But in the reporting [of the report], there's not a peep about the Hannitys, Glenns, Limbaugh, Cavatos who are whipping these folks up into a frenzy.

When is the press gonna return to the principles that brought out Watergate and the Pentagon Papers?

while scanning through the radio stations this morning, I heard the aforementioned whipping folks into a frenzy about the report itself and how it brands "patriots" as radical right wing extremists. Yesterday, Savage, was saying that those navy seals who participated in the taking down of somali pirates would probably be placed on a watch list by "big sister" Napolitano...

Do these people have no shame? They are dangerous.
Negrospiritual, here is some photos of various 'tea parties' that are going on around the nation. In New York and Pennsylvania. Mind you Pennsylvania has recently asserted its right of Sovereignty thorugh its state legislature. thanks for the info Yemaya. I think we will need to arm ourselves and learn how to team up for self-defense of our communities.

I knew the economy was going to be REALLY bad, for the 44th president, which is partly why I did not want that fate to fall upon the first black president. Moreover, racism has always been rooted in economics and a black president on top of diminishing economic returns and hard times for increasing numbers of whites, would create a racial backlash. In such an environment, Obama has to “walk on egg shells” in regards to “black issues” of racial equality and the like. If you really want to insight these hate groups and boost their numbers and increase discrimination against blacks, let Obama take a pro Affirmative Action or Pro some other stance that seems to benefit blacks at the interpreted expense or exclusion of whites, during these hard times. In fact, I can only imagine that such groups are salivating that Obama does something like that so they can use it for recruitment propaganda.

As I said before, America reminds me of the City of Detroit during the time that it got its first black mayor. The city was already in decline under the previous white administrations and the primary industry of the city was moving outside the city limits. All those things were well in motion before the Honorable Coleman Young (Hizzoner) took office. Shortly thereafter, all the problems and decline of Detroit was blamed on incompetent black leadership. In much the same way, the problems of America are going to be blamed on Obama….as they persist and get worse over the next 4 years (things will oscillate with slight ups and big downs). I have always felt that a black president, particularly a Democratic black president, would have to overcompensate away from appearing to be promoting a black agenda or pandering to the interest of blacks. I don’t think, for example, that Clinton would have needed to do such because the radicals could not use it as propaganda as much as they could if done by a black president. The subconscious fear of many whites is that once we get power that we will seek to do to them what they did to us. This is why Obama has to walk on egg shells in order to avoid that perception. Hence, that essentially negates an potential policy benefit to blacks from a black president….and maybe even lessen the probabilities.

I guess since I didn't see too many blacks in those pictures, we must all be fans of tea. Big Grin
hey, i'm hearing some mumbling about these so-called tea parties. Some are saying that these things are actually originated by libertarian groups, but that radio hosts have overtaken them and made them anti-obama in tone...

I'm not sure this is plausible. Obama has repeatedly said he'll cut taxes for the middle class so what was the point in the first place?

I've read where Ron Paul's folks starts all this; but it got co-opted by the rightwing pundits for an anti-Obama thing.

Now, I'm hearing that these "parties" are a front for the "fair-tax" movement.

But whites folks on other sites are remarking on the "whiteness" of these events.

So true, Yemaya.

Over here Gov. Perry is straight buggin'!!

http://blogs.chron.com/texaspo...perry_says_texa.html

Speaking with reporters after a tea party rally in Austin today, Gov. Rick Perry said Texas can leave the union if it wants to.

"Texas is a unique place. When we came into the union in 1845, one of the issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that," Perry said. "My hope is that America and Washington in particular pays attention. We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, who knows what may come of that."

I posted the above audio so you can hear Perry for yourself. The audio changes because I missed the first part of his quote and got another reporter to replay that portion for me on their recorder.

Perry also was asked whether the tea party anti-tax rallies are part of a growing national movement.

"I have never seen the power of the grassroots as antimated and as focused and as coordinated...It is a very powerful moment in American history.

"I would suggest that members of congress who are filing for election or re-election in eight months are listening."

"They're hearing everyday working folks saying, 'Listen, it's out of control. We're trying to live our lives and you're strangling us with your spending and your taxation."

Wow. That would be a tough call. I'd have to walk away from my mortgage and I don't think I could go back to renting, at least not without a fight. Eek

Hmmmm, guess I should learn to shoot, huh? Confused

But, er uh, if you get a place in Cali, make sure you get enough bedrooms okay? I don't take up that much space. 1 A nice place on Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach would be sweet!
I'm with what NS said. I guess its just us women who are talking with any sense about this. Its almost like the situation Yaa Asantewaa found herself in. Do we have to start telling our men folk you can't get any lovin' until you start protecting we?? 19

Wink I'mma hold my tongue on that cause lawd knows i wanna say more
From all the signs I have seen in the news footage, it is very apparent that these so called 'tea parties' are really just a front for some hate fest.

None of these people came out anywhere in protest while George W Bush/Cheney and the republican administration in power was driving this economy into the ground, but now all of a sudden they have such a problem with how the government is handling the economy; they never had a complaint while the Bush administration(s) were trying to take away American citizen's basic civil right under the guise of "homeland security," but now all of a sudden they are worried about the Obama administration being "big government" or "big brother," etc.

This is just an attempt by the right to do what they always do, use false and misleading propaganda to make people believe things that are not true in hopes that people will act on their misinformation to their favor. Not to mention that all this bs is also being done to make the 8 years of Bush's fleecing the revenues and driving up the national debt is somehow President Obama's fault instead of the very thing President Obama and this new administration is trying to fix.

Here is something else you might want to consider. Remember the conservatives used to make fun of Libertarians calling them dope smoking hippies.

What has happened imho is that a large group of former Conservative Republicans are trying to hijack the Libertarian party, trying to turn it into their own party.

Why, because they have finally realized that there isn't a nickles worth of a difference between elected Democrats and Republicans anymore.

Both parties have sold us out to big business and anyone else who has deep pockets.

Texas governor says secession possible
Posted: 11:56 AM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

(CNN) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry isn't ruling out the possibility his state may one day secede from the nation.

Speaking to an energetic and angry tea party crowd in Austin Wednesday evening, the Lone Star State governor suggested secession may happen in the future should the federal government not change its fiscal polices.

"There's a lot of different scenarios," Perry said. "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot." (Video below: Tea party fires up debate)

Perry, who is beginning to gear up for what could be a challenging re-election race, rejected more than $500 million in federal stimulus funds earlier this year and has been highly critical of President Obama's stimulus package. (Related: Joe "The Plumber" speaks at Michigan tea party)

His comments come a week after endorsing a resolution in the Texas state House reasserting state sovereignty over federal mandates.

Specifically it states that "all compulsory federal legislation that directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed."

Texas, America's second biggest state in area and population, was its own nation for 10 years before joining the United States in 1845.

Should Texas one day secede, one man may already be vying to be its president. Actor Chuck Norris said last month he may be interested in the post.

“I may run for president of Texas,” Norris wrote in a column posted at WorldNetDaily. “That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.”

What the hell? ek I gotta get the fock outta here...
fro The bottom line to it all: They do not like the idea of having a "Black" President! So much so they are willing to pull away from the union. Whiteboy got a lot of nerve! It's not the western days anymore....it's not about just "you" and your philly. Talkin' about a rude awakening....it's comin. And this time....whiteboy gonna lose. Watch!

BTW: I saw that senator who refused to take the stimulus money....and it's clear he is definitely ripening up for the upcoming Presidential campaign....and my President hasn't even been in office a year. This senator is named Bobby and he looks like his parents derived from India...in other words he's no white boy. So if my President did anything...that's encouraging other ethnic folks to see the potential Presidency in their future. This dream never would have occurred...if my President hadn't won. But! fro

I agree. In just the past 2 months there have been at least 3 attacks that can be proven to be tied in with right-wing conspiracy theories and calls to arms. That Alabama shooter who killed 10 people and that Philly cop killer both admitted they were killing people because they were mad at liberals and mad at Obama. They probably killed random people they suspected were liberal. Some states are even threatening secession now. Gun sales are up and so is membership in racist Neo-Nazi groups, "tax patriot" nativist groups and right-wing militias.

This needs to be dealt with before we have another Timothy McVeigh or Unabomber on our hands. I'm sure some of these idiots are reading "The Turner Diaries" as well and some even have the nerve to try to turn it into a reality.

Now if there were movements like that all around the nation composed of mostly black folks (or any non-white group) that was left wing in orientation the cops around the nation would have beat their non-white asses into oblivion. Or the National Guard would be on alert.

I'm reminded of a line said by security guards at a party in this program called "Pip & Zastrow": "If you're from Baltimore or Washington, D.C. we hope you have left your troubles at home....because if you've brought them with you here we'll beat you so low you'll need a step-ladder to look over the edge of a dime."

*Interesting observation EP....I read today in the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education....where some organization that tracks hate groups found the most reside here in california.....and that is good.....maybe it will stop some brothers and sisters out here thinking the "we have the better white man" argument has some merit....over the hills in the deserts is full of em...skinheads and the whole nine....me and my homies used to some across em....but we were out there to shoot also.....and like they say in Texas...an armed society is a polite one.....
