Re: The Elizabeth Warren Quote Every American Needs To See

nuggyt ·
So does she mean that nobody who built a factory nor the people they employed never paid taxes? This woman does get it that trucking companies also have to pay taxes to haul their good. The registration we pay every year that allows us to legally drive pays for the roads. I'm sure that factory owner pays property taxes that pays for local police. The is no such thing as a "social contract". That quote is rambling uninformed garbage.

I think what Elizabeth Warren means by "social contract" and "paying it forward" for corporations is that without the hard work of the American people and the manufacturing base that was once vibrant with the blood & sweat of the American factory worker; the core backbone (the middle class) of this country, the rich don't get rich or richer, factories don't exist or prosper in the black financially and instead of looking out for the very hands that toiled 8 hours a day, 7 days a week,...

Fixed that last line.... If you take a step back and look at all of the conversions politically, you'll notice how the language is focused on appeasing the corporations, markets and high net worth individuals. Elizabeth Warren is one of the few exceptions. There's a video of her i posted several years ago where she walked through the data that gave the lie to the idea that "poor people buying homes they couldn't afford" are the cause of this economic downturn. Her presentation is also...

Well, Cholly, ER, Muhammad, I'm glad that somebody gets it. Every word in the quote is true; there would be no rich people in America if American tax payers had not first paved a way for it to happen. What right wing extremists and their knee-groes soon forget is that the "Social Contract" is a two-way street, (in fact any contract is reciprocal), people like that want the 99% fulfill their obligations in the Social Contract and just forget about Social Contract Obligations of the 1%.

Ya know, I kinda hold my purse too. Sorry. But! Young brothas don't respect their own folks enough for me. And it's karma. You need to pay attention to how you treat people...when no one is looking. I mean call me a whore....and how you THINK I'm gonna react. Plus....one man's action represents many...that's the law of the universe. And if brothas are so concern about how society's perceives them....then they need to make sure that they show the ultimate RESPECT to their own people. Cuz what...

They have been doing this to Black women for sometime now, all you have to do is read the news or know about certain cases, many of which are "Conspiracy" cases, where if the boyfriend, baby daddy is selling drugs, they have been charging many, many Black women and girls with "conspiracy" in...

@Roarin 1 There has always been a conspiracy against African women and children. This conspiracy is about 1400 years old or so when Arab slave trader first came to Africa and began snatching African women and children from their land for the sole purpose of converting them into SEX slaves. They are the ones who taught massa how to mistreat African men and women. So I'm not surprised or will ever be surprised at this injustice on the other side of the crusade: the west. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:

sunnubian ·
Dana Charleston I have to PUMP MY BRAKES - I am asking everyone to do the same. I follow the news daily, I see different trends and transitions come and go. I have noticed a lot of one thing in particular this week, RACE. From Paula Deen to Trayvon Martin to the Voting Rights Act and now housing discrimination - All so much so soon, all most too much too soon. Is this being done on purpose? Is this being accelerated to test us or cause a rift somewhere in order to implement something worse.

People that have these pipe dreams of freedom and being able to do whatever you want and all this Utopian crap kill me. There is a difference between "Totalitarian" state and Socialism. Stop and Frisk did not deter any crime, New York just controlled what and how much crime would be reported by the media. That along with the fact that crime had been dropping in this country all along. Stop and Frisk was no more than the racists harassing, disrupting the lives of, brutalizing and in many cases, murdering Black people, especially Black males, more especially young Black males, with impunity, just like during...
