Curious as to what each of you have running through your blood.

I know society identify's you as African American based on the color of your skin but why don't we embrace who we truly are?

For me, I can trace my blood to Africa, Native American, and Ireland.

I'm an American in the truest sense of the word. I represent the diversity that America prides itself on. I remember when Tiger Woods corrected a reporter saying that he wasn't African American but multicultured and how the black community erupted in anger, frustration, and ignorance.

There were two sides of the argument and I could agree with both but the upper hand went to Tiger b/c that's how HE defined himself instead of society.

I believe some of us are afraid to embrace our whole identity b/c it may mean embracing the slave master but if that's what it takes to break free from the bond of ingorance then some of us have our work cut out for us.
