I read an article the other day that stated that the "Washington Whisperers" are saying:

Cheney will be indicted [and possibly convicted] in the Plame-gate matter. He will resign. Bush will elevate Condi to the post of VP.

Bush will pardon Cheney, but will be impeached, but will escape conviction thanks to SCOTUS Justices Roberts and Meiers. But he will be forced to resign [Nixon-Watergate style].

That moves Condi into the president spot.

Hard to believe but that's the talk.

You know Kweili - folks claim that I am always running contrary to the pack. When I read things like this I am not one to sit silent.

Could you explain to me exactly what the Supreme Court has to do with the scenario that you have just mentioned?

If you notice during the recent Clinton Impeachment it was CONGRESS that gathered for such hearings with the Chief Justice presiding. What does Miers have to do with this?

When you hear a tale that has so many hot buttons contained in it does it stimulate your "intellectual curiousity" and have you to shoot it down without being a relay agent for the tale?

(You know Fine is going to take this post and spread it to friends on her e-mail distribution list. laugh)
1. I strongly feel that Condi will never actually be elected into this position. So that talk might be the only way that she is put into office.
2. I feel that if an election were held, most Americans would put a white woman in office before they elect a person of ANY color or ethnicity other than white.

So if Condi does become the first black president, it most likely will not be legal and it will be decided by the congress or the Supreme court. Just call me a cynic.

Welcome to the Socratic Method of learning:

Did Nixon participate in the Watergate break-in?

Then, on what basis did Nixon face impeachment?

What defenses are available to the Office of the Presidency for avoiding providing evidence/testimony before a congressional hearing?

Now, to the Cheney/Plame-gate matter. Based on what we know of the Fitzgerald investigation, would you agree that the Plame-gate matter is about more than someone disclosing the name of a uncover CIA agent? Specifically, the investigation seems to be looking at the Yellow Cake/Niger matter, that was pivotal in the run up to the war.

So, if Cheney is, in fact, indicted, is it possible that his or others testimony may implicate others on issues regarding the run up to the war, e.g., Rove-"What did you know, When did you know it, and more importantly, Whom did you tell?"

And if so, would that not draw a direct line to Bush?

If Nixon could be impeached for lying about his knowledge of the Watergate break in [accessory after the fact], would it be reasonable to believe that impeachment hearings would be convened on the basis of a president lying about the reason for going to war?

Now back to question #3: What defenses are available to the Office of the Presidency for avoiding providing evidence/testimony before a congressional hearing?

Finally, What court has jurisdiction to hear constitutional challenges raised during impeachment hearings?

Answer and learn. Wink
It will never happen and even if it did there are still too many rednecks and mob members who would see that she didn't stick around too much longer.

Oh, dear Lord!! Eek I hope this was some sort of drunken, drug-induced hallucination instead of an actual possibility! ek
Not that this is related, but ...

I also recently saw an edition of one of the supermarket tabloids [I can't remember which one]. The headline announced that the anti-christ was in Washington, DC. and showed a bunch of politicians' faces, including Condi's. The headline asked, "Guess who?"
I started to post this the other day when I saw it on another site:

quote:
Sparked by today's Washington Post story that suggests Vice President Cheney's office is involved in the Plame-CIA spy link investigation, government officials and advisers passed around rumors that the vice president might step aside and that President Bush would elevate Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

"It's certainly an interesting [possibility] but I still think highly doubtful scenario," said a Bush insider. "And if that should happen," added the official, "there will undoubtedly be those who believe the whole thing was orchestrated – another brilliant Machiavellian move by the VP."

Said another Bush associate of the rumor, "Yes. This is not good." The rumor spread so fast that some Republicans by late morning were already drawing up reasons why Rice couldn't get the job or run for president in 2008.

"Isn't she pro-choice?" asked a key Senate Republican aide.

Actually we've had 5 already--

1. Thomas Jefferson
2. Andrew Jackson
3. Abraham Lincoln
4. Warren Harding
5. Calvin Coolidge

I have JA Rogers' book--very informative and he wasn't even an official scholar. Which goes to show that even those who have no formal education can provide an clear, straight path to intellectual knowledge/wisdom.

I digress.

Condi as first Black President, Not! I'd rather vote for Hillary--LOL

Fine

From Google-Answers American Presidents of African American Descent
In 1965, Joel Rogers wrote a book called Five Negro Presidents. In
1993, Auset Bakhufu wrote a book called Six Black Presidents.

Rogers says Jefferson, Harding, Coolidge, Jackson and Lincoln were
part black. Bakhufu's six "presidents" also include Vice President
Hannibal Hamlin.

KCTCS Diversity Programs, "The History of Black History,"
http://www.kctcs.net/diversityprograms/stolenlegacy.htm

Harding said he could not deny that he had a black ancestor. The
"accusation" had come up in the 1920 presidential election.

Sources: Leroy Vaughn, "5 Black Presidents,"

Grant Segall, "Magicians' roots reach deep into Ohio," Cleveland Plain
Dealer, 2 July 2004,

and discussions on soc.culture.african-american newsgroup

Vaughn cites Volumn 29 of the Virginia Magazine of History (which
would have come out in the 1920s) for the claim that Jackson's real
father was black.

The evidence on Jefferson seems like a real stretch. Vaughn cites an
1867 book, which in turn has an interview with someone who remembered
the 1796 election campaign. In that campaign, a speaker supposedly
accused Jefferson of being part black.

Vaughn's source on Lincoln is supposed to be the president's friend
William Herndon in "The Hidden Lincoln." But Herndon didn't write that
book; it came out in the 1930s and was based on Herdon's papers. (See
Daniel E. Person, review of "Herndon's Informants," eds. Douglas L.
Wilson and Rodney O. Davis,
http://webpages.charter.net/lincolnbooks/HerndonsInformants.html.)

Vaughn takes two tacks on Coolidge: that her mother's maiden name was
"Moor" because she had black ancestors or that she was part Indian.
Coolidge did have Native American ancestors (see Calvin Coolidge
Memorial Foundation, "Calvin Coolidge: The Basic Facts,"
http://www.calvin-coolidge.org/pages/education/facts.html). Bakhufu
claims all New England Indians were part black, so that would give
Coolidge some black ancestry.

I hope this answer suits your needs. If not, please request clarification.

Agreed!! It won't happen. It's one of those memes put out to make people think that race isn't an issue in determining elected official. It is, just as it is for most everything else in the country.

Colin Powell had many a phony claiming they would have voted for him if he had run; I didn't believe that either.

Hey this should not prove to be too hard. Your boy Clinton did not have the balls to go firmly on record against Reparations even though his wife has come out against them.

Why should he have? Having such a murky position on one of the "Permanent Interests" of some Black folks was not a requirement of their "Permanent Friend", Clinton.

They didn't want to press him on this "Permanent Interests" and risk upsetting their "Permanent Friend". upset

(I wish I had taped the Bill Campbell interview with Clinton years ago. This was the best example of "anal parasite" disease that I have ever seen).

Gene Ross: "His eyes are so piercing blue" (From a cartoon Pepe Le Pew: "Tell me more about my eyes)

Bill Campbell: "Mr President WE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY APOLOGIZED FOR SLAVERY........"

"WHAT" I yelled out. When did he?
Ummm .... CF .... did I answer your question about the Supreme Court? Or rather, did you come to an answer regarding the supreme court and the Plame investigation(s)?
Condi is coming to Canada

This is her first visit after she had cancelled because we thought the missile defence sheild was a really stupid idea (as said so publicly).

I really like her in boots, but I am thinking that there is something not completely right about her...

Why would a very intelligent attractive black woman be with the Bush Admin??

Condi for prez?? She's not ready and neither is the US.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe for the money, power, or respect.
I think she's as ready as the next
'guy', it's the U.S. that's not ready.
Maybe she has a plan.
