Of course sister, Africa should be our focal point, but there has to be a way to blend both efforts: Black Nation building and ending global White terrorism. I know. We can do both things together. rock

When Asians come into our neighborhoods to set up businesses, they aren't thinking about securing the wealth and rights of Black people. They take this money home to feed, clothe, and educate their OWN children and families. From this point of view, is where I think Sister Oshun is presenting a strong argument. So the question still remains what are BLACK PEOPLE going to see to get themselves out of poverty, to get themselves the liberation they deserve, and to secure their children's future?

And don't think they aren't building economic infrustructure in their home countries simultaneousely.

American and European leaders are aware of this also. That is why they only prey on the weaker countries with resources, like Africa. That's why we need to do what the Asians are doing, like you said earlier, that is, regaining control over Africa, its land and resources. I agree with everything you said, but I like to introduce different points of view too because it makes the discussion more interesting and thought-provoking. So don't take offense, ok?

lol By the way, did you hear about what your boy Fagunwa did earlier in the discussion? He got the devil in him and cussed James out. I could not believe my eyes. You need to check him girl. Get your man under control.

That ish was funny wasn't it? I didn't see it coming, JWC pressed that 'continental Africans sold us into slavery' button one too many times I guess.
JWC blames continental Africans for 'selling' us(born in the U.S.) and those who ended up in the diaspora into slavery and uses that as a reason to say his identity changed. But he doesn't blame the European capitalist Amerikkkkans for keeping us in slavery(and of course there is no issue with them doing raids), and has no problem using associating with that identity twice over. He has demonstrated an anti continental African attitude in previous posts---Oshun Auset

As I've always said, you are a 'class act'. We often disagree, but I think, I think, we both 'go away' knowing what it is we disagree about.

You are not wrong to say in your description of 'view' of the original occurences in Africa. I never think of it as 'blame' so much. Rather, I see simply as a recitation of fact.

And...thank for not saying I said 'all'.

I don't 'harp' on that fact, but when I mention it, I try to be very clear that it was not a 'loving' relationship.

Similarly, I try to 'get away' from 'harping' about the myriad of wrongs done to 'us' by Europeans on this continent. It is a misdirect use of energy.

Once the fact is clear, to me, waving that flag every time I speak serves no useful purpose.

I know it is true. You know it is true.

So what do we do?

Reminice?

As to identity, I again try to focus on me, and mine.

I AM the consequence of the experiences of my forefathers, and those of myself.

Out of that 'history and circumstance', as the saying goes, I and those like me reconstructed and identity that is unique...in our society and the world.

By the way, I'm not 'anti-continental Africa', but also have difficulty in finding a fair description of my stance.

It seems to go for naught when I say repeatedly that I embrace all of Africa.

Africa is my ancestry.

I also am supportive of Pan-Africanism, which I know is rather central to your interests.

I insist however that African America's partition in that pursuit should be as African America and NOT just as 'some 'black' folks from 'The West'.

'... and since Fagunwa was born and raised on the continent it pisses him off. It also irritates me because of everything I posted in 'We Are African Period', but I've learned to ignore him somewhat, and I expected his posting after my 'We are African' post,(as if he didn't already post his ideology previousely on this same thread).--Oshun Auset

You know I have to post when you post.

Your posts are typically so formidable they intimidate many...NOT ALL...NOT ALL.

A thought just occurred to me.

European-Americans have done us no favors, and you question (challenge my claiming my citizenship, AND determining my identity with the inclusion of the word 'American'.

Africa, my ancestry, in a considered decision certainly did me no favor, in spite of my 'oneness', YET you advocate that is where I should seek my new identity.

I say I am who I am because of both.

How can that be wrong?

Furthermore, anyone who is distured by self hatred SHOULD be bothered with what he says. That is if they are concerned with our liberation. If you aren't concerned with our forward movement as a people than I can see how you can take the 'He wasn't talkin' about me' stance.---Oshun Auset

I think commenting here would be an intrusion. This is between you and Black Viking.

To add to what MBM said. Even 'if' what he thinks about 'Africans-selling other Africans' has any merit in the larger sense, he doesn't seem to realize after one group was sent into the diapsora, the other group that 'sold' them were then captured and conquered by European enslavers and sent abroad too. He donesn't seem to realize that the 'captuerers blood'(and I'm not talking about European) is possibly running through his vains as well as others he classifies as "African Amerikkkan Amerikkkans, therefore difusing his whole reason for not wanting to identiy as an 'African peroiod'.---Oshun Auset

That's a rationale that defys interpretation...but I'll give it a small 'shot'.

What happens after a 'bad deed' is done wouldn't have happened if the 'bad deed' was done.

The 'bad deed' is the 'bad seed'.

Planted in fertile soil.

I should love the 'bad deed'???

I don't believe you believe that.

We always end up disagreeing, and I still love your mind.

I glad you are on our side.

Made it seem like I just cussed him out for no reason. Better chill I aint to far from pennsylvania and as you can see I stlll got some BK in me. daz

This does seem to be the 'grand plan' doesn't it.

We don't count. After all...as they stand on our backs to take jobs we prepared them for...in a large number of case...while they were on some 'visitation' authority.

Renaming our institutions...because they 'do not apply'...and they reflect us and not them.

Okay...I'll stop.

Puhleeze....

You ignorant ass is still talking this bullshit? . Your bias is obvious. Fuck you and your dumb ass hyphen. Silly motherfucker. Is that Black enough for you?

If it doesn't apply to you, then what the hell is your problem with it?

When they dogged those folks in New Orleans it didn't apply to you so whats the problem with it?

So now you threaten me with attack.

I have theatened no one.

I stand in the open when I speak. I named no names.

Who I am and where I am has been known to anyone who really wanted to know from day one on this forum.

I have intentionally chosen not to be 'anonymous'.

Clearly, I'm not hiding.

And I still say...

Every time I see him try to wiggle his senile behind out of his dislike of native born africans it makes me sick. If he really wanna be "open" He should post his picture so I can send him some "juju".

He reminds me of my uncle who called my wife "akata" It took 12 people to keep me off of his ass. I know it was 12 because they are still trying to keep me off of his ass.
