Re: Erykah Badu's stage show

The first time I heard Erykah Badu was in the wee hours of the morning on the overnight radio show they played her first single "On & On" and my boyfriend at the time woke me up to listen to it. After that I kept hearing the song but didn't know who sang it. Then I was home from college on some break (I think Thanksgiving or Winter Break) and she was on BET with Big Les (remember her?) and they were at her house. It didn't even seem like an interview it was just like watching a visit to...

Found it, it was a thread entitled Athletes and Entertainers thats who! One should not attempt to explore why Black youth seek success in entertainment or athletics without first exploring the availability of role models in these particular professions versus the availability of role models in professions other than these professions. It is easy to say Black youth want to be entertainers and athletes and not a surgeon, architect or journalist, because it's the truth. The hard thing to do is...

How quickly you turn from the subject. From silly questions you go immediately to Christians not standing to be asked about their works. The one has nothing to do with the other. What have I been doing but allowing you to ask any question? All I asked you to do was to ask one question and stay on that subject long enough to deal with it. You have in fact asked about works and I have answered your questions. This is far from not being able to "stand" being asked about works. But of course,...

I celebrated at my former residence. The best time to get supplies for Kwanzaa are now during the Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas season. You'll be able to buy all of your supplies like a indian corn, candles especially black ones and all sorts of other supplies. Always stock up on the black candles because it may be tough to find them in other years, Sunnubian. Kwanzaa is one of those holidays that really is meant to be shared by the community at large in my opinion. However, one should...

Word -- Punk Context -- Bush in Iraq on Thanksgiving Bush is a 'punk' because when it came to him sending other people to Iraq he spoke like a cowboy on crack (perhaps he was), but when he went to Iraq it was a total secret, in the middle of the night, and his plane landed without passenger lights. To to futher define the word 'punk', Bush stayed for less than 2 hours, and he didn't even leave the airport during his whole stay. Bush is a PUNK!

I think there are numerous organizations that are effectively changing African American lives for the better. You've never heard of them or their deeds. Most are locally community based. Since most aren't national (although some are) they aren't helping thousands at a time ... their funding only allows for hundreds over years. But they are out there. I read about them often, but never stop to jot down their names or anything. Other than that, there are also bigger groups, such as 100 Black...

It would be more peaceful and just, but I still think we will still have wars. Just because a woman can give life, doesn't mean she can't take a life. Queen Victoria, was queen of the British Empire, carved up India and the African continent like a Thanksgiving turkey. Although British men did most of the killing of African persons from Rhodesia, South Africa, etc., they were under HER authority. So we would still have wars.
