Again, I know you are looking for racism here. But you are off the spot.... again.
Only one of the five black quarterbacks in the NFL are in the top 10 Quarterback Rating (Donavan McNabb).
Shoot, Aaron Brooks isn't even listed among the top 30 quarterbacks.... and there are 32 teams!?!

Anyway, you are right--black coaches in comparison to the US population, are in great numbers, but considering that the athletes in the NFL are 67% black, that is a disproportionate difference.
Don't forget the young Vince Young is switching out with the gun-shy Kerry Collins.

Even coaching this league is different than in college. Not all successful coaches in the NCAA Football College (or that matter, basketball) is successful in the NFL. In fact, very few of them are.

True--but I'm looking at it strictly from a numbers' perspective.
If the player pool is historically that high (67 percent), a reasonable assumption can be drawn that more people out of that group (and beyond that group, frankly) ought to be considered for head coaching spots beyond the current 21 percent.

So am I hearing you say that the number of black head NFL coaches is fair? If so, I disagree, as the amount of black head coaches is too low of a number and does not assess the talent of blacks in the sport correctly.

Both players are great. Jordan even greater than Bird. Bird was a good coach,... hardly great. Jordan... as an part owner of the Washington Bullets.. *couch* Wizards, really screwed up.

I never said that great players equal great coaches. I'm merely saying that the number of black coaches in the nfl is not indicative of the pool of those who are qualified. You assessment of my assessment is what is off the mark.
And just as a side note, it is okay that I have a different opinion. My opinion doesn't make me right or wrong, no more than yours makes you right or wrong. It just means that we have a different view.
