Started topic and did not put my 2 cents in...
Face: Picked up a book once (over 10 yrs ago) called,
Don't go to the cosmetic counter without me. After I read that, and found out about all the crap out there that even I was using. I stopped cold turkey and me being a miser was all the more happy for it. All I need to clean my face is
baking soda, best exfoliator and cheap as sin. I add
Cetephil, a water soluble gentle cleaner to tone it down.
Recently I've started using
rubbing alcohol to kill germs and remove dirt before hand or for a quick lazy cleanse. I know, I know they say don't. But I am one of those people that think the industry basically lies for profit. I do my own tests. The main 2 things I use are cheap. Imagine and they work, imagine that... guess they won't make much money if people had cheap stuff to use.
Like MsPrettyGirl, I don't wear makeup normally, only special nights out. I like my face, flaws and all.
Body: I like to use
Vanilla or Mango/Peach smells. It makes me feel... edible. The best lotion I have found
(passes end-of-day scratch test) is
Cetaphil. I use a natural deoderant that acutally works.. its the
Kiss My Face one, the roll-on in the blueish bottle for those of you looking for something that does not cause Cancer. Putting on a good CD, turning it up loud and getting on the treadmill qualifies for my body and soul beauty treatments.
Soul: End of day, to get rid of the world and all of that ugly crap... play with and just be with
my dogs (Lucas and Charlie). All of that unconditional love concentrated at me, nothing like it. Other than that my soul requires
quiet time to ponder life, the universe, God, me.
Simple secrets, but they make me feel beautiful, inside and out.
