Omarion Cancels Nightclub Appearance Following Discrimination Allegations
Two women reportedly denied entry into a London nightclub due to their appearance.
Upon receiving word of alleged discrimination at London nightclub, DSTRKT, crooner Omarion canceled his appearance at the club.
The Maybach Music Group singer shared the news of his cancelation via Twitter on Friday, October 2.
“I will not be attending #DstrktLondon tonight period,” Omarion wrote in a tweet sent over the weekend.
BBC Newsbeat reports that two women were denied entry into DSTRKT because they were "overweight" and "too dark.”
News of the alleged discrimination resulted in a protest right outside of the nightclub over the weekend.
DSTRKT management has fired back at the allegations, claiming that an investigation found that no one was denied entry into the club due to color or size.
"DSTRKT restaurant and club has launched a thorough investigation into this alleged event and found that at no stage did any of the DSTRKT staff said to the women they were not to be allowed in on any the basis of their skin colour or size," a statement from the club read.
DSTRKT has reportedly welcomed a who's who of celebrities in the past, including Kim Kardashian, Jay Z, and Rihanna.
Karrueche Tran served as one of the club's most recent guests. Her appearance at DSTRKT took place the same evening as the protests calling out the club for its alleged discrimination.
