I'm not because I truly think the efforts to save an organ donor might not be as aggressive as they would be if you weren't. I put a statement in my living will that if I am gone my family should donate my organs if applicable. But to have it on my driver's license- oh no!

I with Isitah,

You never know if you are going to be the "indigent" that will cost the hospital money to save or keep alive as apposed to the rich patient will nearly unlimited insurance and funds to pay what it takes if getting a healthy organ will keep her/him alive long enough for the doctors and the hospital to rack up. Smile
Am I a donor? Not yet. Hopeful not for a while.

But seriously ... I have it noted on my Driver's license, and all of my family knows, that when I die (if I die), take all usable parts and burn the rest. Or better yet, dump my body in the desert.

Take the urn and the money saved on the $50,000 funeral with the extra special gold dipped, silk draped casket and spread my ashes while on a cruise to the Greek Isles.

Amen to that,
I always tell my family to just bury me in a pine box (the cheapest wood) or just wrap me in a sheet bury me somewhere that needs the fertilizer; my only request is that I do have a tomb stone that reads:
Name
Date of Birth
Date of Death --and the words,
KISS MY ASS! written on it Smile
