Over the past several weeks, the performance of recently confirmed Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner has come under scrutiny. He was confirmed despite tax problems including the failure to pay nearly $400K in taxes. He has yet to reveal the details of his plan to help the economy, although it was announced weeks ago that he had one. It's been revealed that Tim Geithner was instrumental in the failure to place restrictions in the bank bailouts, and that failure to do so has resulted in public uproar over bonuses paid to wallstreet types (AIG, Lehman, Citibank, etc) who have actually hurt the economy. Recently many news-show pundits, including Chris Matthews, have been openly questioning whether it's time he left the Obama administration. Meanwhile the president has expressed his confidence in Timothy Geithner and defended him during last weeks press conference saying "no one here created this problem". Have you been following this situation? If so, what do you think?
