I'm sure you know already, but it's nice to see a reminder in today's The New York Times' recent Most Read list.

Early this year, the Book Review's editor, Sam Tanenhaus, sent out a short letter to a couple of hundred prominent writers, critics, editors and other literary sages, asking them to please identify "the single best work of American fiction published in the last 25 years."

I got an email from the NY Times earlier today that included this list. I don't read a lot of fiction--at all--but the one book I've read from this list actually turns about to be the number one book: Beloved. Smile
I forgot to mention than Toni Morrison has a brand new book coming out in October 2007, called Mercy - a fiction title.
