Actually, I'm not surprised. The sample is very likely self-selecting, but it is important for all that. Certain personality types are attracted to fundamentalism and to pentecostalism, and to find bipolar and manic-depression there figures.
This doesn't mean that we have the right to sneer at them (I'm not saying that you are doing so, though it would be difficult to suppress a self-satisfied snicker), for they really need education as well as help.
Given the etiology of both disorders, pentacostalism doesn't cause these. It only attracts them. Do you suppose that they will learn from this research?
