I've been following Sawant awhile and there's quite a bit to learn from this electoral win and why self negation in social movements is never good.  You cannot reach any goal if you're constantly telling yourself that its impossible, impractical or "not viable".

This is why Occupy was a threat to the establishment not because they where set to win political positions everywhere, but because they represented the end of justifying broken systems.

You probably wont either for the same reason they don't talk about Rick Wolff.  The label of "Socialist" or "Marxist" only work as a negative if people who are labelled such exhibit fear of it.  When you embrace it, it always backfires.   This is especially true since people are more open to finding out more about what socialism since its something the Rush and Fox crew hate so much.

Now Muslims in the NOI know this first had from how Father Phleger un apologetically supports the NOI, Badu defended us while IN Israel (and elsewhere), Bev Smith etc etc.

Fear of association with a term or idea that's made toxic by them is something they do in many areas.  Its where you'll read references to slave terminology from people who will NOT touch the subject of reparations.  When you show no fear, they back up off you real quick.
