As I said, I think the issue is really what one deems or can make a case for relevance. For example, why are books on Linux more relevant than say Souls of Black Folk by WEB Du Bois. Why is Dancing Wu Li Masters more relevant than Toni Morrison's Beloved or Michel Foucaults Order of Things . My point was that the doctrine of Immaculate Conception has to do with Mary being born with out original sin in order that Jesus would also be absolved of this "stain". Many people, however, confuse it with doctrine of the virgin birth. Further, lineage is not compromised given that Mary is a descendant of David, a relationship that she then shares with her son.

When I was doing my counseling training years ago, the numbers that we had showed that AA youth hardly ever committed suicide, that this was definitely more of a white thing. African American-Americans, notably David Walker and Mariah Stewart n the 1830's, and Martin B. Delaney in the 1860s, and Thomas Morris Chester in the 1880s seemed to drive the move to separatism in the 19th century. I'm sure there were others. Immigrants, and descendants of immigrants, transient and otherwise, are the notable players in the movement in the 20th century, e.g. Marcus Garvey, Elijah Muhammed, Stokely Carmichael, Malcolm (X) Little, Louis Farahkan, and most vocal supporters.
