The White Anti-Racist Is an Oxymoron: An Open Letter to "White Anti-Racists" By Tamara K. Nopper I received an annoying e-mail about white people and their struggle to do anti-racist work. I can certainly empathize. My mother has always been a Christian since I was born (she grew up in a moderate church). But, she always used to be a very open and somewhat liberal Christian. I even found her reading books about other religions and even Christian Astrology. But, 2 years ago, she broke her leg and found herself houseridden for several months and dependent upon other people (which was a very humbling and even humiliating experience for my mother because she's always been a very...

Toussaint. What you fail to consider is that everything is relative. Lets say that an area has a million residents and normative levels of population growth. Lets now say that there is little job growth, despite a growth in population. The net effect of that is that the economic health of the region is deteriorating, despite not losing any jobs, but because they are not gaining any jobs. This is why despite job growth under the Bush administration, his tenure is considered a poor performance...

Being ridiculed(provoked) makes one vulnerable. Are we required to live by higher standards/ethics, and 'take the high road' when we are provoked by these artists? Should artists be held accountable for taking advantage of ART and PEOPLE by being insensitive? The youth are being taken advantage of by rap music (this I hate to admit). Tobacco commercials, beer commercials, anti-religous propaganda...etc. All examples of people being taken advantage of by the provocative enticements of art.

But the words also are acceptable slang to many within those ethnic groups. Use of derogatory words by the defamed group is not unusual, some linguists say. That's actually correct for the most part. We have state capitalism thanks to the regulations that are implemented by politicians under the guise of "protecting name your cause". This may be more or less true, but for us it's getting less and less true with each passing year. Government de-regulation, government interference, corporate collusion and monopolistic practices are limiting that free-market more and more over time. The result is less choice, not more. Good cases in point are the lack of enforcement of anti-trust laws that are on the books and the...

It's women's fault that some Black men refuse to acknowledge and be responsible for the children that they father.
