Can a woman be a player?

Can a woman really be a player, and when I say player I mean a person who goes out and has many sexual encounters and is seen in a good light.

Or will the double standard work against her?
A man can have a different women for every day of the week and be considered the MAN, by women and men.

If a woman did the same thing she would be considerd, well you know.....


IMO real quick for me giving alot of credit for a woman being a "player" would be like me going nuts for former great basketball player Micheal Jordan making a free throw. For everything great that he did in the game, why praise him for something that comes so easy.

This was a question recently put to me just wanted to know others thoughts

Oh there is a double standard and it's wrong...but women have been players forever, are better players than men ever were/are/will be, and as long as humanity is based off of a male dominated, patriarchial societal premise the double standard will never change. Personally I feel its like that because of some deep inward envy but hey, thats just me.... bsm

I think there is much more to being a player than the amount of sexual encounters. I believe being a player, unlike casual dating, involves deceptive behavior....sex from many people, gifts from many people, attention from many people...basically playing games to get things without giving up much or anything at all.

I do not believe players (men or women) are seen in a positive light, and it doesn't take any skill to be a player...just patience and a gameplan.

To answer your question, YES. A woman can be a player...infact, a dam great one especially since she is given the benefit of the doubt and not expected to be one.

Oh yea. A woman can definitely be a player. I have met female players..They are very skillful in this dark art.

The difference between male and female players is that for a male player in most instances sex is the goal, for most women players, sex is a tool, and money is the goal....

A woman will not receive credit for allowing several strange men to have sex with her just for the sake of it, However, among women of like mind, she may be viewed positively if each of her sex partners became financiers of her whims.

true... next question is... do playas of either sex eventually change... can they? ...and what causes them to change? Another question... underneath it all... do playas really seek love... or are they too self-obsessed and materialistic?

cakeaholic... I believe there are women playas however the materialistic side of their behaviour - to aquire by any means - is probably a bit less obvious in these generally more misogynist and materialistic times.

IMO a female player is different from a male player in one respect. sex.

the true female player never gives it away. she's a super tease. she gets gifts, and attention by withholding sex from a man. some women get their rent paid, their car notes paid, a new cell phone and some jewelry, just for the promise of sex. this works best if the woman is hella attractive, and seductive, but not one to actually sleep around.

on the other hand, the men are players when they can lie, cheat and steal their way into as much nookie as possible. actually a real player just gets a girl to drop her pants without any promise of commitment. some black women are so deprived that this isn't really a feat in my opinion. many, not all, but many women fall for that line about how special she is to him, until he comes.

can a woman be a player? absolutely. it's the female player that i admire.

Neither man nor woman should be admired. Romantic relationships are not a "game", so no matter how proficient a person is at "playing the game", they are ultimately (ab)users. protest

To answer the question:
Yes, women can be players. Unfortunately, more & more relationships are becoming transaction-based. Frown
