately thought of something very girly and pink.

Kweli4Real - Mojito (Rum, mint leaves, and sugar). Very strong, a little tangy, and definitely sweet.

James Wesley Chester - Bone Crusher (Gin, vodka, triple sec, rum, grenadine, lime juice, sweet and sour mix, champagne). Very complex, very balanced. This drink originated in D.C. right around the corner from the White House. Still waiting for you to run for office, Jim.

xxGAMBITxx - Shirley Temple. The Daddy of the beautiful little girl with curls.

qty226 - Bay Breeze (Vodka, cranberry juice, pineapple juice). Uncomplicated, sugary and packs a punch.

MidLifeMan - Bourbon and Sprite. One part old-world, one part youthful energy. And it's one of my favorite drinks and I think we probably have similar tastes and views in real life!

Max - Legspreader (equal parts tequila, vodka, gin, and rum). Brotha, either you have just been released from prison or your sexual appetite is out of this world! LOL! I still remember when you first arrived to talk about plastic surgery. Who knew?

art_gurl - Bellini (champagne and peach nectar). Irresistable joie de vivre and sunny disposition.

SistahSouljah - Jack Daniels and Coke. No nonsense and likely to bring you to your knees if you're not on your toes. And that's why I love ya!!

Nmaginate - Flaming Lemon Drop shot (151 proof rum, absolut citron, galliano, lemon, sugar). Once you get past the "baptism by fire," there's something very pleasant and invigorating.

Isome - Miller Lite. Everytime I think of you, I see screaming guitars and headbangers. Good times in the Thandie Newton thread. LOL!

RadioRaheem - The French Whore (vodka, raspberry liquer, pineapple juice). Your name is forever intertwined in my mind with loose, half-naked European women. LOL!

Kevin41 - Scotch, on the rocks. Perfect for the man who bristles at anyone reading into what he says. Straightforward.

Empty Purnata - Jesus is Here (Vodka and Ginger Ale). LOL! I always think of how critical you are of Christianity.

ricardomath - The Crying Game (Jack Daniels, lime vodka, kahlua, bailey's irish cream, grenadine, tequila, rum, tomato juice). Knows a lot about everything under the sun and fellow champion of all "Friends of Dorothy."

EbonyRose - Strawberry Kir Royale (halved strawberries, sugar, chilled champagne, creme de cassis). Sweet and bubbly and lots of fun!

ma'am - Rum Punch. My Caribbean sista! Glad you're here!

folobatuyi - Glass of Merlot. It's the only drink I could come up with that had any redemable health benefits, Doctor F!

there are lots of recipe variations for a Manhatten, but here's a good one...

3/4 oz sweet vermouth
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 dash Angostura® bitters
1 maraschino cherry
1 twist orange peel


Combine the vermouth, bourbon whiskey, and bitters with 2 - 3 ice cubes in a mixing glass. Stir gently, don't bruise the spirits and cloud the drink. Place the cherry in a chilled cocktail glass and strain the whiskey mixture over the cherry. Rub the cut edge of the orange peel over the rim of the glass and twist it over the drink to release the oils but don't drop it in.

VARIATION: No bitters. Substitute a twist of lime for the cherry and orange. Hold the lime twist in a lighted match over the drink and then drop it in. The heat really zips up the lime flavor.

And the ingredients.... I hear you ask? Smile

Angostura has bite, whisky is brisk and fresh and honest, vermouth is strong and mooth, the cherry has a sweet kick, and the orange peel symbolizes health food LOL! Smile

Now... that glass of wine? I'd suggest an ice cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc or perhaps a sangiovese. And tapas! Wink

A Slippery Nipple is a popular shot that uses the Italian, anise-flavored liqueur, sambuca. It is also made with equal amounts of Anisette and Peppermint Schnapps used to replace the sambuca.
INGREDIENTS:

1/2 oz sambuca
1 oz Irish cream liqueur
PREPARATION:

Pour the Irish cream liqueur into a shot glass.
Top with the sambuca.

Also known as a Ramos Fizz. Created in the late 1800's by Henry C. Ramos in New Orleans. This drink became so popular that by the 1915 Mardi Gras celebration Ramos' 35 "shaker boys" could not keep up with demand.

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz powdered sugar
1/4 oz cream
1 egg white
3-4 dashes fleurs d'orange (orange flower water)
1/4 oz club soda
PREPARATION:

Place all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes.
Shake vigorously (more than normal to mix the egg and cream together well).
Strain into a chilled wine glass.

This is not at all a shot for the faint of heart or people with sensitive taste buds. The mixture of Irish cream and tequila is definitely not a normal combination but if you are looking for a quick, potent novelty shot this shooter would be the one to try.
INGREDIENTS:

1/3 oz dry vermouth
1/3 oz Irish cream liqueur
1/3 oz tequila
PREPARATION:

Pour the dry vermouth and tequila into a shot glass.
Stir well.
Slowly pour the Irish cream liqueur on top.

Mystical and organic Oshun Auset : Voodoo (shooter)

This is not a shooter to take lightly and may be the only alcohol you'll want to drink for a night. The Jamaican coffee liqueur Tia Maria smoothes out the overproof (150 proof) rum which you should NEVER drink straight, always dilute this rum for your own health.

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 oz Tia Maria
rum cream
1/2 oz overproof (150 proof) rum
PREPARATION:

This is a layered shot so each ingredient is poured on top of the previous.
Pour the Tia Maria into a shot glass.
Pour the rum cream on top of the Tia Maria.
Pour the overproof rum on top of the rum cream.

Alabama Slammer (shooter)

As far as shooters go, an Alabama Slammer is one of the best tasting shots out there. This chilled shot is often also made without sloe gin.
INGREDIENTS:

1/2 oz sloe gin
1 oz amaretto
1 oz Southern Comfort
dash of lemon juice
PREPARATION:

Pour the amaretto, Southern Comfort and sloe gin in a chilled highball glass with ice.
Add the dash of lemon juice.
Stir well.
Strain into a shot glass.

Fine: Immaculate

Any cocktail with a name that describes perfection has to be an absolute winner. Mixing Amaretto with lime and lemon may seem a bit odd at first but this combination is just that, Immaculate. It is suggested to avoid experimenting with the ratios on this cocktail as using more or less of any ingredient can could ruin it's perfection.

INGREDIENTS:

2 oz light rum
1/2 oz Amaretto
1 oz lime juice
1 oz lemon juice
1/2 tsp superfine sugar

PREPARATION:

Pour the ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes.
Shake well.
Strain into a chilled chilled cocktail glass.

Precise, direct, and no-fuss umbrarchist: Algonquin Cocktail

The Algonquin Cocktail is a great pineapple whiskey martini. To avoid throwing off this drink's flavors, precise pouring is advised.

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 oz dry vermouth
3/4 oz pineapple juice

Not quite. An Irish Car Bomb is a shot of Bailey's and another alcohol (amaretto I think) dropped into a half a glass of Guiness.

It's straight and simple, and quite a head rush.

I'd say for you DD:

The Hulk

2 oz Hpnotiq® liqueur
1 1/2 oz Hennessy® cognac
3 - 4 oz Sprite® soda


Pour the Hpnotiq liqueur and Hennessy cognac into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Fill the rest of the glass with Sprite or 7-UP, stir well, and serve.

or maybe a:

A night in Georgia

1/2 oz Aftershock® Hot & Cool cinnamon schnapps
1/2 oz Captain Morgan® Parrot Bay pineapple rum

Mix the two in a shot glass and let them seperate before drinking

Appletini / Apple Martini

2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Apple Pucker Schnapps or,
1/2 oz. Apple Juice or Cider

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish with an Apple Slice

OR A:

Mango Sunrise

2 oz mango liqueur
6 oz orange juice
1/2 oz grenadine syrup


Pour the mango liqueur into a collins glass filled with ice cubes. Fill with orange juice, and top with grenadine. Serve unstirred.
