Here's the premise: We Americans of African ancestry are citizens of the most powerful country in the world (at least right now), maybe even the richest (? ... I don't know), whose ancestors were brought here through the travesty of slavery. Had slavery not happened and our ancestors not been brought here and had, instead, stayed in Africa, there's no telling what the world (or we) would be like at this point.

Given that consideration, and the fact that (strictly by numbers) most of us here are "better off" than most Africans still on the Continent, do you feel that we were given a unique opportunity by being brought here (somewhat on a 'Divine Plan' kinda thing) or do you think things would have been if we had been left alone and that being brought here was more like some kind of punishment?
