Conservative Whites vs. Liberal Whites

I've been asked before, who do I think is worse, Conservative or Liberal Whites?

Both of them in power are equally bad for non-Whites in America (and worldwide).

If Conservative Whites are in power, there is open and blatant discrimination (like during the Jim Crow era), and if Liberal Whites are in power, there is subtle systemic discrimination that is sneaky (like much of the discrimination today).

They both remind me of a juxtaposition that Malcolm X once pointed out. He said that if Minorities are like sheep, then conservative Whites are like wolves and liberal Whites are like foxes. Wolves openly and overtly slay the sheep and eat them, and foxes snuggle up to the sheep and pretend to befriend them, then slay and eat them while their backs are turned. Either way, you're gonna get eaten.

I think conservative whites are worse. Liberal whites tend to be more plyable. Conservatives by their very nature tend to have a stick-in-the-mud attitude toward everything. They generaly can't be reasoned with (probably because they lack the ability to reason). This isn't unique to white conservatives though. Black conservatives are just as bad (reference any post by Constructive Feedback). But they are few and far between because the whole idea of conservativism is to preserve something. That's why there are so few black conservatives, we don't really have anything yet.

I don't agree with Malcolm X's analogy because it paints minorities as sheep, which I think is a pretty far step to the right (or left) of reality. I can't accept that a description of black folks as "sheep" is acurate, therefore it casts doubt on whether or not white folks can be accurately described as "wolves or foxes".

I quess on the average conservatives are more annoying but liberals trying to prove they are not prejudiced can be pretty repulsive. So I guess it is back to individual evaluation. It can be more relaxing to be with an enemy you know then a "friend" you're not sure about.

Maybe I'm paranoid but the only reason I trust White people to tell me the time of day is because it is so easy to check. I have seen them smile in other White people's faces and rip them off and laugh about it afterward.

Racism is the common thread.

The greater impact against Black people today reaching our full potential are BLACK PEOPLE OURSELVES. Lacking a cohesive strategy and the INTERNAL ability to have the maximum amount of our people kept in line to support them IT IS NOTHING BUT FOLLY TO EVEN HAVE THIS DISCUSSION.

White Conservatives who are racists are more blatant in their views against Blacks. They let you know how they stand. They don't offer any help and thus Blacks must "fend for themselves".

White Liberals who are racists hurt Blacks by helping us so much that our own muscles atrophy from lack of exercise.

In the field that I work in we document the set of problems that we face and our management keeps the actions of all of the resources that they are responsible for in line and on the same page with respect to attacking this problem by come up with EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES.

The general policy sentiment that has been adopted by too many of my brothers and sisters in this country effectively yields long term solution for short term benefit. (Feed fish versus learning how to fish)

The decline of our communities is no evidence to many that there is a problem with the popular strategy. As long as you are blaming an outside entity you yield self responsibility for your own condition. This is not to say that other people have not assulted you. This IS TO SAY that at the macro level you AS A FREE PERSON are obligated to not have yourself exposed.

Again this entire argument in which WHITE FOLKS ARE DEBATED does NOTHING TO ADDRESS WHAT BLACK FOLKS SHOULD BE DOING.

At the end of the day White folks regardless of their ideology are seeking to PERPETUATE THEIR GENETIC SEED for future generations.

Not sure if your question was for the group or for a particluar person so if forgive my response if "jumped into the middle of the conversation".

The answer is yes. To say otherwise would be to generalize. Like Malcolm realized after is trip to Mecca, it's not the race or color of the peope but the mentality. To LABEL whole groups of people as inheriently bad is wrong.

The nature of men does not change with races, class, gender, or religion. We ALL have our good and bad traits.

The problem with whites in this country is the mentality that is fostered. Even if there are those that are not out right racist...the enviornment we live continues to foster a notion of "Supremacy" not only racially but religously, economiclly, etc.

Many white will claim to be devoid of bigotry but let one of their children come home saying they are dating a black person and we see how opened minded they really are.

And black people fall victam to this enviornment as well with the affect being that of negatisim and defeatisim that some here have pointed out recently.

One antidote to this disease is knowledge of self and truth. Whites have to stop believing everything in the world is just for and by them. And blacks need to realize more that more of the world is for and by them.
