Now that woman had a voice! She was my favorite during her time. Ooh la la la was the jam....as was Young Love. But! Portugese Love[r] made my toes curl in dance. I remember her voice so clearly.....and that's when folks really could "sang." I am wondering what the story is behind her unexpectable death. How tragic for her daughter. She will be soley missed. Teena...sistagirl you did good. May you rest in peace.

Yes ... It is very sad news, indeed. She sang like a songbird. I wish she had made even more music than she did. RIP, Teena.

"Now that woman had a voice! She was my favorite during her time." Agreed. She was a fantastic singer. I'm still reeling from the fact that she is dead. She was one of my favorite vocalists also. She had a wonderful soulful voice. The woman had a lot of soul and a tremendous talent (writer and composer -she wrote 14 of her 15 recordings). In fact, I ordered about four of her CDs a few years ago that I was missing. Hard to believe Rick James and Teena are both gone. They made incredible ...

Sad. I just read this morning (8/14/18) that she is out of hospice and back at her home. That's a strong woman. They still won't say what's wrong with her out of respect for her privacy. I wish her well and a speedy recovery. She is still a brilliant young woman in the eyes of many. Need to just take time for herself.....for once. Rest, laughter and love are the medicines she needs right about now. But!

I remember when he wrote the book No More Lies. Which is the truth about what happened to the Native Americans....the raw truth. I had that book until it turned raggedy... now it's out of print. Hopefully they will bring it out of print so the younger generation can read it for themselves. A very interesting read. And yeah that raccoon on Davy Crockett's head? Was no raccoon. But!

****************************************************** I just happened to do a search, thinking that maybe it would come up on some Black Bookstore's website, but it came up on Amazon. I'm sure that the publishing company had ordered his books printed the minute it looked like he was gravely ill. But, you know, a lot of books written by OUR people, or by non-biased White writers that have written Truth about Africa, our ancestors, and their accomplishments , are "out of print" , and a lot of...

If folks can look at the Housewives of every city in America, Scandal, Empire, what's some damn race films added to the mix from days of yore? Film actors are playing parts from the land of make believe. Whatever floats folks' boats, is what I say. One can watch a Donald Trump spewing of words and find all the racial shit one can ever desire. Watch the news and get all the excitement one can ever fathom in an entire lifetime, if one is allowed to live for any length of time. Something's...
